About this mod

This mod changes what sort of loot you can find in Morag Tong locations, giving them a stronger sense of faction identity. It is the third Faction Specific Loot module.

Skyrim actually has different loot sets depending on faction. In theory, what you find in a Draugr boss chest and what you find in a Bandit boss chest are different. Except to me it never really felt that way. No matter if I was in the depths of a Dwemer facility, the shadowy headquarters of a band of highwaymen, or popping open the chest a bear inexplicably kept in his cave, I'd find the exact same sort of stuff. Faction Specific Loot attempts to change that by taking advantage of and expanding on the systems and items that already exist in Skyrim. Ideally, when playing with this mod you won't open up a box and think to yourself "How did this get here?" or "Why wasn't the boss using this on me?".

This third entry of Faction Specific Loot focuses on the Morag Tong.

What does the mod do?
  • New containers with Morag Tong specific loot are created and used to replace generic containers in Morag Tong locations(only Ashfallow Citadel).
  • New weapon leveled lists are created for Morag Tong NPCs to use.
  • Enchanted weapon lists were created consisting only of enchantments one would expect a guild of assassins to use.
  • Enchanted variants of Morag Tong armor were created, like the weapons list, the enchantments are only those that would make sense for the Morag Tong to use.
  • Morag Tong armor is edited to have the same stats as chitin light armor.(In vanilla, Morag Tong armor both weighed more and was less protective than chitin light despite sharing a model)
 
Morag Tong Weapons:
  • The Morag Tong will use elven weapons (I wish Bethesda had given us chitin and bonemold weapons alongside the armor, but alas) at minimum. At appropriate levels they will gain access to glass and later ebony weapons.
  • At appropriate levels(starting at 20) they will have a 25% chance to have an enchanted weapon. Initially these will only be of elven quality, but at appropriate levels the pool will be expanded to include enchanted glass and later ebony weapons.
  • The pool of enchantments their weapons can have does not contain enchantments that would make little sense for an assassination cell tasked with killing a Redoran Councilor to have. Enchantments such as Turn Undead or Soul Trap will not be found.

Morag Tong Loot:
  • Morag Tong treasure chests will now only have the sort of weapons and armor the Morag Tong uses. Enchanted weapons found will have the same pool of enchantments that the NPCs use.
  • A suite of enchanted armor has been created for the Morag Tong(in vanilla only unenchanted Morag Tong armor existed). Enchanted armor found will have enchantments that make sense for a guild of assassins and nightblades such as the Morag Tong to use .
  • Amulets of the Nine Divines will no longer be able to be found in Morag Tong locations, as the Morag Tong does not not worship them.
  • The Cupboards in Ashfallow Citadel will now have dunmer clothes instead of generic nord farmer clothes.


Compatibility:
This mod replaces Morag Tong leveled item lists and containers.
It is unlikely to be compatible with things that alter the Morag, Morag Tong armor, or change Ashfallow Citadel container placements.
Mods that replace Morag Tong armor will likely need a patch to apply to the new enchanted variants.

green: compatible. Included in the list only if I receive questions about a mod and it turns out not to need patches, or if it is something people are likely to think conflicts.

Weapons Armor Clothing and Clutter Fixes: Patch available in optional files.
Improved closefaced helmets: Patch available in optional files.
