Introduction

Do you have Jayserpa's amazing "Dirt and Blood" in your modlist? (you should!) Are you more concerned about your Dragonborn's hygienic state than your own, but you still want your game to be immersive so don't want cleaning to be too easy?

Well, you are in luck!

This mod expands the functionality of Dirt and Blood. It makes your ability to clean yourself more restricted, but at the same time gives you plenty of options to bypass that restriction 'immersively' so you can make sure your character still go to bed clean and fresh after being covered in dirt and blood.

Features

Restrictions
1) You now need water to clean yourself.

• Uses PO3's universal water detection
  

2) Cleaning without soap is not as effective, and you won't get squeaky clean without a soap (Optional, but recommended).

• "Wash and Rinse" power now never uses soap. But it will never get you to be 100% clean.
  

 
More Options
1) You now have 6 more soaps that give you a small buff for a while!

• Functionality of the buff is the same as that of "Keep it Clean" or "More Soaps for Dirt and Blood".
  

2) If there is no water nearby, stay clean with washcloth!

• You can turn linenwraps into pieces of clean cloth (use tanning rack). Clean cloth and Soap can be turned into washcloth at a cooking pot.
• Washcloth allows you to wash yourself without a body of water, but the good smell is not as strong and it will fade faster (less/shorter buff).
  

3) Use water in your inventory to clean yourself with Sunhelm or iNeed! (Now with LastSeed and RND too!)

• With Sunhelm and iNeed, you don't need to craft washcloth. Just having some water and a piece of clean cloth is enough to use your soap. This will clean your body all the way, but the buff will be less powerful.
• Or just use water and clean cloth to scrub yourself without soap. You won't be as clean though.
  

4) Manage your dirty laundry!

• Using washcloth or clean cloth to wash yourself will give you back dirty cloth.
• You can wash the dirty cloth by clicking on them in your inventory while standing in water.
• Or you can boil them to clean them using a cooking pot!
  

Chose Your Own Experience
1) Use the full version to enjoy the intended mod experience as explained above.

• Water restriction, soap requirement for full cleaning, partial cleaning with water, soaps and washcloth, and dirty cloth management all included in one mod.
  

2) Turn off 'Soap is required for bath' option for lighter experience.

• Turning off this option will make cleaning without soap as effective as with soap, allowing you to ignore soaps if you wish.
• You may still chose to craft soaps for minor buffs they provide.
• You may still chose to craft some washcloth with the soaps so that you can wash without water.
• You can still enjoy using bottled water as your water source if you are using a survival module.
  

Overview

• Making a soap is now more rewarding, because you can't get fully clean without it.
• Not making a soap is not too punishing either, because you can still scrub yourself with just water.
• Water restriction / soap requirement and washcloth addition / bottle water integration should balance each other.

Installation
Install the FOMOD like any other mod.
Installing mid-game should be fine.
If you already had Dirt and Blood running, just know that the soaps that already existed in game before installation of this mod will most likely not be affected by this mod.

*Know that I just applied the same change made by the original patch to my script, so if the original patch had a problem, this mod won't be able to fix it. (There seems to be some issues even in the original patch, such as missing soap animated object, and it's the same with this patch.)
I recommend getting the DnBE animation patch instead, which patches the animation to use Baka's animation with proper animated object and much more!

Q: Is this mod compatible with ________?
This mod does not alter any of the vanilla assets/records. If the mod in question is compatible with Dirt and Blood, the most likely answer is yes.
Mods that alters the behavior of Dirt and Blood (overriding script, altering esp records) might have some incompatibilities that need to be checked in xEdit.
Dirt and Blood texture mods are all good to go.

Q: Inn Soaps and InnSoaps - Dirt and Blood?
'Inn Soaps' mod adds inn specific soaps to certain inns.
'InnSoaps - Dirt and Blood' mod makes all inn keepers sell Dirt and Blood plain soap.
As of 1.2.0 Dirt and Blood Expanded includes an option to use both mods. The load order of the two doesn't matter as long as you load the patch after the two mods.

Q: Can you make a survival module for _________(need mod)?
If it's not the CC survival mod, leave me a link and I'll have a look.
I can't make a module for CC survival mod because my set up is SE. Making a survival module shouldn't be too hard though, so if someone is willing to make the module on my behalf, I'll be more than happy to help!

Q: Why do I have to make washcloth at a cooking pot?
Without a survival module, there is no water source I can utilize. So I made the crafting at the cooking pot necessary in order to emulate the need for water.
So just imagine that washcloth is basically a "wet towel and soap bundle" made at the cooking pot with hot water.

Q: (Survival module) Why do I still need clean cloth when I have bottled water?
Have you tried to wash yourself with just a jug of warm water? I have. (There was a water heater break down incident in the middle of winter. Fun time.)
It's insanely difficult to wash yourself without something to evenly distribute the flow of water like a showerhead or washcloth because without it you can't manage the waterflow well and you end up using the whole jug after only three or four pours.
You need a piece of cloth. Trust me on this one.

Q: Some of the messages are ungrammatical / awkward?
That's because I am not a native English speaker. If you find any ungrammaticality or think some of the wordings could be better, help me out by letting me know!

Q: This seems all too complicated. Do I really want this?
If this is not your tub of bath water, you don't need to use this mod. In my opinion, the original mod is fine as it is too.
If you are using a needs mod, you can turn off the 'soap is required for bath' option in MCM to just ignore the soap aspect of this mod and use its needs mod integration module. I mainly made this mod because I wanted to use bottled water to wash myself so I didn't need to go to bed bloody when camping.

Q: This mod is not working?
Let me know if this mod is not working out for you and I'll do my best to find the problem and fix it. Although this mod is pretty much self-contained and I tested it as best as I could, there could still be some bugs that I missed. Your reports are greatly appreciated.

Recommended Mods

All the mods that this mod comes with compatibility patch for are recommended.
Mods that adds bath to Inns. I personally use Simple Inn Bath because of its high compatibility.
If you want something more simple, Rent a Bath is also an option.

Known Issues

Inn-Soaps issues
There is a bug where soaps bought from inns won't work sometimes. This is a bug present in the both inn-soaps mods originally. If this happens, simply dropp the soap on the ground and pick it up again. That should solve the issue.
This bug is a result of Onequipped script interacting with how Skyrim handles items in the inventory. Long story short, because skyrim doesn't actually load the items that has only existed in the container, the script can not be attached properly until the model is loaded. This seems to be a vanilla issue and I have not been able to find a proper solution.
While this is just a minor annoyance, I'm still trying to see if I can find a solution to this.
Meanwhile, I've noticed that this bug is prone to happen if you buy multiple soaps at once at an inn. I've yet to face the bug when only buying a single soap.

Detailed Description

Performance and Script Usage
This mod contains several scripts, but they are basically just different variances of the original Dirt and Blood's script, intentionally made close to the original script. These scripts fire once when you wash and ends when you finish washing. There is no constant running script added.
Using this mod should not be any different from just using the original Dirt and Blood performance-wise.

Changes to the Base Mod Features
'Wash and Rinse' less power is now an ability to scrub yourself with water without soap. It doesn't clean you all the way: It cleans all the blood but will never clean your dirt completely. This means that it's just a little more effective at cleaning you than swimming in water. You can still wash yourself even when you run out of soap, but you still have reasons to make some.
Turning off the 'Soap is required' will make Wash and Rinse as effective as using plain soap, rendering plain soap redundant by itself.
