About this mod

Children of Fallout is a mod which provides a more realistic approach to the children in Fallout. The mod adds enemy children, random encounters, and will include 4 child followers in a later version. All children are not brave fighters, the mod takes that into account, in addition to adding 100's of different looks new hair, eyes, and races.

1.  NEW OOTC PATCH. WELP! This is going to take longer than I thought. It will create about 100 more child settler variations. This is limited by the way the workshopNPC functions. I will follow up with more updates in the next week or so.

- I AM ENSURING THAT COFP REMAINS COMPATIBLE WITH OTHER CHILD MODS WHICH WILL REQUIRE ME TO MAKE A FULL OOTC PATCH.
- THE NEW VERSION WILL BE VERSION 2.6

Children of Fallout was created to add a new dimension to the post fallout world, one where life is hard, cruel, and unfair. Children don't all become farmers, doctors, and helpers. They also become raiders, scavengers, captives, runaways, chem addicts, and deserters. Synth children work as killers and Gunner Children menace those foolish enough to cross them. Children who are indoctrinated into this difficult world all have different talents, and dispositions, and looks.

Then there are the OTHER children. The poor lost souls who failed in their bid for survival and became something ...else. No longer living but not truly dead they seek to drag those who failed them, or got lucky and lived, into their own hell..for all eternity.

Immortal children are a thing of the past, welcome to the real fallout.

This mod adds hand placed, randomly generated children, as well as several different random encounters to the game. The highlights are:

-Hand placed enemy children who are randomly generated from lists of skills, AI styles, Hairstyles, race, and Gender. There are literally hundreds upon hundreds  of possible combinations.

-Some children, like Ghouls and Synth children, will scale with the player. Other children only scale to an extent, but will always be somewhat weaker than the player the higher your level is...as it should be.

-There will always be children spawning BUT the rate for higher level children to appear is rare...because its a tough world out there.

-I have added numerous random encounters which draw from different unique lists. They will appear in ALL areas that are subject to the travel list including DLCs. I have worked hard to keep it lore friendly.

-A new skin texture (Thanks to Diverse Children!!) which is applied to all children.

- ALL of my children, lists, outfits, etc..are designed to be as integrated as possible for maximum compatibility. Things that touch the level lists should  transfer to my hostile children, depending on if the author added to the base or top level lists.

-This Mod was cleaned in FO4Edit throughout creation.


Compatibility:

- Killable Children is NO LONGER NEEDED and SHOULD NOT BE USED.

- This mod should be compatible with other child mods such as orphans. 

- There is a TEST PATCH up for Orphans of the Commonwealth. I am trying to allow Orphans to take advantage of the skins and huge numbers of looks for kids from my mod. I NEED PEOPLE TO TEST AND GIVE FEEDBACK.

LOAD ORDER

This now needs to be placed AT THE BOTTOM of your load order. There are 2 reasons for this change

1. It now makes children ( ALL children) Killable and placing other mods under it may break that as it requires edits to several base races and children. This was the trade for making it ALL in ONE.

2. In addition, while 90% of my children work from duplicated, independent templates and parts, ect... there are a couple places they intersect the main files out of necessity. I limited this to the absolute lowest number of occurrences, but in order to prevent any unforeseen issues, it is best to have it last so things changed at lower levels will just be integrated into and used by the mod.
