About this mod

A truly restored Croup Manor player home.

This is a pure & selfish retro style build; homely, suave, functional.
Features: a workspace for one regular settler and one bedroom for a companion.

Requirements
Permissions and credits

Welcome, welcome. Presenting a TSB for a truly restored Croup Manor - just for thine fair self, player, and one companion. (And also a settler, and there's supposedly a guard dog somewhere.)

Kindly note this is my first ever attempt at sharing a build; I'm not at all a modder and most of compatibility things just go right over my head, so a disclaimer upfront - I likely won't know what's wrong or how to fix anything that will not work when you import this into your game, so always remember to save and back up.

The wonderful Febrith Darkstar has explored this TSB in a video!
I couldn't be more grateful and I'm sure you'll also find it to be a helpful run-through if you're considering to install and try this blueprint on for size as well.

Important notes:
  • I don't like the basement since you can't build in that cell unless you do some added modifications. In this build I have closed off the entrance, so be sure to grab whatever you want from the basement before importing this.
  • You may assign a settler to the desk with the terminal at the gatehouse, it counts toward your defense. The turrets should cover the rust devil spawn points at the Nahant seaside houses.
  • There is a guard mat on the front porch which you may assign as well; additionally the rooftop orangery has a few plants that can be gardened by a settler.
  • I've built this as a reimagining of what the original manor may have looked in its glory days, so the overall room and house structure is mostly faithful to the vanilla structure you find when arriving here for the first time. Just.. fixed up, obviously.
  • Given the above, you will want not to completely destroy the original features, as I've kept what could be kept:

  • Remove the ghoul ambush points (unless you enjoy spicy surprises).
  • Keep the front porch, the steps, the planters, the deck roof and supports (intact pieces). I believe I swapped out all of the railings, so take the old ones out.
  • Remove the old doors, wall lighting, painting frames, any ruined facade walls + walls with doorframes. Remove internal walls as I replaced these throughout. The internal stairs were replaced as well so remove those.
  • I scrapped one of the two old-world floor lights (I think I removed the second floor one and the top floor light was simply moved to its new spot). The rest of the vanilla furniture must go as well.
  • Remove the floors but be careful to leave the 'deco frame' for the base/ground floor, I've left that intact.
  • Leave the chimneys in their assigned place.
  • Scrap the mist on the second floor.
  • Don't destroy the monument thing; I've only cleaned up the debris and removed the ugly scaffolding.
  • Scrap the remnants of the wooden vanilla fencing.
  • I've also scrapped many of the ruined tree clusters and maple branches etc foliage to clean up, but this likely won't matter too much and you can see if any interfere with the new trees/foliage, then remove those offenders.
  • Feel free to clean up the driveway of any debris, roots, leaves, as you see fit. Also take down the larger trees at the bottom of the driveway, on the corner to turn off to the main road.
