About this mod

The player's speech will sound less like a modern fantasy novel or streaming show, and look more like it's out of a classic medieval book, for possibly improved immersion.

This is an update patch to Shizzkicker's SE port of JeremeW5257's Immersive Player Dialogue mod. It continues to add both corrections, as well as some subjective stuff

Changelogs
If you're not satisfied, because the player character's speech patterns sound too up-to-date, this mod can help with that.

(This is the initial release of my first mod, so I may not anticipate certain problems. But I wanted to get it out for the holiday.)

From the original description:

Before: "Are you ok?"Now: "Are you well?"
Before: "What is this place?" Now: "What manner of place is this?"
Before: "What's going on here?" Now: "Tell me, what has occurred?"
Before: "Where did he go?" Now: "Where might I find him?"

Reason for this mod...

I found a lot of the player's dialogue too "contemporary" or "modern" for my taste, so I decided to change it. Phrases like "Why would you need help with that?" didn't sound like something that someone would say who lived in the time period of this game. I changed it to say "For what reason must I help you in this matter?" I know it sounds a bit "wordy", but that's how people use to talk in the "olden days"...or that's how they talk in the movies.

My goal was to change some of the more "modern" phrases to sound more "medieval". I want to feel like my character speaks like one of the "Lord of the Rings" or "Game of Thrones" characters.

Compatibility Lists:

Here are mods that are almost the same type of mod-type as this, and so will either overwrite or be overwritten by this one
Immersive Player Dialogue SSE / LE (the originals, not quite as many tweaks as my version, but they deserve most of the credit)
Sarcastic Player Dialogue SSE / LE (if you prefer to use strong language, in contrast to the merely old-timey dialogue of these mods, this dialogue is practically almost "postmodern")
Immersive Speech Dialogues (adds different dialogue based on your success or failure!)
Misc Dialogue Edits
Economy Overhaul And Speechcraft Improvements has just one line in common: "I've got the amulet." should become "I bring your Amulet."  if you can get this mod to overwrite that one line which is a copy from vanilla.
Any Khajit speak mods, of course, are just not going to mesh with this at all.

Similarly, be aware of anything that edits the dialogue of quests will like Paarthurnax - Quest Expansion, and maybe alternate start mods that change anything post-Helgen.

Plenty of dialogue/speechcraft mods just add some additional dialogue, this won't overwrite the dialogue from those mods, but also won't change them to fit with the rest of this mod. For example:
Relationship Dialogue Overhaul
Guard Dialogue Overhaul (I am not 100% sure, I need to check again)
Immersive Speechcraft SE / LE (adds completely new, separate dialogue records)
Nikolaf's Speechcraft Fix (adds 3 settings, does not alter any dialogue lines)
More Dialogue Options
More to Say

This is a mod that reverts dialogue to vanilla, (if the USSEP still hasn't fixed their typos or you prefer vanilla capitalizations (I often tried to restructure capitalization differences out of the lines entirely so that I wouldn't need vanilla vs USSEP versions), you can load this after USSEP and before any of the player-dialogue-overwriting mods):
Vanilla Plus Writing Purity Patch

These ones don't interfere with this dialogue at all, so no need for a patch, compatibility-wise:
Dialogue Choices with Timeouts in Skyrim (DCTS) - SSE (uses no dialogue, just a tiny script)
Follower Commentary Overhaul SE / LE (doesn't change the player's dialogue)
Sensible Bribes - (Based on Speechcraft Not Level) (doesn't change any of the story-dialogue-based bribing/paying)
Silver Tongue - Speechcraft Abilities (at least, probably not, since it works through powers and I couldn't find any dialogue records)

Unchecked in-game, but assumed compatible:
Better Dialogue Controls
Numerical dialogue options (press "2" to use your second dialogue option from the menu)
Convenient Dialogue UI - SE  (which has the features of both the above two, by the way)
Speechcraft Randomization

And finally, the conflicting useful mods small enough to consider patches for:
Dialogue hint (shows skill number needed, note that I have already shortened some lines so that they will probably fit)
How Hard Is This Persuasion Check (shows skill rank by word-category instead of number)
Immersive Speech Dialogues isn't 100% out of the question either.

If I put in the time, I'll optimize it with Cathedral, and/or clean it with SSEedit. Once I figure out how to do those things.

If you want several lines changed, someone else might do it if you request it in a Post - this is my first mod, after all. Let me know if there's any typos to fix, though, or if it doesn't work in Anniversary Edition. Also, if you can think of any more relevant mods to let people know about, that could be useful, too.

Basic pointers on how to change the dialogue to your liking:
Open the SSEedit tool with DeModernizedDialogue.ESP set as an active file. On the left window, click on the check mark next to either it or Skyrim.esm, then scroll down to "Dialogue Topic" and work from there.  If you're working with Skyrim.esm, etc, instead of a mod file, because you want to add a dialogue not already changed, right click that dialogue in the right hand panel next to "FULL - Name" (making sure it's for the PC not the NPC) and then "Copy as Override" into the other esp file. When you actually want to edit the wording, double click SLOWLY (like renaming a file in windows explorer), or right click and select "edit". Don't forget to save only new files without overwriting your game files.
