About this mod

Recruitment dialog/perk resource for my settler mods: Nomads, Recruitable NPCs, Animal Rescue, Normalized Covenant Settlers, and several mods written by others. If you are not running one of these mods, this mod is not needed.

Updated 3/14/2024 Fixed a recruitment issue with tagged 'essential' vanilla NPCs where the recruit option never appears.  The perk property was mistyped and the needed perk was never given to the player.  I've combined the Unique and Essential perks into a Tagged perk for recruiting any vanilla NPCs.  In my testing this looks to be working as intended.   The Essential perk remains in the mod for backward compatibility but is no longer referenced in the recruitment logic.

Updated 5/27/2023 Repackaged and re-released as an ESL tagged ESP.  Please read the Important Considerations below as the old versions are not compatible with the new ESL tagged versions.  The ESL tagged ESP will be the only version supported moving forward.

The following change was made in the above release. Due to the challenges around sharing a Recruit perk, this mod can only be used to Recruit NPCs added by my mods.  It will no longer prompt for NPCs added by other mods. This is because many other mods need to use their internal logic to complete the recruitment process, and my logic does not work for all NPCs added by other mods.

Important
considerations  Please READ
  • The FCOM patch is no longer provided. I believe v2.0 of the Framework should now play well with FCOM with no patch needed. I will not be providing further support for my mods and FCOM.
  • Other mods that use the alternate dialog to interface with NPCs may conflict.  If you are not getting a 'R'ecruit / 'R'escue prompt check your load order for any other mods that use alternate dialog/action.  Temporarily disable the other mods to see if the recruitment options appear.

Known conflicting mods:

This mod is a required resource for my, and other mod author's, settler mods :
This framework mod provides the recruitment perk and scripting required by the above mods to recruit the npcs added in my mods.  You need to be near but not on top of an NPC for the Recruit prompt to appear.
