The best compilation of Glow Removals for several types, all made by me. Spell Hand Glows, Edge/Membrane Glows, Environmental/Fire/Light/Plant Glows, Circle/Orb/Sphere Glows, Wisp Glows, Whatever you can think of. If I don't already have it, request it and I'll try to make it. Everything is optional and standalone capable.
Requirements
This mod does not have any known dependencies other than the base game.
Not necessarily, but I was annoyed by the vanilla magic effects on weapons

Changelogs
Version v3.9
Added Feature - Giant Campfire Glows in "Remove Fire Glows - Non Magic" no longer cast the firewood in the shadow. Similar to how I removed the shadow-casting of the frame from the torch in "Remove Torch Glow".
Changed - Fire Shrouding Effects have been restored to "Remove Body and Armor Glows" and "Remove Body - Armor - Weapon Glows". I managed to keep them on while still removing the membrane glow this time.
Changed - Restored several particle shaders and effects while keeping the membrane/edge glow removed. All particles and additional effects have been restored.
Changed - "On Fire Effects" is now an option to remove the effects, not restore them.
Changed - Dawnbreaker Enchantment Glow is now also disabled in "Remove Weapon Glows". (The internal and wisp glows are another option.)
Changed - Header Versions. v1.71 to v1.7. I unknowingly updated the ESL versions to 1.71 when I ran it through CK. This update reverts them back to 1.7 so that they function correctly with game versions 1.6.640 and under again. Should still be completely fine for 1.6.1130+. (I checked all of the FormID #'s to verify and they were all correct.)
Version v3.8
Added Feature - Fire Storm hand glows have been removed, "Remove Flame and Frost Spell Hand Glows".
Added Feature - More options added to "Remove Dawnbreaker Glows and Wisps".
Version v3.7.2
Fixed - "wardinhandfx.nif" in Option "Remove Ward Spell Hand Glow" and "Remove Ward Spell Hand Glow and Wisps".
Version v3.7.1
Fixed - "mpscandleflame01.nif" in Option "Remove Fire Glows - Non Magic".
Version v3.7
Added Option - Remove Fire Glows - Non Magic. (Loose Meshes, No Plugin.) (See pictures in Media for clear examples.)
Examples: Blacksmith Forge, Braziers, Giant Campfires, Campfires, Candles, Candle Sticks, Fire Pits, Fire Places, Sconces, Wall Sconces, Wall Torches, etc.
Version v3.6
Added Option - Remove Nirnroot Glow to the FOMOD. (I released it after I had already made the v3.5 FOMOD.)
Version v3.5
Added Option - Remove Healing Vortex Glow and Wisps. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Added Option - Remove Muffle Glow and Wisps. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Added Option - Remove Nirnroot and Crimson Nirnroot Glow. (No scripts and no plugins, just like the rest. It's 1 loose mesh file. Works perfectly for ENB as well.)
Added Option - Remove Waterbreathing Vortex Glow and Wisps. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Version v3.4
Added Feature - I managed to force the vanilla records to Form 44. Allows me to toggle on/off Flags on every Effect Shader now.
Added Option - Remove Detect Life and Dead Hand Glows. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Added Option - Remove Flame and Frost Hand Glows. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin)
Added Option - Remove Healing and Undead Hand Glows. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Added Option - Remove Staff of Magnus Glow. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Added Option - Remove Telekinesis Hand Glow. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Fixed - I accidently added Shock Particles to Paralyze Effect Shader in the last version.
Fixed - Shock Cloak Hand Effects using incorrect texture.
Version v3.3
Added Feature - Black Book Reward Hit, Drain Vitality Hit, Seeker Spell Hit, Whirlwind Cloak Hit membrane glows in "Remove Body and Armor Glows" and "Remove Body - Armor - Weapon Glows".
Added Feature - Vampire Lord Mist Form effects in "Remove Body and Armor Glows" and "Remove Body - Armor - Weapon Glows".
Added Option - Remove Black Book Orb Glows and Wisps. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Added Option - Remove Mage Armor Glows. (Plugin)
Added Option - ESL Versions. (Real .ESL versions, not ESL-flagged-ESP)
Version v3.2
Added Option - On Fire Effects. (Turns "On Fire" Effects Back On) (Plugin)
Added Option - Remove Black Book Orb Glows. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Version v3.1
Added Feature - New target texture to my edited nifs for compatibility.
Added Feature - Vampire effect shader when transforming after 3 days in "Remove Body and Armor Glows" and "Remove Body - Armor - Weapon Glows".
Added Feature - "Weakness to _____" Shader Effects in "Remove Body and Armor Glows" and "Remove Body - Armor - Weapon Glows".
Version v3.0
Released first FOMOD version.
Version v2.1
Added Option - Remove Ward Spell Hand Glows. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Added Option - Remove Ward Spell Hand Glows and Wisps. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Added Option - Remove Ward Spell Shield Glows and Wisps. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin.)
Version v2.0
Added Feature - Removed shader fx for all racial abilities and stamina damage in "Remove Body and Armor Glows" and "Remove Body - Armor - Weapon Glows".
Version v1.9
Added Feature - Removed more glows and wisps from shock wall fx. (SOOO much better now, check out the image with all the details of it) in "Remove Lightning/Shock Wall Glow".
Change - Restored frost, soul trap, and mage armor membranes. They will no longer be disabled by default in "Remove Body and Armor Glows" and "Remove Body - Armor - Weapon Glows".
Change - Restored shock particles back to hit fx (while still keeping the glow membrane removed) in "Remove Body and Armor Glows" and "Remove Body - Armor - Weapon Glows".
Version v1.8
Added Feature - New record in "Remove Weapon Glows" for Dawnbreaker's weapon glow to separate it from other fire enchantments, keeping it enabled by default.
Added Option - Remove Torch Glows. (Loose Mesh, No Plugin)
No scripts, dependencies, or other requirements. (Very helpful for ENB users, btw).
Everything in Red is optional and able to be used by itself.
The FOMOD has everything too, really easy to install with it.
Combine this with my other mod Remove Screen FX for icing on the cake (It compliments this very nicely).
Remove Glows:
Remove Edge/Membrane Glows - Plugin Options: (only edge and membrane glows, leaves particle effects alone) (ESP and ESL options) Body and Armor -All Alchemy Use (ingredients and potions) -Alteration, Destruction, Illusion, and Restoration Spells -Enchanted Armors -Powers/Shouts/Transformations Weapons -Enchanted Weapons Body - Armor - Weapons -Combination of Body, Armor, and Weapons Versions Mage Armor -Mage Armor Spells (Not included by default, that's why it's separate) Dawnbreaker Enchantment -Included in "Remove Weapon Glows", so it's not necessary if using that. -Dawnbreaker's Fire Enchantment, not the internal glow or wisps. -Internal Glow and Wisps are another option in the loose files. "On Fire" Effects -Turns off "On Fire" shrouding. It's not a membrane, but shares records with them. So I've provided an option.
Remove Glows and Wisps - Loose File Options: Black Book Orb Glows Black Book Orb Glows and Wisps Candlelight / Magelight Glow Dawnbreaker Wisp Glow Detect Life Hand Glow Fire Glows - Non Magic (If you use Embers XD, they have an option to remove glows from their fire/ember meshes) Flame and Frost Spell Hand Glows Flame Wall Glow Healing and Undead Spell Glows Healing Vortex Glow and Wisps (Magic and Alchemy) Illusion Spell Hand Glows Lightning (Shock) Hand Glow Lightning (Shock) Impact Flash and Glows Lightning (Shock) Wall Glow Muffle Glow and Wisps Nirnroot Glow (Crimson too) Staff of Magnus Glow Telekinesis Hand Glow (Keeps Refraction) Torch Glow Ward Spell Hand Glow Ward Spell Hand Glow and Wisps Ward Spell Shield Glow and Wisps Waterbreathing Vortex Glow and Wisps
-A couple membranes are left in on purpose. Like Mage Armor, and Soul Trap membranes. -On Fire Effects are not a membrane, but can be removed because they're attached to the same records. -Use the ESP versions instead of ESL versions if you're having any issues, and check your load order.
-Remove Nirnroot Glow works with anything Vanilla, Modded, or ENB. So no more having to adjust ENB to turn down light sprites. (The only version without scripts or plugins on Nexus. Compatible with Nirnroot Mesh and Texture Replacers)
-Patches for Alternate Destruction and Believable Weapons in Misc Section.
-If you request for me to remove the glow from another mod, understand certain editing requires permission. Checkout their permissions or talk to them directly about permission first. I will not do it for "closed" permission mods without some type of proof that you got the "ok".
Don't Forget To ENDORSE THANK YOU EVERYONE
(Technical Stuff) -Though this only removes vanilla effect shaders, most mod use the vanilla effect shaders so this should still work for them. If the mod uses new effect shaders, they're probably better to leave in anyway. If you'd still like the modded effect shader removed for a specific mod. Comment or message me and I'll make a patch for you.
-Every option except for "Candlelight / Magelight" is without textures. Which means texture replacers should be fine for everything as well.
-Soul Gem Glow is completely unaffected by this. Soul Gems and Shock used to be tied to the same Glow, I separated them by giving Shock it's own.
-The 3 DLC's and mods like Particle Patch for ENB, and USSEP were all considered when I adjusted the records. So they are compatible though not necessary. Very compatible with other mods.
-New target texture DDS files for effects so that they can be adjusted independently without removing each other. (example: like the soul gem glows and lightning effect glows used to be tied to one texture file, they both have their own separate target textures now).
-For most of it, I played process-of-elimination in xEdit to get the effect shaders removed correctly. Same with NifSkope and Paint.net until I got the desired results with the meshes and textures. Once I found the right ones I erased most of their records in the nifs and made the dds files 100% transparent and 32x32
-No issues. Other mods that attempt similar effects have issues with spells breaking, shout effects not showing, things like "weakness to ____" effects not removed correctly, ghosts and mist forms not working, desired effects compromised to try and tweak a bugged mod to do like one or two things, etc. (just look at their comments or bug sections to see what I'm talking about). Everything in this mod works as it should, it's been thoroughly tested. *If you find something wrong anywhere please let me know so that I can fix it ASAP
