I wanted glasses that looked a little different from Trips', and I didn't feel like learning how to do them as a piercing, so here we are.

Dyeable. Should fit all races/body types. Goes in the headwear slot. Spawns in Tutorial Chest.

If you want to change the color of the lenses, you can download the KCE_ColoredLenses file and use one of the options in there (unzip, open the folder for the color you want, then copy the "Generated" folder into Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data ).
If you have a program that can edit .DDS files (such as paint.net or Photoshop) then you can edit it however you want. You can also use Photopea if you don't want to download any new programs. This BG3 wiki page has more info on editing .DDS files.

The mesh & texture for the "Clerical Eyeglasses" frames was edited from "Glasses 09" by Dokono Kinokoda, and the lenses are edited from in-game assets.

I put this mod together for my half-tief Changeling Cleric of Mystra, Ione. I don't really care about balance & just give my items whatever stats I think are fitting for the character I made them for.

The rectangular "Reading Glasses" were made for Ione's father, Nephilius. I thought that having "True Sight" might be thematically appropriate for a man who knowingly married a Changeling. Celes & DrKekyll were kind enough to grant me permission to use/modify the "True Sight" from 5E Spells.

If you want to change what slot they use/what buffs they have/which vendors sell them then download the KCE_Stats file and read my pinned comment. I also go a little more in depth about editing the stats & treasuretable files in this article for one of my previous equipment mods.

Wider noses will clip a little bit with the glasses, and due to the various shapes of the Dragonborn crests they may completely hide the bridge of the frames. There's not really anything I can do about it.
Also, they clip significantly on two of the fem Changeling heads, and are almost entirely clipped through on one of the masc Changeling heads; this is because Trips' Changelings use Githyanki as a parent race, but their faces are shaped quite differently from Githyanki. I'm still working on doing another fitting specifically for Changelings.

Installation

How To Install BG3 Mods

Download it, unzip, and install with your mod manager (I use BG3MM).

You can find the info needed for Manual Installation in the info.json file that comes with each pak.

Uninstallation

Make sure that the items are not in anyone's inventory before you uninstall; you can do this by using the Trashcan mod to delete the items, or by using a temporary item summoning spell (such as the Tutorial Chest Summoning or Pouch of Wonders, or the basket summon for Basket of Equipment), sticking the items inside the temporary container, and letting it expire.
Once the items have been removed, you can uninstall like any other mod pak.

Thanks

Dokono Kinokido for the "Glasses 09" model

ByteBard for the BG3 Equipment Generator (this made the scripting part of this mod an absolute breeze!)

Celes & DrKekyll for allowing me to use/modify the "True Sight" from 5E Spells

AnteMaxx for their Custom Backdrop and Invisible Body mods (for making the item icon; not to mention their sample mods helped me start learning to mod to begin with)

ShinyHobo for the BG3 Modder's Multitool

Norbyte for the ExportTool (aka lslib)

LaughingLeader for the BG3 Mod Manager (I *highly* recommend using this instead of the Vortex mod manager)

commanderstrawberry for helping me get the custom loot model working & fixing the normal map for me

And the Down By The River discord server for being the fountains of information that allowed me to get into modding in the first place, as well as the support they've provided while I learn!

My mods will always remain free to use, and I do not take commissions, but you are more than welcome to throw a few bucks my way on Ko-Fi ^_^
