Forward Operating Base Damocles is unique among other bases, as that it is not an outpost in an area outside of the Commonwealth but one below it. The Biocube, essentially a massive, underground cave that was terraformed and cultivated by a GECK. Known synth secessionists and Paternists - Institute members still loyal to Father - have been using the Biocube as an operating stronghold. As a testament to technology and ideals gone awry, it is being pacified by the Coalition spearheaded by the B.O.G. Rumors of alien technology and strange weapons are being investigated. 

As Damocles is deep underground, below the Glowing Sea, it cannot rely on an Airship to resupply it. Instead, supplies are airdropped over Federal Surveillance Center K-21B, which are then transported down by Coalition synths and loaded onto vertibirds and sent back to Damocles. The Institute is looking into being able to teleport large amounts of material. So far, there has been no successes, but the Biocube may hold the key. 

Damocles contains all the standard equipment found in a Forward Operating Base - state of the art medical care ran by the Institute, BOG-ran stalls for the manufacturing and sale of weapons, uniforms, and power armor, a CIA operated tailoring shop, junk cataloging and sale, water pumps and purifiers, mess hall and arcade, dedicated technicians, backup generators, natural gas extraction, sanitation filters, and a barber.
