This is the first project that will be released in multiple video codecs, to provide the user with more control over what they want to use. The video codecs that will be utilised are:
All FMVs are encoded using Software Encoding [CPU].
- HEVC [H265] 4K - 20MB/s - 27.5MB/s
[Best for most systems, isn't demanding.]
- AVC [H264] 4K - 50MB/s - 65MB/s
[Best if you don't like the idea of letting HEVC and AV1 compress videos with low bitrates, that returns adequate frame quality. H264 will have large bitrate.]
- AV1 4K - 12MB/s - 15.4MB/s
For users with RTX 3000, AMD RDNA 2 [not confirmed, idk much about AMD], Intel Xe and Arc GPUs or newer.
[AV1 provides same frame quality as HEVC but chops off about 10-20% file size, recommended for those who have hardware decoding support for AV1].
REQUIRES AV1/HEVC VIDEO CODEC - DO NOT IGNORE THIS
Codecs can be found under Main Files.
You will need either HEVC and/or AV1 video codecs to run these FMVs in-game. The video codecs can be downloaded from MS Store, although the HEVC codec is paid. Though you can find the free but full copy of it under Main Files. Below is the link for the AV1 video codec, that is free in the MS Store.Codecs can be found under Main Files.
AV1 Video Extensions - MS Store [Free]
Make sure you have checked what GPU you have before downloading AV1 encoded videos. If you do not have the supported GPU, your CPU may attempt to decode the video, sacrificing the video performance.
If you ignore this, I will not help you if you suffer from softlock caused by the codecs missing.

REQUIREMENTS
=================================
- At least ~4.5GB of available space in total, for both download and extraction. Final size is 2.15GB.
- 3.5" 5900RPM or better HDD, if the game is installed on a HDD.
=================================
Instructions
=================================
1. Drag and drop NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 folder to your Steam's Common folder. This is typically found in either:
|___
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

OR
|___
X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common
X: - Substitute the X with the partition drive letter.
2. Windows should ask you whether you want to replace the existing files
with the files you've extracted. At this point, let it replace the
files, unless you want to keep a backup of the original video files.
