About this mod

I asked myself.. How could I bring Skyrim's Windhelm into Boston? How might "Fallout" handle it? Nordhagen's New Renaissance, reimagines Nordhagen Beach as a refurbished Renaissance Festival Theme Park. It offers as much unique decoration as I could manage, while still allowing for a pleasant experience FPS wise. Imagine Skyrim meets Nuka World!

WHY I BUILT THIS -

Approximately three years ago I began building and making videos for YouTube. In that time, I saw several great builds using the
Castle In The Sky set. However, I was unable to try it out, as I was on PS4 at the time.

A few months back a community friend,
Rellygirl made several videos using the build set for her channel, all based in Sanctuary Hills. I thought this is really cool, as I had forgotten about the build set. I figured, now that I'm on PC, it might be fun to try my hand at a "Mid-Evil" Design.

Basically, I'm a huge Fallout and Elder Scrolls fan and designing a "Theme Park" was the best way I could think of to allow it to exist. Also, I love the Renaissance Fair and so does Massachusetts! Approximately 50
miles from the Boston Airport, in Worcester is were they hold The Robin Hood Festival IRL! I originally had posted a rather lengthy back story for the park and about the people who built it. (I've since removed it from this page)

N.N.R. INCLUDES -

13 Assignable Beds (Including Extra Blankets from Creative Clutter)

30 Plus Food (This Includes 10 Assignable Crops and 20 from the "Magic" Windmill)

30 Plus Basic Defense (Do to TS Limitations, you'll need to add the Werligig Sentry Platforms yourself. The Control Console is Behind the Blacksmith's Stall. You could also just add Standard Guard Mats Instead?!)

16 Water

4 Artisian Crafting Stations (Armorer, Weapons and 2 Chemistry Stations.. the two chem stations can be found in the small green house. Inspect the Decretive Glowing Mushrooms and Harvestable Blite.)

2 Vanilla PA Stations

1 Vanilla Cooking
Stove (Inside the Tavern's Kitchen)

1 Vanilla Cooking Pot (Located in the Undercroft, under the Windmill. And yes, the windmill was inspired by Solitude!)

7 Level 3 Vendors (Bar, Clothing, Armorer, Weapons, Clinic, a Small Cafe and a General Goods Vendor is located on The Docks)

There's a quant little Crash Pad for Your Player Character in The Wine Cellar beneath the Tavern. (It used to belong to The Kid. He says you can use it when your in town!)

There are several Nuka World Tokens near the arcade and YES, they are meant to look "scattered about" (I'm OCD.. OK! lol) If you scrap this build they will go into the Workbench as loot, be sure to collect them (The Bench is under The Safe in The Wine Cellar). If for some reason you need to "Tear it down" it is recommended that you STORE the Commie Whacker and B-Ball Arcade Machines using Build Mode first. The Scoreboard Lights tend to get "BURNED IN" and will remain floating in mid-air otherwise. At least, in my experience.

There is a lot going on here! When you include all of the structures like The Church, The Dock and The Duel Undercrofts etc., there are 3,687 Pieces! A loss of frame rate in a few areas, should be expected! More so if you build the Werligig Platforms and you enable the "Shadow Lights" option. I dropped to 29 FPS, with SHADOWS ENABLED. Your results may differ. Try it out!

I Wanted To Keep Going -

It's not as "exciting" as I wanted. I had envisioned there being rides and a place for jousting etcetera (A Wasteland Workshop Arena). However, I feel I struck a good balance between Function, Beauty and Performance. I built this entirely using Build Mode over the coarse of just over a month (100+ HRs). Blueprint Build time for YOU should be about 15 minutes, give or take. With My Mid-level Computer, I timed it at just over 14 Mins! Stare at the ground while The Blueprint is loading in.. It helps FPS and Shortens "Build Time"! Workshop Plus Is Recommended as it allows you to fly in build mode!

PS

The walls were intended to support The Werligig Sentry Platforms (see My MM Castle Blueprint). However, They are more than capable of supporting "Guard Mats" from the mod of your choosing. I left the Sentry Platforms out as they may crash your game when they first "spawn in". This  only seems to be an issue if they are built by The Engine i.e. part of The Blueprint. To be fare,  I only experienced this issue during my Minutemen Castle Design Testing. That Fort A Minutemen Castle Mod at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)

Oh and BTW, Wasteland Imports is listed in the Blueprint, but for the life of me, I'm not sure why? (Perhaps a wall poster!?)

***Important***

In order to cut back on the pieces and allow YOU access to NPCs that fall under the Raised Foundations, I removed "most" of the lower foundations that come into direct contact with the ground (a void). Also, I recommend NOT going to far beyond 12-14 NPCs. "The World" will start to get crazy, due to Script Lag, etc. Technically speaking, it's more of a safety precaution. I did leave a few places under decorated. One, for "flavor" and Two, for those that have more powerful machines and may want to add on to this. I had My Build Budget set to 1,000 Times and it was close to full.. just an FYI.

If you want to add something of your own, I recommend scoping out the room next to the Hardware Store.. or try using Busy Settlers, for it's Busy Mats and what not! If you got to push your luck, try some small assignable rugs first! They work great and don't effect the budget, that much. Make sure you explore and look around for all The Loot I hid, maybe go for a swim!? ;)

As always, I love You All and A Rushed Build Is Never Finished!
