About this mod

With this little mod you need two fox pelts but only one goat hide to create one leather. In vanilla it's the opposite way. Same for the snow fox pelt. Base prices for the fox and snow fox pelts are increased a bit. Fur armor items can be created using the fox pelts.

Simple Leather Tanning Fix

Here comes another (very) small immersion mod.
I've always been annoyed by the fact that one fox pelt gives one leather if tanned, but two goat hides are needed to produce one leather. It should actually be the opposite way, since the goat is much larger.
And I wonder even more why there is no patch for this issue so far.

It might not be "lore friendly" but I fixed it now: So with this little mod you need two fox pelts but only one goat hide to create one leather. The snow fox pelt is also covered.
I know, you will lose value if you create leather by using the fox pelts, but in the end it's your decision. You can also just sell them. :) On the other hand you now create value by tanning the goat pelt...
I also increased the base prices for the fox and snow fox pelts a bit. At least they are much more difficult to hunt than a goat... :)

Update (Version 1.1):
To improve the usefulness of the fox pelts, I added the possibility to create and improve the fur armor set. By using leather, leather strips and the fox pelts you can now create all fur armor items. The recipes are made to reflect the vanilla look of the fur armor set. So, for the kilts you need less material than for the full cuirass. This also means that the recipes may not fit to the look of the armor pieces if you use fur armor replacers. I recommend close to vanilla replacers, such as e.g. Leather Armors Retexture SE , RUSTIC CLOTHING or aMidianBorn Fur Armor to avoid breaking immersion. If you don't like or need the new recipes you can stay with version 1.0. I moved the V1.0 files to the 'Old files' section.

I also recommend my other mod Rabbits Drop Rabbit Fur.

Issues?
The mod is so simple, there should be no issues. However, if you find some just contact me here. I'll see what I can do.

Installation

Copy all files to the data folder, overwriting existing files. Enable the mod.
Or better use a mod manager to do this.

Compatibility

I'm not sure, but probably some hunting mods could have addressed the issue already. You don't need this mod then.

Thanks

Thanks go to Bethesda for creating Skyrim and all modders who keep Skyrim alive, and to the guys who created SSEEdit of course.
