About this mod

Usonian Sanctuary rebuilds the 5 ruined houses in Sanctuary Hills in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian houses. It can be installed with Transfer Settlements or Clipboard Resurrection.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Usonian Sanctuary rebuilds the 5 ruined houses in Sanctuary Hills in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian houses. All houses have a kitchen, bathroom fixtures and a fireplace but are otherwise not furnished or decorated. They can be installed from a single Transfer Settlements blueprint or via Clipboard Resurrection as 5 individual patterns. Since there is no indication of house numbers or inhabitants' names in pre- or post-war Sanctuary, I assigned house numbers from 1 to 14 starting at the Sanctuary Hills sign, making the Usonian Sanctuary houses nos. 2, 4, 6, 7 and 14.

Required DLCs:
  • DLC: Wasteland Workshop
  • DLC: Contraptions Workshop

Required mods:

Note that these are direct requirements only. Some of them have additional requirements of their own that need to be installed as well.

Additional environment mods used for the screenshots (not required):

Installation:
  • Install with a mod manager.
  • Travel to Sanctuary Hills.
  • I recommend saving after each of the following steps. The game is prone to crashing after a large building import (or any use of Clipboard Resurrection). Note that the first save after such a large import can take several minutes even on a high-end PC! If the game appears to be hanging, give it some time.
  • For each of the 5 ruined houses, scrap the house (plus extra "Ruined House" parts lying next to it), the foundation and the entrance stairs ("Sanctuary Steps"). If there is any debris within the area of the former house, scrap it as well. Anything outside the house can be left as is.
  • For no. 7 (north-east of the big tree) also scrap the car "Frame".
  • For no. 14 (next to the bridge) also scrap the "Vine" and "Maple Branches" and all "Shrub" objects directly adjacent to the building. You can leave the hedges, brambles and the rusted car.
  • When using Clipboard Resurrection: Build the clipboard tool, choose "Move To Pattern Source Location" in the action menu first, then "Paste From Clipboard". Repeat this for each house you want to build (and don't forget to save in between).
  • Alternatively, when using Transfer Settlements: Use the holotape to import the blueprint that contains all 5 houses.

If you want to build the houses in other locations with Clipboard Resurrection, you need to make sure that they have the same z rotation (i.e. face in the same compass direction). I am using objects with non-zero x and y rotations which cannot be pasted in the correct orientation when the z rotation does not match. In order to get the rotation right, place the clipboard, open the console, click on the clipboard and run the right "setangle z" command for the house you want to build:

Building 2: setangle z 133.229219
Building 4: setangle z 144.471437
Building 6: setangle z 180.097581
Building 7: setangle z 91.033513
Building 14: setangle z 181.019042
