Part of the May Modathon Month

The piles of dust from The Art of Alchemy now feature unique meshes & textures.  Nearly every pile of dust, powder, & mince meat, a total of 114 as of v2.0, has a unique appearance using assets from Tamriel_Data, OAAB_Data, and some of my own meshes from my days modding The Sims 2.

Sorry v2.0 took so long!  I redid the entire mod twice before breaking down & figuring out how to import my old TS2 meshes into Morrowind...which them meant a third revision lol.

Many of the new bottles have labels that show the first alchemy effect the powder provides.  The coloring of the lid / symbol corresponds with the effect (red = negative effect).

The Art of Alchemy uses assets from Tamriel_Data & OAAB_Data.  There are several instances where Tamriel_Data & OAAB_Data both add the same gem, but different IDs.  The dusts produced by the gem uses two different meshes to differentiate them.  See the screenshots for the (minor) difference in the bottles.

I did update the names of a few items:
  • added the word 'dust' where it was lacking
  • Changed OAAB's Topaz (the gem & dust) to 'Blue Topaz' (since theirs is a blue topaz)
  • Changed OAAB's Garnet (the gem & dust) to 'Spessartite Garnet'

NOTE:  The IDs of the items did NOT change so any quests that are looking for AB_IngMine_Topaz_01 (OAAB's Topaz) will accept Blue Topaz since the game engine looks for the ID, not what's in the name field.

OPTIONAL FIX FOR LODESTONE GEMS

If your lodestone gem (not the dust) has spikes but is otherwise all black, there is an optional fix included.  It replaces the meshes for both mods (which were identical in appearance but with different file names) & includes a texture for the rock & the HD texture for the spikes.  This is replacer so no .esp file is needed.  Just copy / paste the Data Files folder inside the Lodestone Fix folder to your Morrowind Install folder.  Confirm the overwrite on the 2 meshes.

REQUIREMENTS:

The Art of Alchemy
Tamriel Data
OAAB_Data

*********************
INSTALLATION:

Extract the files to your Data Files folder.  Activate the .ESP file in your mod loader of choice.

UNINSTALL:

From Data Files\Meshes\sig\un\ remove the folder named 'dst'
From Data Files\Textures\sig\uni\ remove the folders named 'dst' & 'aa'
From Data Files\Icons\sig\uni\sig remove the 'dst' folder
(if you do not use any other mod from me you can delete the 'sig' folders too)
Delete the .ESP file

You should be fine to install this on an active game BUT if you have placed any of the bottles in the world, they won't be sitting correctly until you pick them up & place them down again.  If any mod has placed the tiny dust piles in the world, the same applies.

CREDITS:

The teams behind Tamriel_Data for the gem dust bottles
Intelligent Textures / Flash3113 for the upscaled bottle texture for the gem dust bottles
The icons came from Big Icons & Jacey's Vector Icons.
Some textures are from David Gurrea, http://www.davegh.com
The square container, tall powder jar, and angled powder jar are my own meshes.
Textures for the powders are a mix of in-game textures,  textures from my library, & textures I created.

If I used a texture but didn't credit it here, please let me know! I tried to keep track of where each image came from but I might have forgotten one or two.
