If there were a Select Pip-Boy, this would basically be it. Check out the video below for the little intro thing but also a demo of how it plays in game.





This Pip-Boy was actually a community effort created by my YouTube subscribers and Facebook and Twitter followers! Last time we made the Select Shotgun. This time around, we put together a big list of possible design options and everyone voted for their favorite features. We combined them to make up this new Pip-Boy. We will definitely do it again so check out the links. See poll results below to see the top voted for features this time around.






This mod is a replacer, it replaces the vanilla Pip-Boy 3000 for the player but does not for other NPCs. Features all new animations as well as several customization categories that can be crafted at the armor workbench. You can also craft the Pip-Boy W.S. for companions or whoever and make them equip it.

I highly recommend the Crafting Highlight Fix mod by reg2k so you can see what you're crafting *requires F4SE*




Installs like normal with NMM or Vortex. Manual install is fine too as this mod uses archives. This mod does not require any DLC, F4SE, or other mods.

The models and textures of this mod are more on the High Quality side. Test out how your PC handles it before committing just to be safe.

There are multiple file versions you can download.

Full- The entire mod with all the customization available in 2k and 1k texture options

Lite- Just the basic Pip-Boy itself with no customization besides Emblems. Only in ESL. Available in 2k and 1k texture options. This is also the Xbox version.

Xbox- Low Quality and High Quality versions available. Older Xbox's should use the LQ while current gen can use the HQ.

Pip2000 Replacer- Available in 2k and 1k texture options. This version is for those who are currently using the Pip-Boy 2000 Mk VI and want to switch to this one. This newer Pip-Boy was built off the old one intentionally so users can safely switch to the new one mid-playthrough without damaging their save games. To keep it safe, the plugin names are matching. However, once you switch to this mod you can't go back. This is because of the addition of lots of new forms. So make sure it works for you before committing it to your save.

Loose File version- This one is the main Full ESP version but without archives, straight loose files. Users can also swap out the plugin for any of the other plugins since they all share the same file paths. But only commit one plugin to your game!



Other files:

Substance Painter Project File- This misc file is for those who want to create their own textures for their own use or uploading to the Nexus. Requires Adobe Substance 3D Painter 8.2.0 or later.

Pip-Boy Mesh FBX- And finally, this file is for those want to create their own textures but don't have access to Substance Painter and just want the model to import into their texturing program of choice. Or other use too.



F.A.Q. Time

I have some Creation Club paints for my Pip-Boy 3000. Can I use it on this mod?
No. Those CC paints are for the Pip-Boy 3000 and not the Pip-Boy WS. How skins are applied are fundamentally different from this mod.

I have the older Pip-Boy 2000 MK VI mod, can I switch to this one mid-game?
Yes! There is an optional file version for you to download to safely switch to the new Pip-Boy. Read more under Installation.

When I use the gold material options, they come out flat and dull??
The Gold materials are produced by vanilla cube maps, they create the golden shiny effect without increasing the file size of the mod. Mods that alter those cube maps, or even some ENB's, can mess with the textures this mod relies on. This also goes for the Bronze, Copper, and Tempered textures.

The filaments on my Pip-Boy W.S. aren't so vibrant or also look flat?
Kind of similar to the previous question, ENB's can change how emissive these filaments end up in game. I've confirmed it looks good in vanilla Fallout 4 as well as the ENB I use. I don't entirely know which one I use though lol.

What's the deal with the 2k and 1k texture options?
Both file versions are high quality BC7 compression but there is still a substantial quality difference between these two options given how the 1k option is only a quarter of the density of the 2k option. You can swap between the matching two and see which one works best for you. That wasn't supposed to rhyme. But the plugins are the same so it's safe to do so.





Likely would not be compatible with other Pip-Boy replacing mods except for the Pip-Boy 2000 Mk VI (Use Replacer version, read under INSTALLATION section).
Pip-Boy Customization Framework: Some users have noticed some wonkiness with this mod installed, depending on load order it may or may not have an effect on the Pip-Boy W.S.
Creation Club paints: CC paints are for the Pip-Boy 3000 and not the Pip-Boy W.S.
Pip-Boy Flashlight: I do not currently have a patch for this mod yet but will look into it.

I'd like to get a proper version of this mod working with Pipboy Flashlight.
Problem is, that's a really old out of date mod that reverses some changes that Bethesda made to the Pipboy after that mod came out. So I need to find some time to get in there and try and get the two mods to work together. I had hit up the mod author some time ago on my last Pipboy mod but they never replied so no big deal.
My understanding is that the mod will work fine in 1st person maybe but not in 3rd.

And maybe more texture options or another Category.
I was kind of thinking of a screen background color change option instead of the default dark green. But there are mods on this site that can change that background that will work with this mod too.
