NPCs will change which clothing and armor they are wearing based on several factors, including location, weather, time of day, age, gender, and combat.

Permissions and credits
Donations
This is the basic version of the mod; it does not contain any additional armors, meshes or textures.
This means that the appearance of worn outfits will be based on whatever other mods you have installed, making this version compatible with all body types.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ

  • This mod is not safe to uninstall in the middle of a playthrough. Make a backup save before installing.

REQUIREMENTS

WHAT DOES THIS MOD DO?

NPCs will wear different outfits depending on the situation.

  • Most NPCs will only wear hats/hoods/helmets if it is raining or snowing. Vampires will also wear hoods when it is sunny.
  • Some NPCs will only wear gloves when it is snowing.
  • Armored NPCs will usually take off their helmet when not in combat.
  • Some NPCs will not wear armor while sleeping.
  • With the Cloaks and Capes Patch installed, some will wear cloaks when it is snows. Uniformed NPCs such as guards will always wear capes.

This is partially randomized, but within a very narrow range. For example, a farmer may wear a different farm outfit on Monday than on Tuesday, but they will never switch to a noble outfit. Farmers only wear farmer hats, mages only wear mage hoods, etc.

In order to prevent a long list of potential problems, followers will not change outfits while they are following you.

There might be some minor balance changes, but they were kept to a minimum. For example, I only added high-level armor to NPCs that are always essential and can't become a follower. This should work fine with mods like MorrowLoot Ultimate.

MIGHT CAUSE PROBLEMS

  • Sleep Tight SE (this mod would be redundant since Dynamic Outfits already does the same thing)
