Apology: The initial 1.4.ae version was a debug build product that I somehow forgot to swap. Please download the latest 1.4.1.ae if you are having troubles!
Important: 1.4 verison ae/se, the old json file is nowGlowBeGoneSSE.toml within the mod directory.
Feature discussion over the source code is also accepted. Bug report is appreciated, but not the two listed below. 1 : MO2 reported as incompatible during query, if you can still run the game without ctd, it should be fixed by itself. 2 : The weapon's glow won't be removed instantly after equiping - you'll have to cast something that applies a glow on your character to trigger the function, e.g. Ironbark
Note: If you are bothered by the Ghost NPCs being too transparent, check out this patch by PRieST47

Please report if you have encountered a crash upon loading save with latest NG version...I haven't been able to reproduce it with very few mods installed on my pc. I'd love to see some crash logs and thank you all for the patience and feedback in advance!
It's working well on runtime 1.5.97, but it doesn't seem to exclude FleshFX. Unsure about the others since I don't use them anymore.
edit: never mind, I assumed the exclusions were only based on the original records. When I added the name of my patch, FleshFX started showing. I don't know if that's intended behavior, but I see the benefits of doing it this way for sure. Anyway, thanks for the work!
Strangely, it doesn't seem to do anything on my end. No errors or crashes or anything, I just see the edge glow like vanilla. Even on vanilla spells like Oakflesh.
And yes I'm using SKSE. All my other SKSE plugins seem to be working fine.
- edit: After some testing, actually this does work but it seems to be an issue/feature with lighting mods I have. I wasn't seeing the glow from spells but rather the light from the spells themselves lingering especially when in a darker environment like in interiors, which isn't actually the edge glow. It took me a while to try to figure out what was going on, and I'm not even sure which mods or combinations of mods are doing it. But yeah, it looks like this mod actually works.
Remove Glow (A List of Glows to Remove) contains everything you guys are asking for and more. No requirements. ESL Flagged -Body - Armor - Weapon Glows (ESP) -Alchemy Use (ingredients and potions) -Alteration Spells Hit Glow FX -Destruction Spells Hit Glow FX -Illusion Spells Hit Glow FX -Restoration Spells Hit Glow FX -Enchanted Weapons and Hit Glow FX -Candlelight / Magelight Glow -Dawnbreaker Wisp Glow -Illusion Spells Glow -Lightning / Shock Hand Glow -Lightning / Shock Impact Flash -Lightning / Shock Wall Glow -Nirnroot Glow -Soul Gems Glow -Torch Glow (removes the casting shadows of itself as well)
Infortunate. Just reinstalled Skyrim, and i was really looking forward to use this, genuinely a must have.
Here's hoping Mr. Duke eventually find interest in Skyrim again, and the will to update this mod. Or if anyone found an alternative.. (Synthesis patch unfortunately affects more than just those pesky glows)
Does anyone know why the latest version of this mod is archived and the only one we can download is two versions behind the latest and has a magnitude of reports of not working? All I want is to remove the ridiculous glow from the game... it shouldn't be this hard lol.
The SE version of this mod loads but doesn't seem to have any effect. The AE version gives an SKSE warning (outdated) and if you force load it, it also doesn't seem to have any effect.
I used this mod a year ago on 1.5.97 and it worked properly.
Anyone has it running on current Steam version or a proper alternative?

In my load order, I have a texture file called "Weapon Enchant Texture - no Effect" but I can't seem to find it on the Nexus. 100% got it here though.
