Hello and welcome everyone!
 
This mod combines my mods Slightly Cuter Character Sprites and Slightly Edited Portraits and gives characters seasonal outfits.  Mods with the same aesthetic for East Scarp and SVE are also available.
 
This mod was heavily inspired by the dynamic NPC clothing system of Longevity and Seasonal Villager Outfits. All Villagers have one outfit per season (+winter outdoor) and FlowerDance and SpiritsEve costumes. Spouses also have outfits for all additional festivals. I'm in the process of updating the rest of the villagers with outfits as well . Please refrain from asking about when they will be done. 
The farmer can also be configured to change into seasonal wear and wear long or short-sleeved clothing as well as boots or half-shoes.

I will not change outfits, portraits or sprites!


Compatibility 

  • This mod is now compatible with other portrait or sprite mods. Simply set the characters you don't wish to use to "false". Portraits and sprites cannot be selected independently. However, you can simply delete the "Portraits" folder from the mod if you only wish to use the sprites.
  • It is compatible with Get Glam and other mods that configure the farmer sprite. Be certain to follow the config instructions below.
  • It is also compatible with SVE. However, SVE uses its own sprites and portraits for Marlon, Morris and Gunther with additional animations. That means that the cuter version will not be visible for these characters for you if you use SVE.  Download Seasonal Outfits - Slightly Cuter Aesthetic for SVE if you want a consistent look.

Configs

"NoNose": "True, False"
This decides if the character sprites have noses or not. Set it to "false" if you want the characters to have noses.

"HarveyFacialHair": "True, False"
This decides if Harvey will have a beard or not.

"FestivalOutfits": "True, False"
Decides if characters will wear Flower Dance and Spirit's Eve outfits.

"ExtraOutfits": "True, False"
This decides if some characters will wear additional outfits (aerobics class, work outfits).

"MaruGlasses": "True, False"
Decides if Maru wears red glasses in her overworld sprite.

"FarmerBase": "True, False"
This decides if the farmer base will be changed to match the other characters better. If enabled, the farmer
will have wider legs (approximately the size of the default pants) and their nose will be changed depending on your "NoNose" config. Set it to “false” if you don’t want to use the farmer base or if you have another mod enabled which changes farmer bases, such as Get Glam.

"FemaleShoes": "Flat, Dainty"
Decides if female farmer wears "flat" shoes like Abigail or Robin or "dainty" shoes like Haley.

"SeasonalFarmerBases": "True, False" !!!See Pictures for more info!!!
Decides if the player character's clothing will change depending on the season. "FarmerBase" must be set to "True" to take effect.

"ShirtSpring", "ShirtSummer", "ShirtFall", "ShirtWinter", "ShoesSpring", "ShoesSummer", "ShoesFall", "ShoesWinter":
"ColdWeather, WarmWeather, False"
You can decide for each season what the character will wear for both shirts and boots. "WarmWeather" means half shoes and short sleeved shirts, "Coldweather" means long sleeved shirts and boots. "False" means the character will use the default sprites that are closer to the ones in the vanilla game. "SeasonalFarmerBases" must be set to "True" to take effect.

"IslandSummerClothes": "True, False"
Since on the new Island location it's always summer, you can set this option to "true" if you want your farmer to always wear warm weather clothing on the island. "SeasonalFarmerBases" must be set to "True" to take effect.
 
"WinterIndoorOutdoorOutfits": "IndoorOutdoor, IndoorOnly, OutdoorOnly"
Decides if characters change clothes indoor/outdoor during winter. Consider setting this to "IndoorOnly" or "OutdoorOnly" if you notice any problems during winter in multiplayer.

"SlightlyCuterX": "True, False"
Decides if a character will be affected by the mod or not. Example: Set "SlightlyCuterAbigail" to false if you don't wish to use their cute version. Neither portrait nor sprite will now be loaded.

Known Issues

  •  Using Generic Mod Config Menu doesn't change the farmer base anymore unless you close out of the game and restart it after you made your changes. This is relevant for the "nonose" setting of this mod. Editing the config files still works normally. I'm told this is ultimately an issue with Content Patcher and I can't do anything to fix it.

  • Warm and cold weather outfits for the farmer are buggy right now and will not show up in your game. The workaround using Generic Mod Config Menu doesn't work anymore due to the above issue.  This is an issue with Content Patcher and I can't do anything to fix it. It has been reported and you can read about the bug here. I've been told issues like this are not a priority to fix right now due to updating to 1.6 but pull requests are welcome if you are knowledgeable and would like to help out.
