Skyrim Special Edition

About this mod

An armor/clothing overhaul that merges and extends V30's mods, giving the game a more historical Dark Ages/Early Medieval feel by replacing vanilla armors and clothing, and adding tons of new sets. Support for Interesting NPC's, BS Bruma, Falskaar, Helgen Reborn, Wyrmstooth, and more. A vanilla weapon replacer add-on is available, as well.

Changelogs
Vaultman30's Armor Extended SE

1.Merges all three of Vaultman30's mods--YAGA, Simple Hauberks, Early Medieval Helms, including the early version of the helms--into one esp. Also adds beast race compatibility thanks to aicy!

2.Dozens of re-textures and color variants of all V30's armors, as well as completely new sets from a variety of talented mod authors--padded, scale, mail, lamellar, coat of plates, etc--with crafting and tempering recipes. Clothing/armor leveled lists and shop inventories have been completely re-worked, as have NPC outfits to better reflect the new Dark Ages/Early Medieval aesthetics. Also added guard armors and new stuff to shops where it makes sense--for example, you can buy a set of guard armor at the local blacksmith, padded and other light armor where hunting supplies are sold, etc. Fur and woolen cloaks, as well as mantles have been added, and are available via crafting and shops, and are added to NPC outfits.

3.Replaces problematic (high fantasy and faux-Medieval) vanilla armors and clothing with appropriate assets to reflect loosely the period of 400-1200 C.E. i.e. the fall of Rome to the early crusades.
We're talking Arthurian knights and Late Roman inspired gear on one end, and Norman-styled hauberks, surcoats, nasals and pothelms at the other, with everything else comfortably in the Migration/Viking/Dark Ages in between.

Load Order/Compatibility--
For best results use on a new game, otherwise you may need to use the
'resetinventory' command to see changes/fix naked NPCs, etc.
Since it makes changes to many NPC's/armors/outfits, it would be best placed relatively late in your load order. Load all patches below V30MergedReplacer.esp and all corresponding mods. To get the most out of V30E it should be used with both a merged/bashed/smashed patch--I can't stress this enough. Make certain V30E is below any other mods you have that effect vanilla armor/clothes.

Load Order
V30MergedReplacer.esp
V30E_ImperialPatch.esp
(Other mod patches)
TCoS.esp
V30E_WeaponReplacer_TCoS.esp
(Other V30E Weapon Replacer Patches)
(Bashed/Merged/Smashed Patches)

Current Saves and Updating--You may need to use the console command '
resetinventory' to re-equip NPC's on a current save game or when updating the mod--at least in cells you've already been in. To use console commands press the tilde key '~' in game, then click on the NPC and get their reference id number, then type 'resetinventory', without quotes, then hit the 'enter' key, and they should equip the new armor.

Bashed/Merged/Smashed Patches--You'll be best served by using the mod with bashed/merged/smashed patches! This way, the changes won't be canceled by other mods. The mod is also marked to Relev/Delev for this reason--though you can always amend this in Wrye Bash, if you wish.

Rustic Clothing--
Gamwich's excellent mod really compliments V30E, as it improves textures of the various remaining vanilla robes, boots, hoods, gloves, etc.

Gemling Queen Jewelry--Uses Gamwich's jewelry textures to give the rings and necklaces a real 'Dark Ages' vibe, making them actually look as if they are crafted by skilled hands.

JS Circlet Replacer--Makes the circlets match Gamwich's ring textures, making them actually bearable.

Better Close-Faced Helms--Recommended for those few helms V30E doesn't replace, such as the heavy Dawnguard helm, as well as the dragon-priest masks. Be sure to place BCfH above V30E in your load order, to avoid any issues.

Ecotone Dual Sheath--All new shields are EDS ready. As are many of the weapons in the Weapon Replacer add-on. Just rebuild your patch!

Guard Dialogue Overhaul--Be sure to load any version of GDO above V30E to avoid any overwriting of guard armors.

RS Children--
V30E overwrite's the vanilla clothing textures for children, but only edits three children directly by changing their outfits (the Jarl of Whiterun's brood in Dragonsreach). Be sure to load the RS Children esp. below V30E. With a bashed/merged/smashed patch, the outfit change is all that will be forwarded, with the RS Children handling the rest (as V30E doesn't touch their facegen data or anything else.)

TESG Loadscreen Replacer--Keeps most of the vanilla models replaced by V30E from popping up in your loading screens. It also makes the whole game much more immersive. I may make a refined version of this sometime--taking out some of the screenshots that show more fantasy-esque armors--if I can get the permission.

Patches and Add-ons--

Imperial Patch
--Replaces all Imperial armor, shields, and helms with V30 content, giving them a Late Roman/Byzantine aesthetic. You must have all the meshes/textures included in the main mod. Place the Imperial patch just below V30E in your load order. If you use EDS, remember to run your patcher, so the new shields are recognized. Load just below the V30_MergedReplacer esp.

V30E Weapon Replacer
--This replaces most vanilla weapons with (somewhat) more historic alternatives. The Chronicles of Steel is required, and has been ported and included in the file--you must use this version, as no other official port has been created. The TCoS.esp should be placed above V30E_WeaponReplacer_TCoS.esp in your load order (otherwise you'll get a CTD).
The download also includes Real Bows and a selection of Lean Wolf's Better Shaped Weapons, for those few weapons not covered (like the Nightingale's sword, for example.) Place both TCoS and Weapon Replacer esps below V30E and the Imperial Patch for best results, as well as below any mods that may change vanilla weapons.

Weapon Replacer Glass/Dwarven Weapon Patches
--Overwrites the Glass and Thalmor, and/or Dwarven weapon meshes, so they no longer 'glow.' Created by kiberme. *There have been reports of ctd's caused by this patch, so until this is fixed, I'm advising people to use at your own risk.

Historical Spear Add-on--Replaces the spear meshes of Skyrim Spear Mechanic SE and True Spear Combat, so both mods will now use re-textured historic models from Bob's Armory (using cubemaps and textures that match the armors and weapons of V30E) in place of the vanilla-inspired spears each mod currently uses. After testing both mods, neither works as well as I'd hoped--for example NPC's won't use shield and spear animations, and will often use old sword animations when fighting. Honestly, it doesn't work seamlessly enough for me to add them to my load order. All that said, maybe others have had better results and can use these historic spear models to improve their games, so I've released them.No longer supported.

Requiem Patches--Patches created and hosted by kiberme that help consolidate Requiem and V30E. Be sure to read the linked description page carefully for info on installation, load order etc. Thanks to kiberme for his time and effort!

BS Bruma Patch--A comprehensive replacer that helps integrate BS Bruma and V30E, replacing guard, 'chainmail,' and iron armors, fixing discrepancies in various outfits, adding to shop inventories, tempering recipes, makes bandit's wear a wider variety of gear, etc.
Load below the V30E main mod
.

BS Bruma Weapon Replacer
--Helps consolidate the V30E Weapon Replacer with BS Bruma, while replacing much of the new BS Bruma weapons with various content from Realswords (using many of the Imperial models introduced here), Historic Revival, and other sources. Must be used with main V30E Weapon Replacer esp.--it uses it's meshes/textures and TCoS as a master.

Helgen Reborn Patch
--Helps integrate V30E and Helgen Reborn, replacing the Keepers of Hatuu armors and town guard armor/shield, fixing discrepancies in various outfits, adding to shop inventories, tempering recipes, etc.

Interesting NPC's Patch
--Helps integrate 3DNPCs and V30E, fixes discrepancies in various 3dnpc outfits,  replaces armors for the Blood of Skyrim and Garbania's guards, adds appropriate guard armor to Falkreath and Morthal merchants added by 3dnpcs (with Al' Hassan selling numerous V30E Hammerfell armors, as well as shields). Adds generic heavy surcoat for Erevan, and gives Hiram an Order of the White Rose surcoat and shield, while also adding the new items to Khajiit caravans for purchase after quest.

Interesting NPC's Weapon Replacer--Helps consolidate V30E Weapon Replacer with Interesting NPCs, replacing various weapons added by the mod and fixing
inventory icons that don't match up. Gave Erevan and Hiram Cyrodiliic steel swords from TCoS--the same sword used in the BS Bruma patch--to replace the Nordic blades they used previously. I also fixed Moris and Callen's unique swords, giving them appropriate replacements.
Must be used with main V30E Weapon Replacer esp.--it uses it's meshes/textures and TCoS as a master. Place below 3DNPCs, V30E Weapon Replacer, and TCoS esps.

Falskaar Patch
--Helps consolidate V30E and Falskaar, giving new armor/outfits to the various factions, as well as replacing the 'amber ring' armor with a new mesh (the heavy mail hauberk with an amber ring on the back). Please note: I haven't added tempering recipes for the Staalgarde armor because this is already added by the Falskaar Addons and Patches bug fixes. Just be sure to load the Falskaar Bug Fixes esp. above the V30E_FalskaarPatch esp. I wholly recommend using said patch, for it deals with numerous Falskaar bugs and omissions.

Wyrmstooth Patch
--Helps integrate Wyrmstooth and V30E, replacing the unique armors with appropriate V30E alternatives, changing npc outfits, as well as adding to shop inventories, tempering recipes, etc. Note--If you are using an earlier version of Wyrmstooth (use the link above to get to the cashed older version), use the Wyrmstooth patch 1.3, in the Old Files section.

Wyrmstooth Weapon Replacer
--Helps consolidate the V30E Weapon Replacer with Wyrmstooth. Must be used with main V30E Weapon Replacer esp.--it uses it's meshes/textures and TCoS as a master.

Winterhold Restored
--Helps consolidate V30E and Winterhold Restored, replacing the new ebony armor included, giving new armor/outfits to various npcs, and adjusting shop inventories.

Relationship Dialogue Overhaul
--A small patch that replaces the 'Scaled Armor of the Traveler' added by RDO (the armor set recieved as a reward from Grelka in Riften for completing her CRF added quest). Tagged as an 'esp. light' esl.

Hammet's Dungeon Packs for SE--Fixes armor discrepancies between V30E and Hammet's Dungeon pack. Loot armor should now the have correct inventory icons, etc. Updated to latest version by Tokokun01, who also created a patch for Hammet's Vominheim which is available in the optional files, as well.

Hammet's Dungeon Packs for SE Weapon Replacer

--Fixes weapon discrepancies between V30E Weapon Replacer and Hammet's Dungeon Pack. Must be used with main V30E Weapon Replacer esp.--it uses it's meshes/textures and TCoS as a master. Updated to latest version by Tokokun01, who also created a patch for Hammet's Vominheim which is available in the optional files, as well.

Citizens of Tamriel
Patch
--A small patch which fixes the God King Soul Reaver III's invisible head. Tagged as an 'esp. light' esl.

Midwood Isle Patch--Helps integrate Midwood isle and V30E, adding new guard armor for each settlement, replacing the unique armors with appropriate V30E alternatives, changing npc outfits, as well as adding to shop inventories, tempering recipes, etc. The patch also removes new statues that are based on vanilla armor aesthetics.

Midwood Isle Weapon Replacer--Fixes weapon discrepancies between V30E Weapon Replacer and Midwood Isle. Must be used with main V30E Weapon Replacer esp.--it uses it's meshes/textures and TCoS as a master.

Beyond Reach Patch--
Helps integrate Beyond Reach and V30E, replacing armors with appropriate V30E alternatives, changing npc outfits, as well as adding to shop
inventories. Needs to be tested, so updates will surely follow.

Beyond Reach Weapon Replacer--
Replaces Witchmen and Alik'r weapons added by beyond Reach, making them compatible with the V30E Weapon Replacer. Needs to be tested, so updates will surely follow.

Vaultman 30
I probably wouldn't even still be playing Skyrim if it wasn't for his mods, which inspired me to dive back into modding, as well as learning the basics of re-texturing in Gimp.

Witcher5688
Credo's various armors and assets have been used by not only me, but many in the community, in mods large and small, making Skyrim a much more interesting place, to say the least.

ArchdukeofLandsee
--If it wasn't for Archduke's superb new Byzantine Imperials mod, V30E 2.0 wouldn't have happened. His new scale cuirass and hauberk (based off

Ellise's Wayfarer's Coat) inspired me to finish off the last of the main vanilla armors. He also helped me with learning how to edit meshes--Nifscope, and Outfit Studio--so I owe him a debt of gratitude. He's definitely, the 'Duke of Skyrim'.

NordwarUA--a talented Ukrainian modder who has taken V30's original assets to a different level. I've used many of his V30 re-textures in V30E, as well as his new original armors which are honestly without peer. The man is a true artist.

V30E also uses assets from Croc's Norse Viking Chainmail as well as
Jedo Dre's  Historical Revival, leather gambesons and robes from Nernie's Armor Pack, surcoats are from jomalley12211, Nord merchant clothes and hat variants from Romanov Couture, various shields by TheMalfazar, Skaal fur coat by hifoo, mail hauberks and lamellar cuirass from JZBai's Generic Chainmail and Generic Lamellar, mail and gambesons from Medtech--which uses the work of Narf of Picklestink (creator) and Uncleskippy (uploader) and their amazing Mount And Blade mod. Cloaks are courtesy of volvaga0's Cloaks and Capes of Skyrim. Special thanks to kiberme for creating the Daedric helm, and Light Imperial helm replacers, as well as other contributions to V30E.

V30E Weapon Replacer--
Shingouki2002 and Waalx for The Chronicles of Steel which replaces the steel and iron weapons, Jedo_Dre's Historical Revival for the Imperial and Forsworn, Jet4571 and Andragorn for the Dwarven, Elven Daedric, ebony, ect, Moraelin for his maces, Adonnay for the Elven and Auriel's bow, and billyro for various swords and axes. The remaining vanila bows are replaced by Real Bows by DecimusMaximus and Unique Bow Collection by Artisanix. Without these excellent mods to balance V30E's historic aesthetic, it would all be for naught, so I owe them all a huge debt of gratitude.

If I've forgotten anyone, my apologies, it was done without malice. Please send me a PM so I rectify the oversight ASAP.

Thanks to all the above artists for their awesome work!
