This is a large settlement I built at Hangmans Alley. Just shy of 5000 pieces. There are multiple shops, bars and recreation areas on the ground level, including a small market for the wandering traders. Above the rooftops are a number of different dwellings for the locals to reside and also a personal penthouse for the player. 

I kept on building until I got bored but the settlement is pretty much complete. I used a lot of mods so the requirements list is fairly extensive. I always use the build high mod which extends the original settlement borders and eliminates the height cap. you may be able to use other mods that carry out the same function but I cant guarantee compatibility.
