49 carefully balanced recipes that use either wild plants, fresh plants, and/or prewar packaged ingredients mostly inspired by New English cuisine.

This mod aims to make wild plants and packaged foods more useful by giving each of them at least 1, typically 2, different recipes that can use them while drawing heavily from the real cuisine of Boston, Maine, Acadia, and the larger New England area.

Pairs well with my Fully Functional Wild & Fresh Crops mod.

Summary
  • 49 New Recipes total, roughly half originating from New English cuisine
  • 2 New Categories, Meals and Gourmet.
  • Meals contains recipes that use 3 or more ingredients that aren't soup. 28 total, 4 of which are vanilla moved out of Roasts.
  • Gourmet contains recipes that are complex or use very rare ingredients. Often comes with more unusual effects. 15 Total.
  • Roasts receives 4 new recipes and is now for basic recipes that use just 1 or 2 ingredients.
  • Soups has 4 new additions. Beverages and Utilities both get 1 new addition.
  • Vendor leveled list injection via script. Not all the new foods, but many of them.

The only tweaks to vanilla references were carrying over a few UFO4P fixes and renaming Yao Guai Roast to Baked Yao Guai due to it being moved from Roasts to Meals due to it having more than 2 ingredients. So there wont be much in the way of compatibility issues.

Design Philosophy
To balance the foods I added up the health and cap values of the ingredients and then multiplied it by a number derived from the amount of ingredients and the rarity of those ingredients. The result was most recipes have values ranging from +20% to +100% that of their added base values.

Additionally every recipe uses at least 1 wild, fresh, or packaged ingredient. Often multiple at once. The various wild flowers in the game were treated as herbs/spices when present in a dish.
