1. If you are installing this mod mid-game and had Dirt and Blood running, make sure your 'soap is required for bath' option in MCM is set to what you want!
2.If the soaps in your inventory doesn't work after updating this mod / applying a new patch, one way to solve the issue is dropping them on the ground and picking them up again.
3. (1.4.0 and newer versions) If you are using EVG Conditional Idles, goto the meshes/actors/character/animations/DynamicAnimationReplacer/_CustomConditions folder. In folders:
6001901 6001902 6002102 6002101
open the _conditions.txt files and add the following:
AND NOT HasMagicEffect("Dirt and Blood Expanded.esp"|0x00000E5D)
4. Regarding the DBC(LL version of the Dirt and Blood) patch DBC fundamentally changes how Dirt and Blood works, and so to accommodate it, the patch had to majorly change the script of DNBE as well. I've also included a bug fix of the original DBC mod (when you first start the game or reset the mod, you don't get the visual overlay). So there's been a lot of changes going on in that patch. However, since I don't play with that mod I didn't get to test it as much as I'd like. If there is any bug, please let me know. If you are using the patch, the Load order should be: Dirt and Blood DBC (LL version Dirt and Blood) DnBE DBC Expanded patch

1.5.0a DBC Expanded patch 1.5.0a includes additional fixes for the DBC mod scripts to make it more faithful to the origianal mod and make sense to use it with DnBE. The original swimming/raining partial wash function makes your status to dirt level 1, unless you were clean. (bloods all become dirt1, dirt2,3,4 becomes dirt1) DBC makes it so that rain/swimming washes away one level of dirt/blood no matter what level you are in. This update makes it so that the DBC behaves the same as the original mod. This fix is included in order to make sure the player can't get fully clean without soap, as per the mod design of DNBE.
I can't use the soaps I craft unless I drop them (lol) and pick them up first. This happened for both the regular and Red Mountain Soap types, when I crafted them in stacks of 5 and 10.
This has been an almost continuous bug with every version of this mod I've used and I've never found a fix. I believe somehow the script association for the soaps is only initialized on creation or pick up....so if you make soap then save your game, exit the game and then come back you have to drop the soaps to re-initialize the scripts. I haven't dug into it myself yet but given as no ones actually fixed this....I might look at it eventually cause its kind of a minor low key annoyance having to drop the soap every time I reload my save to be able to wash up.
Effectively there does not seem to be a init call on simulation start in the script itself, its only activated on creation or pick up.
If you're open to suggestions, it makes sense that submerging in water with soap would be best, and that washing with water and soap and a washcloth would be the next best thing, but I wish that there were an option to wash with the wash basins in every inn, rather than just bottles of water from needs mods.
Idk, maybe that's a pain to implement, it would just be so much more believable and convenient to wake up in an inn, actually get to use the wash basins that are everywhere but useless in vanilla, and start the day like anyone else who couldn't afford servants to move and heat large volumes of water.
Front page mentions iNeed Continued is supported with a patch. The installer only mentions iNeed. Anyone know if this works for Continued? Can't find a patch on any of the DNBE related sites.
It would be a great quality of life change if the soaps could show up in the cooking list when the CACO checkmark for ingredient conditions is off. I cannot remember all of the ingredients needed for everything, so having them show up, but greyed out is a huge help
Does anyone have any direct/personal experience using the DBCE patch?
I am currently running .1170 with the latest version of DnB and DBE, along with some of the newer texture remakes and the Animation patch. As far as I can tell, everything is presently working as intended and appears to be playing nicely together (thank you!).
I have wanted for some time to install something like DBC from LL, but have been a bit afraid of breaking what currently works.
DBC itself hasn't been updated in a long time, and as pointed out it fundamentally changes some of how DnB works under the hood.
DBC also lists another mod ("SLACS") as a hard requirement. SLACS hasn't be updated nor apparently maintained in an even longer time.
Reading through the LL threads, there may be some unofficial/third-party updates to one or both, but it's really not clear what is the real, present state of affairs.
Is adding DBC really as simple as: Installing SLACS 0.3.0b Installing DBC 0.1.3 Installing the DBCE patch Installing the Animation DBCE patch Fixing the load order according to the sticky
and then expecting DBE to work just like it is now?
Answering my own question: Yes, it might be that simple. On first glance it looks like it works okay but need to test a bit more (SLACS includes a utility to add "C" but getting dirty and or bloody quickly for testing purposes is a little trickier).
Thank you for making this, it's just what I wanted from DnB. I am rather confused about one thing, though. I installed this yesterday (with the CACO patch) and it was working all good. Got animal tallow from troll fat. Took a break, came back and now I can only make troll tallow and I need fox fat instead to make animal tallow. No idea what happened inbetween, but it confused the heck outta me at first until I figured it out.
I don't mind the sudden change, and it's nothing "game breaking", but just an observation.
Dirt and BloodVersion 2.33 has been updated to 2.33. Is it safe to not update this mod?The change log for Version 2.33 says that mods that modify the MCM of Dirt and Blood might need an update.

Please let me know if this breaks anything. Preliminary testing went alright.

I want to update everything to 1.6.1130, and most of the mods I use are now compatible, but I won't upgrade without DnB Expanded.
