OVERVIEW
I don't know if it's just me, but the dust cloud effect from the ripper and chainsaw are really taxing on my cpu and instantly tank my fps whenever I start hitting an organic enemy.
For the longest time, I thought that effect came from a mod since it wasn't in Fallout 3, but after tearing through my load order, I found out that it was actually a New Vegas feature! Once I figured that out, it was a 5 second fix.
FEATURES
Removes the dust cloud effect from the organic impact mesh of the ripper. Any modded weapon that uses the RipperImpactDataSet (I.E. most automatic chain and blade weapons) will be affected as well.
ISSUES
None that I know of.
COMPATIBILITY
Should be compatible with everything.
INSTALL/UNINSTALL
To do it manually, add impactripperorganic.nif to your Data\meshes\effects\nv\weaponeffects folder. Remove the file to uninstall.
Alternatively, you can use a mod manager.
REQUIREMENTS
Just the base game.
