Changelogs
Skyrim is labeled as "action" RPG. However its combat is slow, unfair and clunky at times compared to modern day ARPGs. Mortal Combat attempt to paired with other great mods to achieve a more fast-paced, fair and enjoyable combat experience.

Features
  • Fluid and speedy movement for both player and enemies
  • Improved stamina and magicka regeneration in combat
  • Dodgeable projectiles to allow player react to ranged attacks
  • Options for using alongside your favorite combat mods or a full package combat tweaks (beta version)
  • Focus on smooth, challenging yet enjoyable gameplay instead of realistic or hardcore difficulty approach

Details
Movement Tweaks
Based on Visceral Combat and Movement and other movement and animal mods. It tweaks the movement records of most of the enemies, as well as player, to be faster and quicker. It has attack commitment features but you won't feel too restricted. (Dragons, Vampire Lord and Werewolf are untouched to avoid compatibility problem. )
Sneaking and blocking is also faster, just like in Assassin's Creed and Ghost of Tsushima. Aiming and Casting though is slightly slower but you still won't feel like turtle.

Dodgeable Projectiles
The spells in Skyrim are ridiculously fast. You cannot dodge them by reaction time, all you can do is to sidestep and juke the enemies to miss. Mortal Combat aim to counter that by reducing the projectile speed. Based on Dodgeable Arrows Spells and Shouts. Reduced the speed of projectiles used by enemies to roughly 1/2. Including spells, shouts, dwarven sphere bolts and arrows (iron, steel, falmer, ancient nord and riekling spears). Some of the affected projectiles will be used by players too.
(Limitation: shock/lightning spells have no effect due to the way those spell implemented. )

Stamina, Regeneration and Other Tweaks
Regeneration is faster in combat.
Stamina: 0.35->0.9
Magicka: 0.33->0.8
Health: 0->0.5

Stamina cost of power attack, bash attack and sprinting are reduced. Reduced regeneration delay.
Power attack requires 25 stamina minimum. Bash attack requires 15 stamina minimum.
Attack range/reach is adjusted. Two-handed weapons swing a bit faster.
Increased fall damage somewhat counter the increased movement speed so you can't kite the enemies brainlessly without risk in some situation.

Enhanced Combat Tweaks - Full Package
This mod start as a personal tweaks of Blade and Blunt to work well with Combat Evolved and my preference.
What's more in the full package:
  • Reduced the poison damage of enemies increased by Combat Evolved, still higher than vanilla. Also removed most paralyze effects added by Combat Evolved because it is an annoying and anti-fun mechanic to play with
  • Normal attacks use stamina
    1-handed: 5 (Heavy Armor +5) │ 2-handed: 10 (Heavy Armor +5) │ Bow Drawing: 5/s │ Blocking Stance: 2/s
  • Bow interrupt for NPCs, they will be staggered if got hit while drawing bow
  • Race records tweaks: based on Mortal Enemies but with less restricted attack angle. Most enemies got increased base HP
  • Most setting from Blade and Blunt are reserved, except for combat style removed in favor of Combat Evolved

Consider ECT in beta stage. Still need more play-testing to fine tune the value.

1.2 Update: uploaded a version of ECT to use with TDG's Advanced Combat - Enhanced Edition. Together it achieves a more fluid and enjoyable combat experience like other mordern action RPG. Highly recommend to try it out.

Recommended Combat Setup (My Preference)
TDG's Advanced Combat - Enhanced Edition
Fantastic combat mod adding important mechanic to the game. Highly recommended. I have uploaded a version of ECT that designed to use with this mod.

TK Dodge / Ultimate Dodge Mod
Personally the choice come down to if you want to be able to cancel your actions by dodge/blocking or not. Since the animation and hit registration in Skyrim is clunky and not that precise, I would prefer to use TK Dodge to allow attack cancelling to counter this issue.

Retimed Hit Frames / Combat Behavior Improved

You need those mods so that you can time-block or dodge properly. I am still deciding which one to use. If you use UDM I would recommend Retimed Hit Frames since it wouldn't allow attack cancelling if you want "fair" play. REMEMBER to run Nemesis otherwise the files will got overwritten by dodge mod.

Deflection - Dynamic Blocking Combat Overhaul
Best time-blocking mod IMO.

Combat Evolved
I really like its combat style tweaks and other little tweaks to make the combat challenging yet enjoyable. High compatibility.

No Disarm (Unequip Instead)
Found this little gem a while ago and became essential to me. It solved the most annoying part for the disarm shout without completely removing the shout. It should be how the shout implemented in the first place!

3rd Person Camera Stagger Remover
You don't need the shakey effect to feel the challenging combat. This fixed that.

No more Radial Blur
Another unwanted feature removed. Yay!

Enhanced 3rd Person Camera
I like over the shoulder camera.

Difficulty Balance
Player and allies now have the same difficulty damage factor. Seriously this should be in vanilla game.

Simple Gameplay Tweaks
Shameless plug! I am so used to block with right mouse so I cannot use hotkey dual wield blocking mod.

Know Your Enemy
A must-have mod IMO.

Enemy (R)Evolution of Skyrim - EEOS
It sounds really good. I am stilling play-testing it since it is a rather new mod. I may add the dodgeble projectile feature to the spell mods it uses in the future.

Mod Showcase

Compatibility
If you don't use the full package, it should be compatible with most combat mods. Just put Mortal Combat below your favorite combat/enemy mod.

If you want to use the full package Enhanced Combat Tweaks, it will overwrite/overlap many changes and features from other combat mods. I will suggest just using it with enemy overhaul mod that changes the combat style which this mod didn't touch. SRCEO is a good example.
