About this mod

Port of Jokerine's Freshwater Cave Player Home from Oldrim to SSE.
A tiny cave home somewhere along the shore of Lake Ilinalta.

Permissions and credits
This is a port of the Freshwater Cave Player Home from original Skyrim to SSE by Jokerine.  All credits go to her for the design and implementation.  Many thanks for allowing open permission to port her mods to SSE.  The original mod can be found here:

Freshwater Cave Player Home
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The .esp has been saved in form 44.  Cleaning was not necessary as Jokerine did this with TES5Edit with the original mod.  I ran the azzendiz water fix script through xEdit and it corrected 2 records relating to water seams in the area.  Users of Realistic Water Two by isoku should not have any problems at all.  The cave home does have a custom helmet that was included in the original mod.  Please refer to the picture gallery if you have a hard time finding it.  This mod is a straight conversion from Oldrim and all meshes and textures have been run through the latest version of SSE NifOptimizer (3.0.5) for compatibility with SSE.  Jokerine stated that this mod is offered as-is with no support at all.  I will try and provide as much help as I can.  Please let me know if you have any issues with the file.  I installed this in my game and I had no issues whatsoever and the map marker showed up for me with no problems.  You will have to discover the cave before you can fast travel to it.

My cave textures do look different from the original because I am using the new Re-texture mod by ClearanceClarence called CC's HQ Mines Redone.  I highly recommend this if you have a computer that can run 4k re-texture mods and can be found here:

Here is the description from Jokerine from the Oldrim page:

Hello everybody! This little mod adds a tiny one-cell free cave home somewhere along the shore of Lake Ilinalta

The file has been cleaned with TES5EDIT, requires no DLC, is fully navmeshed and has no scripts, so it should be safe for everybody to use.
Still, you should always make a backup save before installing ANY mod, in case something goes wrong.

== WHAT ==
Just a small free-to-take cave home for a starting character near Riverwood (yeah, I know, how very original), along the shore of the lake. There is a map marker, but you need to discover it before you can fast travel.

This is basically a small chunk of Embershard Mine that I liked, so I took it out and made it standalone, with some changes and refurbishments. As this is intended for a starting character, there is nothing in here that you could not theoretically grab and take with you from the dungeons around Riverwood and Whiterun.

There is a bedroll, a cooking pot, a chopping block, a Corundum ore vein, a shrine of Dibella (just a hanging amulet, I am not going to make other versions) and a bunch of safe storage. The water is deep enough to swim. A clam, barnacles and some fish and insects will spawn in it. There is also a fishing rod that you can harvest. A unique piece of apparel can be foundin here, too.

Please note that I haven't tested to see how the new shrine will work with mods that add animations to shrines, such as Pray at Shrines -- I'm using AE Animations in the picture.

So what happened to the previous owner? Who knows! There is a journal you can read to get an idea.

As this was something I made for myself, I WILL NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES. I will not add to it or subtract from it. The mod is offered as-is.

== KNOWN ISSUES AND COMPATIBILITY ==
The cave is really small, so there's not a lot of room to move around. Some decorations are static to help prevent clutter from flying everywhere.
There are no idle markers for followers because this is just meant to be for the player.

About compatibility, I honestly don't know. There are just so many mods that add buildings to the area that it's only natural that real estate is at a premium. So, if you find a problem, please let me know so I can list it here.

== HOW ==
To install, extract the contents of your downloaded file to your "Steam/SteamApps/Common/SkyrimSpecialEdition/Data" folder. Then activate the mod through your preferred launcher by ticking the checkbox next to the esp. Or you can use your Mod Manager of choice to download the mod automatically. To uninstall, simply delete the files from your Data folder, and you're good to go.

== FAQ ==
- THIS THING IS TOO BASIC! I DEMAND YOU ADD
[insert elaborate game mechanics that would require hours of implementation]
OR I WON'T DOWNLOAD/ENDORSE/GIVE YOU IMAGINARY INTERNET POINTS!!
- I don't care if you download this or not. I know I am not enough of a unique snowflake to be the first one to want something like this, so I wanted to share. I designed the mod so it would be very simple, and that's how it will stay. In other words...

- I hate [thing] and [thing] and [thing]! You should have done [thing] and [thing] instead! And while you're at it remove [thing] and [thing] and add [thing] and [thing]! And [thing] is NOT LORE FRIENDLY! FIX THIS!
- You don't get to make demands. If you don't like something in the mod, use the console to disable it, remove it with the Creation Kit or TESEDIT, or sell it off. In other words...

- I hate things being static! I wanna pick things up!
- There are three main reasons why things are static. First, we all know how fidgety collision is in this game and clutter would be flying around all the time. Second, it would greatly hurt framerate to have so many little things moving around at once. And third, it gives me much more freedom when it comes to decoration. In other words...

- I'm lagging all over the place! Help!
- Get a better computer. The cell is tiny and if you're having trouble it's a miracle you're even running Skyrim to start with.

- Can I use some of these files on my own mod?
- A bunch of things I'm using are already modder's resources, so just look around the credits tab to look for what you'd like to use. If you cannot find the thing you want there, it probably means I made it myself. Feel free to ask if you're not sure.

- Is this compatible with [insert mod here]?
- If you have a mod that happens to place something in the same spot I did there will be overlapping. If you find any conflicts, please let me know so I can list them here.

- How come the mod looks different in my game than your screenshots?
- I am using several retextures in my own game and my own SweetFX preset, so results may vary.

- The mod is awful/glitchy/buggy/etc. I am going to uninstall it and I must let everybody know!
- Sad to see you go~

- The mod sucks!
- So does a vaccuum cleaner ;)

Disclaimer:
This mod is not to be sold under any circumstances.  Jokerine made that very clear in her profile.  If you see this mod being sold anywhere,  its an illegal copy and should bereported immediately to a Nexus moderator.    I am not the original Author,  Jokerine is.
If you want to show appreciation,  please consider endorsing the original mod.  If you like this mod,  please endorse it.

Final Thoughts:
This is another simple port from Jokerine that worked out really well.  I have other Jokerine mods to port over around the holidays.  These are themed and will be brought over at the right time barring any issues with meshes,  CTD's and worldspace issues and other mods altering the areas.  Let me know if there is any issues with the file.  Enjoy the port and good luck.
