Installation
This mod must be installed using
ME3Tweaks' Mod Manager 8.0 or higher. Manual installation is not possible as this mod makes use of the merge mod and plotsync features provided by the mod manager.
This mod is a multipack. It includes the main LE2 patch, and a smaller mod that will edit the Launcher. These mods are contained in the same download file and the Mod Manager will import and/or install them to their correct locations.
Hotfixes will be deployed in a standalone mod that will mount just above ULE2P, which can be found on the files page under "Update Files". The Hotfix Changelog will be available in a pinned comment on the comments page.
Drag and drop the .7z file onto the Mod Manager's interface. You can either import the mods into your library, then click "Apply Mod", or install the mods directly from the import window (which will
not add it to your library for future use.)
Uninstallation
A majority of the mod can be uninstalled by going to "Manage Target" (to the right of your installation target), and then disabling or deleting the Unofficial LE2 Patch.
This will leave a few features which have been installed directly into the base game. If you made a backup, you can again use "Manage Target", open the "Modified basegame files" tab and restore these to a vanilla state. If you do not have a backup, you will need to delete your current installation and reinstall the game.
Language
This mod is fully localized in all officially supported LE languages, both audio and text. We aim to offer full parity of bugfixes to all languages.
However, most typographical errors reported to us were in English. We are a multilingual team, but also largely play in English. We encourage reports of typographical errors in other languages so that these can be addressed.
CompatibilityThe Unofficial LE2 Patch mounts very low and is quite modular, meaning that in most cases, if overridden by other mods, you may lose out on fixes but nothing new should break.
If a mod does not specifically state that it was built using these files, or that it has a compatibility patch, you should assume it will override this mod and some fixes will not appear for you.
A minority of the files detailed in
this article - the ones which are dependent due to "other patch files" - can cause new bugs to appear if overridden. This issue would need to be addressed by the highest mounting mod (which should never be this one). These bugs are unlikely to be game-breaking, but may be immersion breaking.
Please note that mods which replace the basegame coalesced are NOT compatible with this mod.
Please note that Squad Power Remastered is NOT compatible with this mod. Using them together will cause crashes during the Suicide Mission. This is not an issue that can be fixed at this end.
Included Mods
The following mods are included in the Unofficial LE2 patch and do not need to be installed alongside it. They will remain available for those who prefer standalone solutions:
Hammerhead Sound Fix
Eyebrows and Facial Hair Restoration
Hammerhead Suicide Mission
Citadel Asari Hands
Missing Codex Restored
Ronald Taylor's Fate Fix
Elements of the following mods have been included, meaning you
may not need to install them:
Conrad Verner Remembers - the Unofficial LE2 Patch will import your decision regarding Conrad
if you played LE1 with the LE1 Community Patch installed. If you did not use the LE1 Community Patch, you will still need to use this mod.
Cerberus Ladies Wear Cerberus - the Cerberus uniforms have all been fixed in the Unofficial LE2 Patch. The option to restore Kelly's hair to it's ME2 mesh is not included, and you will still need to use this mod if you want that feature.
Technical Information
Please see
this article for information on mod files which require the patch to be installed. If you are a mod developer using these files you will either need to set ULE2P as a requirement or ship a patch.
Please see
this article for technical information on the mod and the utility features it offers to modders.
Bug Reports
If you find a bug potentially caused by the patch, please raise a bug report and follow these instructions:
1. Ensure that the bug is replicable and describe the steps needed to replicate the bug.
2. Ensure that the bug is present when no mods other than the Unofficial LE2 Patch are installed (be aware that you may need to restore some basegame files if you have installed merge mods).
3. Submit a log+diag from Mod Manager (see pinned comment in the comments section).
4. Check the list of known issues to make sure we are not already aware of the issue.
We are very eager to fix as many bugs as we can, but without a clearly replicable bug, and a log+diag, we cannot investigate.
If you have previously submitted a bug report, and it is not included in this patch or the list of known issues, it is likely we could not replicate it, or either did not consider it a bug, or in scope to fix. We are happy to provide further information on these decisions on request.
List of Known IssuesSpoiler:
Show
While we have plans to further develop the patch, the following are issues we have been specifically asked about, and that we cannot guarantee we will be able to address. This is generally due to technical limitations:
- Weird, inconsistent temporary black flickering voids in holograms.
- Missing expression wrinkles on all human and asari characters.
- Blue star's reflection in TIM's floor after destroying the Collector Base being closer to OT (floor actually is a different shade of red in both states on LE).
- Customs officer will refer to Female Shepard as "Sir" when attempting to resolve the Asari travel issue.
- Legion's upper lights do not change colour when speaking.
- Club music cuts out for some players in Afterlife.
