“When one chooses to walk the Way of the Mandalore, you are both hunter and prey.”
--The Armorer

In the ancient land of Atmora, there once stood a kingdom called Mandalore. Great warriors and metalsmiths, this kingdom refused to bow to the Dragon Cult, and fought for ages against the early kingdoms of Man. But as the great frost took Atmora, Mandalore was broken, and its warriors fled to Tamriel with the rest of their race. Scattered across this new land, hunted by the Dragon Priests, these warriors hid from the world, taking work as mercenaries and bounty hunters. When the Dragons fell, and Skyrim became a free kingdom, Mandalore rose again. They served the kings of old, fighting alongside their ancient kin, keeping their traditions alive. But as the ages passed, the legends of the Mandalorians were lost and forgotten. Yet the ancient stories persist, and the secrets of the ancient warriors still wait to be found once more...
To begin your journey, enter the Candlehearth Hall in Windhelm. There you will find a journal by an adventurer that went searching for clues about an ancient weapon that will lead you to a hidden Mandalorian Covert.

This mod adds a whole arsenal of "Mandalorian" weapons and armors, all based around the vanilla Ancient Nord Armor and designed to be as lore-friendly as possible. These ancient relics can be found in a number of super-secret Coverts scattered around Skyrim. Rusted and ancient, these relics can be re-forged and polished anew, but only after learning the secrets of Be'skar. Once the armors have been re-forged, they can be painted in a large number of color schemes (based on a few popular Mandalorians of legend.) There are also a few unique items that can be found.
You will find:
-Be'skar Weapons
-Light & Heavy Be'skar Armor
-Painted Variants
-Heavy Crossbows
-One Handed Crossbows
-Vambrace Flamethrower
-Saberdarts
-Whistling Birds
-Pulse Staffs
-Blaster Staffs
-Energy Shields
-Capes
-The Darksaber
-Unique Mandalorian Coverts
-Jetpacks (LIMITED JUMP-JET FUNCTIONALITY ONLY, NO FLYING)
-Fibercord Whips and Grappling Hooks
-Mythosaur-bone Armors
-Mythosaur-bone Weapons
-Summonable Mythosaur Mount & Follower
-Summonable Basilisk War Droid Mount & Follower
-Clone Troopers
-Sith Troopers
-Je'dai

-There are a number of benefits to Be'skar armor. The armor is heavily resistance to damage and magical attacks. It also has the ability to deflect blows and attacks back on the attacker. Be'skar weapons have a permanent "vibroblade" ability that will ignore 50% of armor. These benefits can only be unlocked by re-forging the ancient versions.
-There are a number of maps and lore books scattered around that will clue you in to the locations of the other coverts.
-The Coverts are pretty hard to find, and are high up in the mountains. Here are their closest locations:
>Gloombound Mine
>Avargunde
>Arkngthamz
>Bthardamz
>Darkshade Cavern
>Icewater Jetty
>Mortrag Peak (Solstheim)
-You cannot re-forge Be'skar until you read the book, "Secrets of Be'skar." It can be found on the corpse of The Armorer.
-Equipping any Mandalorian Vambrace will add both the flamethrower, the grappling hook (both technically no-cost spells), and the energy shield via a simple script. Unequipping will remove these items.
-Equipping any Mandalorian Helmet will add three vision abilities: Night Eye, Detect Life, and Detect Dead (all as spells/powers.) Unequipping will remove these spells.
-The jetpacks have a limited functionality. When equipped, it will add two spells. One is a single-use "rocket" that will fire an explosive firebolt. The other is a sort of jump-jet ability that launches the player forwards and upwards.
-Armor cannot be painted until it has first been re-forged and polished.
-Be'skar items can ONLY be forged at the Skyforge in Whiterun, but they can be improved anywhere. (You will also find two "Mandalorian" forges that will also let you work Be'skar.)
-The cloaks and hoods have been designed specifically to fit over the Mandalorian Heavy Armor. They may look a little wonky on other armors.
-Whistling Birds and Saberdarts are technically scrolls, so they will get used up. You can always forge more, however.
-When installing, you might get a message to overwrite a script called "MANDGauntletScript". This is just a simple script that adds/removes spells when you equip/unequip an item, and I use it in several of my mods. Just go ahead and let it overwrite; it shouldn't change anythign.
Custom Paint
I have added a system to allow you to customize your own Mandalorian armors. There is a file available for download under Misc that will give you a whole bunch of Photoshop texture files, complete with layer information for various materials and paint colors. These are all saved in the Customs folder (Skyrim\Data\textures\Mandalore\Customs). All you have to do is unzip the file (or let your mod manager install it), open up whichever texture you want to edit, tweak paint colors however you like, and save as a .dds file in that folder (replacing whatever texture is in there). Then, in game, you can paint your armor with the "Custom" color option, and whatever changes you made to the textures will show up in game. No Creation Kit needed!

-I did something wrong when creating the Mandalorian corpses. If you attack them directly, it may cause a CTD. I haven't figured out exactly why (I think it's something to do with blood maps) but it should be find if you just don't violently attack them for no reason? (I'm pretty sure this has been fixed.)
-The jetpacks tend to clip through the capes.
-There is no specific helmet model for beast races; but it DOES work. Just imagine they can squish their snout up in there somehow.
-It may be a little difficult to reach the Coverts because they are up on the cliffs, but you *should* be able to get up there. (Made easier when you have a jetpack or fibercord.)
-A few of the items (mainly helmets) do not have matching ground item models, so they may look different until you actually put them on.
-The jetpack boost doesn't always fire correctly, especially if you try to spam it quickly.
-The Basilisks can be ridden using Dragonborn's "Bend Will" dragon-riding system. Sometimes this doesn't work correctly, but that's a Bethesda issue.
-The book tells you that you need three Dwarven Oil to re-awaken the forge; you actually need FOUR.

-Actual Jetpack Flight
-More Color Variants
-Greater Customization (Individual Armor Pieces?)
-"Summon Energy Shield" spell, instead of just adding a static item.
-Actual Living Mandalorians
-Ability to rebuilt a Covert and hire followers.
-Make Basilisks fully flyable.
-More "Modern" (screen-accurate) armors.

Here are a few essential mods to get the full experience:
>Obviously.
Pull Mastery - Xzax
>This is the best implementation of a "grappling cable" that I've seen. There's no way I could do better. (This has now been integrated into this mod; both mods not required.)
The Darksaber - dbmacy01
>This is a "proper" lightsaber version, not just a black sword like mine. I was trying not to go FULL sci-fi, but this is too good to pass up.
Dwemer Jetpack - Grungehog
>This makes slightly more sense lore-wise than mine. I might add some sort of patch to integrate this with the actual Mandalorian models.
Real Flying - Anton0028
>This would probably be the cleanest way to implement a proper flying mechanic.
Levitate Toggle
>This is one of the simplest flying mods I've seen and would make a lot of sense for jetpack combat. Uses your magic to fly, which doesn't *vague mumbling* lore-friendly but I think it could work.

As always I could never do this without all the modders that have come before and created such amazing content. A million thanks for doing all the hard stuff!
