- Changelogs

Version 1.032
- Added Feran Sadri, Namasur, Orthjolf, Rargal Thrallmaster.
- Adjusted hairstyles on a lot of NPCs in OutfitStudio to reduce clipping/floating. Tweaked ear shapes on several Dunmer and Altmer.
- Added (EXPERIMENTAL) Skypatched version. Let me know if it works. Not compatible (and shouldn't be used with) any of the files in the Optional files section, except for body/skin adaptations. Bosmer facegen included are the antlered version, I'm currently too sick to remake the no-antler version for it sorry
- Skypatcher version requires Skypatcher, obviously (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/106659).
-
Version 1.031
- Merged all the crash fixes and (potentially?) fixed the Frostmoon Crag crew (I restored a backup)
- Fixed Elrindir's hair texture
- Dirty and dark-skinned textures for male NPCs. Update SAM Light patch if you use it
- Tweaked Varona Nelas, Elisif the Fair, Liliith Maiden-Loom, Ondolemar
- Added Ancano, Drevis Neloren, Nelacar, Vingalmo, Garan Marethi, Ronthil, Celann
-
Version 1.030
- More Orcs and Dunmers.
- Tweaked Dunmer brow ridges.
- Made lightweight changes to some followers' combat style, class, and/or equipment to make them slightly more viable. Cosnach is a ranged conjurer now, etc.
- Added more bandits, male Thalmor soldiers and hags (not hagravens, but the all-female witch enemies present in their lairs).
- Not as much as I wanted to, but I'm on the brink of burn out so +32 NPCs will have to do.
-
Version 1.029
- Too many changes. Buckle up.
- draqqable kindly provided tweaks to some NPC facesculpt :-) Captain Veleth, The Uriel sisters, Aduri Sarethi, and a few others I already forgot
- Fixed the snow elves' skin records so they actually show up when undressed
- Minor touch-ups to some female brow textures; most are based on Khisartin's
- Made the orc shamans/wise women actually old--gave them elder body normals
- Gave Gormlaith, Frea, Mjoll the Lioness, and the Orc wise women custom body tattoos
- Added some NPCs, mostly Orcs.
- Extended: added some generic NPCs, mostly female vampires (should be all of them now) and guards/soldiers.
- Some minor tweaks I did over the months and already forgot by now
-
Version 1.028
- Fixed Gianna's facegen.
- Tweaked Eola, Idgrod the Younger, Keeper Carcette, Galathil.
- draqqable kindly tweaked Drovas' facegen to have shorter hair, thank you :D
- Added more NPCs, mainly Orcs. It's kinda experimental right now, if you don't like 'em feel free to not update (or use EasyNPC, or overwrite them with another overhaul)
- Added experimental patch for The New Gentleman, based on this tutorial (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/articles/6049). Would like someone more knowledgeable than me to confirm if it works or not, please.
-
Version 1.027
- Tweaked Haelga, Vittoria, and Velehk Sain. Fixed Aduri's hair. Included some orc assets in case I want to overhaul them in the future (...maybe)
- Added some NPCs. This might be the last update in a while.
-
Version 1.026
- Small update. Updated some NPCs--Avrusa, Aduri, Gwilin, Valindor.
- Gave some Bosmer NPCs antlers/horns.
- Fixed Sorli the Builder's purple scalp
- Minor texture fixes.
-
Version 1.025
- A big(-ish) update: tweaked many NPCs, swapped their textures, adjusted hair colors, etc too many to count (sorry)
- Redid Salonia Caelia, changed Elder Othreloth's beard. (draqqable kindly adjusted Hafjorg's headscarf to fit better as well, thank you very much!)
- Added a small number of NPCs in the main mod.
- Added some unnamed NPCs, mostly forsworns and vampires
- (Hopefully) fixed 5 bandits with neck gap problem
-
Version 1.024
- The Helgen update. Added 9 female NPCs within Helgen.
- Added new body textures for darker-skinned characters.
-
Version 1.022
- Added some NPCs.
- Tweaked Gormlaith Golden-Hilt.
- Added some NPCs, namely female heroes of Sovngarde and some Dragonborn NPCs.
- Edited some female face textures--Frea's chin shouldn't look too sharp now, edited yellow eye textures to be less faded.
- Added body tattoos for Reachmen NPCs, mainly for the Forsworn overhaul I'm gonna do later, but I assigned the tattoos to Duach, Uraccen and Kaie too.
-
Version 1.021
- FIXED: Katria's voice type is no longer broken (i was a dumbass)
- Refined some face textures
- Added some NPCs, mostly for the bandits addon.
-
Version 1.020
- Added more NPCs.
- Fixed Hafjorg's hair textures (for real this time)
-
Version 1.019
- Added some NPCs (some of them from the College of Winterhold)
- Edited some eye textures to be more vibrant
- Fixed Hafjorg's hair normals
-
Version 1.018
- Fixed Safia's missing mouth texture.
- Tweaked Teldryn and Haelga's textures, gave Sybille Stentor and Hert some (very subtle) eye glow.
- Added body normals for older female NPCs--not too smooth and not too wrinkly, somewhere in-between. Mishmash of Khisartin's ALT1 textures and vanilla upscaled elder body.
- Added some (mostly Dawnguard) NPCs.
-
Version 1.017
- Tweaked Reldith, Jordis and Ahlam (her hair is glitching out in my game, had to swap it)
- Added some more Dragonborn NPCs
- Switched to ALT1 for male skin textures (Vitruvia is still used in certain parts, so the credits is staying). Hopefully compatible with HIMBO or The New Gentleman now? (tried making a patch, but the textures look identical, and I'm stupid and didn't want to mess things further so I left it be)
- Added SAM Light adaptation, courtesy of Khisartin's ALT1. I don't use SAM Light myself, so I can't tell. Male elder textures are still vanilla-based however.
- Swapped _sk textures with blank ones, saving a tiny bit of file size and my sanity.
-
Version 1.016
- Slightly tweaked Irileth's textures.
- Made some Dunmer brow ridges more consistent.
- Added some Solstheim NPCs.
-
Version 1.015
- Added more NPCs.
-
Version 1.014

- Added Viriya and Lynea from CC Fishing in a separate plugin (requires the main mod).
-
Version 1.013
- Tweaked some hair textures to be rougher.
- Flipped Uthgerd's tintmask so her scar wouldn't be obscured (I was an idiot)
- Added more NPCs.
-
Version 1.012
- Tweaked some NPCs, switched some beard textures to Khisartin's.
- Added several NPCs--moved the list to an article now.

- Tweaked eye textures so the corners don't look so dark anymore.
- Tweaked dark elf brow ridges.
- Fixed neckseam on the Frightened Woman and Jonna.
- Tweaked NPCs: Viola Giordano, Grelka, Angi, probably some other ones I forgot.

A personal overhaul of some Skyrim and Solstheim NPCs, named and unnamed, in my niche style*).
They're not pretty; I'm not going for the standard 'Nexus airbrushed supermodels' pretty. Young NPCs look young, mature and old NPCs look old. They have pores and wrinkles, moles and birthmarks and other skin details; many have facial features like big noses and cleft chins and other things that an average Nexus supermodel enjoyers might not find attractive. Some NPCs look decent. Some NPCs look average. Some NPCs look gods-feckin' ugly.
If you want to laugh and ridicule my choices, heck, feel free. If you want to nitpick and complain feel free too.
And to be perfectly honest with you, I don't think this overhaul is any good either! I'm not a professional artist or character designer by any means; every single NPC is basically just me trying my best to make a character that hopefully fits the rustic nature of Skyrim, doesn't look too bad without ENB (because I'm not using one), with an exaggerated feature or two (because strict realism is boring). Some NPCs could've been better, I'll tweak them further later.
You've probably noticed I'm mostly doing female NPCs and elves. I'm using RedguardDiaspora's amazing True Sons of Skyrim and Men of Skyrim for most of the dudes.
And if you don't see a particular NPC covered, it's probably because I already covered them in my other overhauls:
Feel free to make a bug report or PM me if there's any issues. I'd gladly help.
List of all overhauled NPCs are here.
Technical details/known bugs:
- Racial Skin Variance exclusion patch included. It's technically a SPID file that distributes the "RSVIgnore" keyword to every NPCs overhauled with the mod. The patch won't do anything if you don't have Racial Skin Variance installed.
Even in the off chance RSV is updated to work with CotR-based overhauls in the future, making all of the NPCs use the exact same, albeit racial-based diffuse and/or normal textures will most probably ruin the intended look of their faces (a button nose doesn't look like a button nose anymore, cleft chins no longer look like cleft chins, etc) and render my Nifskope tinkering useless. So please, exclude 'em.
- Hair textures further edited to be rough, natural and uniform to each other (no shiny-haired NPC next to a matte-haired NPC). Custom eye textures based on Lograam's The Eyes of Beauty and Khisartin's Eyes mod 3.
- Optimized for performance. 2K body and face textures, 1K for hair and 512px for eyes, BC7 compression. Tintmasks are mostly 1K (2K for NPCs with tattoos), some particularly plain NPCs get 512px tintmask. Hairs on the higher-poly end (40k+) only for one or two NPCs per hold.
- No NPC weight are changed. Safe to install mid-game. If any NPC ends up naked, open console and run 'resetinventory' command on them.
- CBBE/3BA and UNP/Vanilla compatible. No unique body mesh included so pick the version compatible to your setup. SAM Light patch in optional files.
- If experiencing problems with EasyNPC and the extended/bandits addon, I think it's fine to exclude it/load it after. As a rule, EasyNPC is used to pick and choose which NPC you want to get overhauled from a pool of NPC mods you have installed (resolving conflicts), but there hasn't been a lot of mods that overhaul bandits/no name NPCs, so the chances of conflict are almost minimal.
- Screenshots are taken without ENB (just ReShade). They might look different on your end.
Other changes included:
- Some NPCs have been given the potential marriage faction.
- Some NPCs have been given a light amount of perks, removed the level cap, etc. Forwarded BUVARP's changes to Sven to make him a Speechcraft trainer.
- Some NPCs have been given new AI packages. Aerin won't follow Mjoll around like a puppy anymore. Jenassa patrols around Whiterun during daytime and pleasant weather.
Other recommended mods, or at least what I use in my personal load order anyway:
- Barely Used Vanilla Actors Recycle Project (BUVARP)
- SassiestAssassin's Children of the Hist, Children of the Pariah, and Project ja'Kha-jay.
- HD Cubemap Collection by gUISTASSI for the eye cubemaps, and Khisartin's Eyes mod 3 for the eye normal map.
- Racial Body Morphs by OnHolyServiceBound.

*) I know that my character style is very hecking niche. No, this won't fit the vanilla purist folks who only use high poly vanilla heads and high poly vanilla hairs, and no, this also won't fit the extremely super-modded bombshell waifu enjoyers. I'm genuinely surprised, and eternally grateful, that some people actually like this mod at all!
When my LE died and I switched over to SE for good, I've found several (amazing!) lore-friendly high poly vanilla head NPC overhauls right here on Nexus, but I'm also a nitpicker at heart and, over the years, found many faults within Skyrim's character creation system that not even high poly vanilla heads could fix. Like the shape of the eyelashes, and the inability to make detailed philtrum or nostrils without straight up destroying your preset on the Sculpt tab. Charmers of the Reach filled in that gap, but a lot of CotR-based overhauls I've seen on Nexus don't really gel with me. So I, being the masochist that I am, took it upon myself to overhaul Skyrim NPCs myself using CotR, within the style I want.
It's mostly complete right now. The bandits addon is just for fun. I might add more NPCs if I feel like it.
