"This isn't my first Rodeo" - John R. Blade

In 1998, Ritual Entertainment's SiN was released to a commercial failure, but received highly positive reviews from critics and gamers like, noting its entertaining gameplay and awesome but inventive graphics and gameplay mechanics. The player follows HardCorps leader John R. Blade, as he saves the world from the dangerous threat that was conceived by the ruthless Sintek Corporation, led by Elexis Sinclaire.

Here's everything you need to know about John R. Blade (the protagonist of 1998's SiN)

John Robert Blade (Rusty) is a Brotherhood of Steel Paladin-turned Sentinel under Elder Maxson's command. While growing up, James went to boarding school in Little Lamplight (Capital Wasteland) and lived with his mother. It was at boarding school where he met JC, a classmate and ward of the state. The two became best friends as JC became an official member of the Blade family. During the summers, Blade, JC, and Jessica Cannon would return home. In 2274, Blade played with his father while he planted a mutfruit, in which his father grew lots of mutfruit than Cannon's homestead in Commonwealth. Jessica Cannon move to the Commonwealth three years later in 2277, however, attempting to have her scholarship program initiated by Brotherhood of Steel Elder Owyn Lyons. The grief of his friend Jessica Cannon's demise caused an intriguing relationship between JC and Blade, mixed with his rebellious nature. JC and Blade continued to attend the academy until they enlisted into the Brotherhood of Steel as Squires.

Upon growing up in the Commonwealth, Blade decided to enlist in the Brotherhood of Steel as an Squire. His father objected, having withdrawn from the Brotherhood of Steel when they proved more interested in authoritarian control than civic-minded rebuilding after the death of his wife. This proved to be the final straw between Frank Cannon (Jessica's father) and his father, as Blade ran away from home and his father disowned him.

Accompanied by JC, Blade entered the officer training program of the Brotherhood of Steel Academy at The Citadel and both reached the rank of Second Lieutenant, trained by family friend Chief Sergeant Clayton Carmine. During this time, they met fellow Brotherhood Squire Jessica Cannon, who reappears and constantly antagonized JC and Blade in order to prove she was the fastest, strongest, best Brotherhood Initiate in the academy. They also befriended Sentinel Lyons, the daughter of Elder Owyn Lyons, who was seen as the "greatest leader" with the Brotherhood. Blade, JC, and Cannon graduated from BOS Academy in 2275, after which Blade caught the eye of Madison Li, and selected him, Cannon and JC to lead a unit of security in Rivet City.

Years later in 2287, Blade and JC continued to working with the Brotherhood of Steel under Elder Maxson's command in The Commonwealth, until he decided to give his order to defeat The Institute and their synths, which Blade can be handled from their threats.

Conclusion
SiN was one of my best video games ever played on my laptop, as it was described as the "over-the-top" version of Doom with futuristic setting. Sadly, Ritual Entertainment closed down after the release of SiN Episosdes Emergence, the first planned of its episodic sequel to 1998's SiN. Based on my redesign for Fallout 4, John Robert Blade (Rusty) was also described as the "bi-racial" Duke Nukem, as Blade being a half-Caucasian
and half-African American. Blade is also a cross between Duke Nukem and Rick Deckard from Blade Runner.

If you like John Blade, please enjoy this game on Steam and on GOG.
