About this mod

Allows you to use JK's Fort Dawnguard and Immersive Fort Dawnguard at the same time. Yes there is an optional plugin to disable JK's roofs.

I thought JK's Fort Dawnguard was cool and wanted to use it. The problem was I was already using Immersive Fort Dawnguard and didn't want to swap. About 100 hours of work later and here we are. Please bother me if you have an issue with my patches not the original mod authors. These patches were made by me ChickenMike (with lots of help from Czasior) and not jkrojmal or Grantyboy050 All plugins are .ESL flagged .ESPs so they won't take up a place in your load order.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU ADD THESE PATCHES TO A NEW GAME. To quote robertgk2017 "Modding is illegal post character start." The main patch absolutely will not work on a game in progress. The other patches might but this is neither recommended nor supported. 


Chances are other patches made for either JK's Fort Dawnguard or Immersive Fort Dawnguard will not work with my merge. The only patch that I confirmed to work with my mod was the Amulets of Skyrim patch on Janquel's hub page. If you find another patch that works please tell me so I can add it to the mod page.

Do not use the IFD patch from the Glorious Doors of Skyrim - Worldspace Compatibility with my mod because I removed that wall in its entirety and you'll end up with floating objects. 

All of the patches in the FOMOD should be load order agnostic, including the main one. I am 99% sure this is unnecessary, however, the following load order is recommended:

JK's Fort Dawnguard - IFD Patch.esp

Please note that just because I didn't patch a mod, does not necessarily mean it is compatible. If I missed something just ask.

My Fort Dawnguard Annex patch as well as its combo with LOTD are separate downloads. You need both. They need to load after my mystic condenser patch. The Praedy's Door + Annex patch that is also a separate download. It needs to load after the patch from the FOMOD. I'll fold these patches into my FOMOD in a way that is load order agonostic in version 1.5. These patches we're made by Tridius2 and Citachi0 made the combo patch. Go check their stuff out!


If you want to use Palaces and Castles Enhanced SSE with my mashup you need Palaces and Castles Enhanced SSE - Vanillafied Locations (PCE-VL)
It needs to load in the following order:
Palaces Castles Enhanced.esp
PCE-VL FortDawnguard.esp
JK's Fort Dawnguard.esp
fortdawnguardimmersive.esp
JK's Fort Dawnguard - IFD Patch.esp

Please note that this is not PCE being merged into my mod but rather all changes made by it reverted back to vanilla so the other mods can then overwrite that. Actually merging it in is more work than my current mental health can handle at the moment. Maybe eventually?

FAQ

Q:How is the performance of this mod?
A: I had minimal frame loss using it, but I have a very expensive computer. I've optimized everything to the best of my ability. I'm sure someone smarter than me could do much better. It preforms much better than JK + Ryn Whiterun Outskirts which was the most useful baseline I could come up with. 

Q:Why is the lighting weird in spots?
A: Skyrim is an old game with a well documented issue where in no more than 4 light sources can impact a single object. I am by no means a lighting expert and there are a lot of lights between these two mods. Chances are I didn't catch them all. I recommend using Light Limit Fix

Q:Do these patches work with my game version?
A:I have not updated my Creation Kit yet so as far as I am aware these patches should work with all game versions. 

Q:Why do these patches require the free CC?
A:Because they're required by USSEP, which is required by Immersive Fort Dawnguard. If I can figure out how to do it without literally remaking the entire mod I will but otherwise all my attempts to do it have caused the game to crash on when you enter the cell/worldspace. Maybe I can get it to work?

Q:Wow these patches and addons sure look complicated to do how did you make them?
A:Way too many hours in the CK and SSEEdit. Janquel's guide is an invaluable resource and if you're interested in making mods like this check it out. If I can do it you can too!

Q:How much work was this?
A:A lot. Steam says about 65 hours in the CK, plus probably another 15ish in SSEEdit plus another 25+ in game for testing/screenshots/FOMOD. 

Q:What are you doing next?
A:maybe a couple small things but ideally a giant break from Skyrim for a bit. 

Q:Will you be doing another massive mashup like this one at some point?
A:Maybe, but not for a very long time. This patch was exhausting and I need a break from any sort of big project for a long while. 

Q:Why do the landscapes look so bad in your screenshots?
A:Because I'm too lazy to run DynDOLOD

Q:Did you make this just so you'd learn the layout of Fort Dawnguard?
A:Yes

Q:Did it work?
A:No. This place is a maze. 

Q:Whats in the file archive?
A:Like 7 previous versions with horrific documentation. 

Q:Do you take patch requests?
A:My primary reason for making patches is personal use but if I can make the patch quickly I'll consider it. Just Ask. I don't bite I promise. 

Q:You haven't had any recent activity on Nexus and I need to get a hold of you, how can I do that?
A:I check Nexus VERY regularly so I don't expect this to be an issue but @ChickenMike in either Ryn or Janquel's discords and I should see it. I'm also in a bunch of other discords, but I check those two the most regularly.

Q:Is there a way to know what patches and fixes are coming to this mod in the next update?
A:I keep my WIP changelog as the pinned comment on the nexus page along with a todo list that I may or may not get to in any given update. Check it occasionally!
