About this mod

Latest release 2.1: A balanced overhaul of the mech upgrades earned through cantina missions. The main goal of Giga-Upgrades is to increase the variety of upgrades and the effectiveness of less desirable ones. This mod was originally featured in Giga-WOP but was separated to improve mod compatibility and player mod preferences.

:: FEATURES:

Version 2.1- Main File
  • Upgrades have been rearranged again from the 2.0-BETA version. Mostly just better organization. Not all changes are listed but the highlights of this version are shown below. Also, lots of the changes in this version exist in previous versions. Make sure to uninstall or unselect any previous versions before using 2.1.

  • This mod is separated into three different variants. The only difference between these main files is the damage and cooldown percentages for the weapon upgrades. The costs and/or slot capacity for these upgrades have also been adjusted accordingly. (Please use only one main file)

  • Adds two new optional files that reduce the XP needed per upgrade by 33% or 66% (Only use one). These optional files are supposed to override the main version: 2.1 main file.

  • Another optional file is included that that reduces the difficulty to complete some of the cantina quests. For example: Kill 32 VTOLs vs 40. This file changes the mech hunter and collector quests the most.

  • Includes better cantina rewards in the main file. The better rewards include weapons from YetAnotherRevampedWeapon or if you prefer, YAW + YAWC. (If you use YARW, don't use YAW + YAWC and vice versa.) Some of the rewards also includes stripped mechs. If requested enough this feature may be separated as an optional file.

  • Adds more types of upgrades such as melee cooldown and damage upgrades, reduced jam chance, reduced ballistic spread and vertical thrust jump-jets.

  • Changes some of the weapon cooldown and damage upgrades to effect multiple weapon types. This was primary done to condense the amount of weapon upgrades so that other kinds of upgrades could be added.

  • The vertical thrust jump-jet upgrade improves the vertical thrust in exchange for substantially less forward thrust. Good for moving through vertically difficult terrain and pop-tarting.

  • Buffs many of the lack-luster upgrades. Very few upgrades were nerfed vs vanilla upgrades. The only reason upgrades would be nerfed is because they were odd outlier's vs the other upgrades stats. Example: The speed boost upgrade used only 1 slot for +15% speed. The +15% speed boost can still be achieved, but it's now split between two one-slot, 7.5% speed boost upgrades.

  • Each upgrade tree has a focus on which upgrades they include.

  • Equipment Collector: Heat and energy upgrades.

  • Mech Collector: Targeting and missile upgrades.

  • Mech Hunter: Firepower and ballistic upgrades.

  • Treasure Hunter: Mostly just mobility upgrades.

  • Wardog: Defense upgrades and a variety of other upgrades.

  • More in-depth changelog featured on the spreadsheet.

::  MOD NOTES:
  • Installing this mod could mess with your mech's currently installed upgrades. That said, it should just cost in game C-Bills and time to rearrange any mechs current upgrades if necessary. It's not required but it would be ideal to start a new save or use a save with all/almost all of the upgrades unlocked.

::  KNOWN ISSUES:
  • Some of the upgrades such as the improved melee cooldown or the reduced missile minimum range don't display any stat changes when they are equipped. They still work but it's not an issue that'll be fixed due to the mech upgrade UI not including these stats.
