== About ==
Fallout 4 VR is a great game for sure, but compared to ground up VR shooters, its gun play is a bit... awkward. Only handful of guns are available, many iron sights are not meant to really aim things, reflex sights are almost invisible and not accurate, lacks VR's killing feature: laser sight etc. There are many weapon mods on Nexus, but only few are made with VR in mind, and none satisfy my demand. So I decide to bring some myself. And this mod is the outcome.
In short, this mod is my attempt to bring degrees of VR shooter's featured elements to Fallout 4 VR.

- A Walk Through Video -
The video above is a brief show case in action. Watch mod introduced gun handlings! And explodes!!
  • 0:21 - 0:37: Use Combat Scope for VS first two raiders and a turret.
  • 0:44 - 1:13: Use Reflex Sight for VS rest three raiders.
  • 1:24 - 2:03: Little Boy Pack and Flag Bouquet. Would've ended up suicide just like Fatman MIRV without patch.
  • 2:24 - 6:44: Goto darker environment with gun mounted Flashlight.
  • 2:42 - 5:48: Use Laser Sight for VS ghouls. Unfortunately, almost invisible in the video, but always there actually.
  • 3:00 - 3:52: Swap ammo to explosive rounds. You see, this was a bad decision.
  • 4:47 - 5:13: Ballistic Claymore Trio. Watch explodes going to three directions.
  • 7:54 - 9:16: Fusion Pulse Charge. Big Kaboom!! Crafting recipe is only available after main story line completed.

== Installation ==
The Weaponsmith Extended mod is notorious for its difficult installation process. Considering its size and the fact it's various authors' compilation work, it's convincible. But when I read the mod's post page, nearly half of them are eh... mentioning something about its complicated installation. What a shame! So I decide to write easy installation scripts. In this guide I'll instruct installation for base Weaponsmith Extended mod as well as my patch mod. Hopefully you feel easier for installation with my scripts.

PREREQUISITES:
  • You need to install all DLCs for VR game. CreationKit for Fallout 4 and original Fallout 4 game is also need to be installed. Install FO4VREdit as well. Plus I encourage using either Vortex or MO2 as mod manager. There is entrenched Reddit guide. It would be very helpful for setup.

PLUGIN INSTALLATION:
1) Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource (AWKCR)
  • Download first file from the mod's main file section.
  • Install downloaded file via mod manager. pick your options for FOMOD dialog. Then activate/deploy it.
2) Loads of Ammo - Switchable Ammunition Types
  • Download first file from the mod's main file section.
  • Install downloaded file via mod manager. Then activate/deploy it.
  • Uncheck 'Loads of Ammo - Leveled Lists.esp' from mod manager's plugin window.
3) New Calibers
  • Download first file from the mod's main file section.
  • Install downloaded file via mod manager. Then activate/deploy it.
4) See Through Scopes
  • Download first file from the mod's main file section.
  • Install downloaded file via mod manager. Pick 'ADD', 'Install and Merge both DLC's' and 'Pack all the files into an archive'  options for FOMOD dialog. Then activate/deploy it.
  • (VR specific)You need to edit plugin file by hand. Open 'FO4VREdit' and double click '3dscopes.esp'. When main window opened, select '3dscopes.esp' from left pane, then modify plugin version to '0.95'(See image). This looks like dumb, but works like charm on many mods over there.
5) Weaponsmith Extended
  • Download 'Weaponsmith Extended v4-4-2019 - Plugin' from the mod's main file section. Skip other files at this moment.
  • Install downloaded file via mod manager. Then activate/deploy it.
6) VR Compatibility Patch for Weaponsmith Extended 2
  • Download 'VRCP_Weaponsmith Extended 2' from this mod's main file section. Skip other files at this moment.
  • (Optionally)Download 'Weighted Plugin Replacer' from this mod's optional file section, if you prefer.
  • Install downloaded files via mod manager. (Optionally)'Weighted Plugin Replacer' should take precedence over main file. Then activate/deploy it.
7) (Optionally)RU556 Armoury Project
  • Download first file from the mod's main file section, if you'd like to have the mod too.
  • Download 'VRCP_Weaponsmith Extended 2_RU556A' from this mod's optional file section.
  • Install downloaded files via mod manager. Then activate/deploy them.
  • Open 'RU556_Armouryprojectv3.esp' with 'FO4VREdit', modify plugin version to 0.95 as well.
  • NOTE: You don't have to install original RU556 - Assault Rifle mod because assets is already included in WSE2.
8) (Optionally)JSRS Sound Mod for Fallout 4
  • Download first file from the mod's main file section, if you'd like to have the mod too.
  • Download first file from Weaponsmith Extended 2 Patch's main file section.
  • Download 'VRCP_JSRS_Weaponsmith Extended 2' from this mod's optional file section.
  • Install downloaded files via mod manager. Then activate/deploy them.
  • Open 'jsrs.esp' with 'FO4VREdit', modify plugin version to 0.95 as well.

ASSET INSTALLATION:
  • Download 'Easy Asset Builder' from this mod's main file section. Then Extract it into Desktop or somewhere else.
  • (Pre-Windows 10 1803 users only)Download curl and extract everything in 'bin' sub-directory into  'asset_builder' folder you've extract in step (1). Windows 10 1803 and later already have bundled ones and don't need to install.
  • Close Vortex window if you use it. Select Fallout 4 VR instance if you use MO2.
  • Start easy builder by double clicking 'build_asset_ALL.cmd' located on top of the extracted folder.
  • Follow instructions showing up. In nutshell: click download buttons on opened web pages, then wait, optionally have a coffee.
  • Find the asset built. If everything goes rightly, 'Assets Pack - WSE2.7z', 'Assets Pack - WSE2VR.7z', 'Assets Pack - RU556A.7z'(optionally) will be located on top of the extracted folder.
  • Import/Install the assets built via mod manager. (Optionally)RU556A's assets should take precedence over WSE2VR's assets if you use both. Then activate/deploy them.
  •  That's all!

VIS-G/FALLUI INSTALLATION(OPTIONALLY):
  • The Weaponsmith Extended mod includes custom naming rules for weapons and surely considers using with sorting/UI mods in account. Names of weapons and other items would seem lengthy and cryptic without these mods. Fortunately, there is one UI mod available for VR recently: FallUI. In this section I instruct optional installation of VIS-G Sorting mod and FallUI UI mod.
  • Download first file from VIS-G Item Sorting's main file section.
  • Download 'VRCP_VIS-G Item Sorting' from this mod's optional file section.
  • Install downloaded two files via mod manager. Pick 'Vanilla Weight' option for FOMOD dialog, if you prefer. Leave other options as default.
  • Download first file from FallUI - Inventory's main file section.
  • Download 'FallUI VR-Patch' from FallUI - Inventory's misc file section as well.
  • Download first file from FallUI - HUD VR's main file section.
  • Install downloaded three files via mod manager. Uncheck 'Mod: Disable PipboyFX', 'Mod: FallUI - Item Sorter Mod' and 'Mod: FallUI - Item Sorter Mod (Tag configuration)' options for FOMOD dialog.
  • Adjust mods precedence. Left hand mods should take precedence over right hand mods: 'FallUI - HUD VR' > 'FallUI VR-Patch' > 'FallUI - Inventory' > 'VRCP_VIS-G Item Sorting' > 'VIS-G Item Sorting'. Then activate/deploy them.
  • NOTE: Don't install DEF_UI Iconlibs Rescaled and Fixed mod. 'Iconlibs2.swf' is already included in VIS-G Item Sorting mod.

DOOMBASED WEAPONS INTEGRATION PATCH INSTALLATION(OPTIONALLY): New in v1.1
  • Download first file from DOOMBASED Weapons Merged (Weapon Pack)'s main file section.
  • Download first file from DOOMBASED Weapons Integration Patch for Weaponsmith Extended 2's main file section.
  • Download 'VRCP_Weaponsmith Extended 2_DOOM' from this mod's optional file section.
  • Install downloaded three files via mod manager. Then activate/deploy them.
  • (Optionally)If you are using JSRS, download and install both 'JSRS_Weaponsmith Extended 2' from DOOM Patch's optional file section and 'VRCP_JSRS_Weaponsmith Extended 2_DOOM' from this mod's optional file section.

PATCH FOR FRIK - Full Player Body with IK: New in v1.1
  • Patch for FRIK is available! Just update main file to 1.1 and  install 'FRIK Patch' from this mod's optional file section.

== Video Tutorials ==
Laser Sight(Please watch in fullscreen if you can't see laser/glow spot)

  • Equip a laser sight attached weapon. Or laser weaponry, because they can propel its own laser for sighting.
  • To toggle on/off laser beam, use 'WSEVR Laser Sight Toggle' item.
  • You can toggle using popup menu too. The menu will show up when a supported weapon drawn.
  • Aim target with glow spot, then fire!
  • Laser color is customizable. Use 'Weapon Workbench' and pick favorite color from 'Laser Sight' menu.

*

Flashlight

  • Equip a flashlight attached weapon.
  • To toggle on/off flashlight, use 'WSEVR Flashlight Toggle' item.
  • You can toggle using popup menu too. The menu will show up when sneak mode is activated/deactivated.
  • Flashlight color/pattern is customizable. Use 'Weapon Workbench' and pick favorite one from 'Flashlight' menu.
  • Walk into darkness with flashlight!

*

Scope Zoom
  • Equip a weapon with variable magnifier scope. Combat scopes and few others support this feature.
  • To zoom in scope, use 'WSEVR Scope Zoom Toggle' item.
  • You can toggle using popup menu too. The menu will show up when you activate scope mode then exit.
  • Aim target carefully, then fire!

*

Projectile Laser Sight(Please watch in fullscreen if you can't see laser/glow spot)

  • Equip a gun you want to attach projectile laser sight. Should work on almost any weapon, Including other mod's weapons.
  • Use '(Setting)WSEVR Setting Holotape' item. The holotape should be in your inventory with the mod installed.
  • Follow menu hierarchy [Laser Sight Menu] / [Attach Projectile Laser Sight to Equipped Weapon].
  • Pick your color then enter. Try first four entry without 'Muzzle Alternative' first.
  • Following process is identical to regular laser sight: Activate using item or popup menu.
  • Then sighting laser will be emitted from the barrel or gun point.
  • The options above may not work on certain weapons, Minigun in the video's case. When this happened, try 'Muzzle Alternative' variants with step (4).

== Compatibility and Load Order ==
Survival Ammo Weight Patch:
  • 'Survival Ammo Weight Patch' from Weaponsmith Extended mod is not compatible. Use 'Weighted Plugin Replacer' from this mod's optional download section instead.
Mods that alter weapon records of Weaponsmith Extended 2:
  • This patch mod edit many weapon records for VR compatibility. So balancing or whatever mods that alter same weapon records need further patch.
Mods that edit Leveled Item records:
  • The Weaponsmith Extended mod edit Leveled Item records extensively. So mods that do same thing would have compatibility issues. Other weapon mods that inject LL via scripts should work fine. This patch mod itself only contains LL edits for bug fixes, so any compatibility patch for base mod should work fine too.
Mods that alter reflex sights of vanilla weapons:
  • This patch mod will take care of reflex sights. So mods doing same things will conflict.
FRIK - Full Player Body with IK:
  • Now compatibility patch is available! Please refer installation section for detail.

== Known Issue and Limitation ==
Preview image of autosaves become reddish/greenish:
  • This is a side effect of laser sight. Autosaves taken when entering new cell with laser sight equipped will suffer from this issue. No other problem than ill preview image. If you care, just deactivate laser sight before changing cell.
Enemies attacks by barehands despite they have mod added guns:
  • This happens because rechambered weapons spawn without converted ammo. I looked through plugin and everything seems to be right. And actually works correctly on newly spawned enemies. Only respawned enemies seem to suffer from this issue. Probably another engine glitch? Further research should be taken. TBD for now.
Grenade launcher's timed explosive ammo may drop into ground:
  • Grenades and explosives was a category that needed extensive edit for compatibility to VR. It's mainly because Bethesda modified 'lobber' type projectile to implement VR's 'throw by hand' feature. Anyway, I had to edit grenade launcher's behavior and that cause this trouble. If you hit ground by timed explosive ammo then it may bent into ground. Not very often, but sometimes happens. Not against structures nor creatures but only ground.
Some throwing weapons fly into unintentional directions:
  • For dart weapons and some other explosives, you need to throw with a different manner than ordinal explosives. Don't throw them bluntly but just snap wrist, in immersive term. Or hold grenade button and release into desirable angle, in technical term. Some may call this glitch, but I prefer this variance, so leave untouched. Affected weapons are: chemical dirts, Throwing knife, stick grenades, Compact Artillery Shell, Fire Bomb and Energized Sentry Rockets.
Moddable Throwing Knives by Jkroovy is missing:
  • There are multiple difficulties to port this weapon to VR. So I just disabled the construction recipe. No LL edit was made. You can still use throwing knife from included Grenade Expansion Pack.
Does 'Easy Asset Builder' always need to run?:
  • You can pass WSE's asset building if already having built BA2s. In that case, grab 'Asset Patcher - WSE2VR' from misc files section and run it. Patching itself is inevitable because many features in this mod depends on modified meshes. And just uploading already patched assets violates copyright of original authors. Considering the fact the Weaponsmith Extended mod is various authors' compilation work and many authors have already retired from modding for this many years after first launch, I decide it unrealistic to ask permissions for each authors. So instead bothering authors, I apply 'patch your assets by your own' approach. The patching process is mostly automated, but needs to run on your computer.
If you found any other issues, let me know via 'BUGS' page. It'll always be helpful!
