About this mod

A number of broad, official patches for Mutant Menagerie. Each patch covers a specific category, comes in an ESL-flagged ESP format, and can be quickly enabled and disabled separate from Mutant Menagerie. I wanted to keep these patches separate as they are not part of the main mod and would clutter the page.

This mod has been retired!
All previous iterations of Mutant Menagerie will remain available, but they have been laid to rest by me - the author.
Mutant Menagerie: Life Finds a Way is considered the final version of Mutant Menagerie - replacing all previous versions.

REGARDING HORRORS OF THE DEEP FOG: these are patches for Mutant Menagerie: Big Game Hunting. They are designed for JUST Mutant Menagerie: Big Game Hunting. Using them alongside Horrors of the Deep Fog may cause issues and is not recommended - unless the patch description specifies otherwise. If you choose to proceed anyway, DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Overview

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone for their support of Mutant Menagerie - Big Game Hunting. The outpouring of kindness and support for this mad science project of mine has been, frankly, amazing. Mutant Menagerie - Patches is a directory of sorts where I will upload all of my future miscellaneous patches for Mutant Menagerie. Now, to be clear, Mutant Menagerie is a big mod. It is impossible to cover every request for changes/alterations to the mod that have been submitted to me. However, I thought it would be helpful to release a series of broad patches that affect the mod categorically. This ranges from the simple removal of specific categories of creatures to the removal of all cooking recipes. For now, the patches are primarily reductive - removing elements of the mod in broad strokes for the sake of modularity. Later on, when I have the time, I may make more detailed compatibility patches for mods that I would like to integrate with Mutant Menagerie. Such future patches will be uploaded to this page. Bug fixes, updates, and alternative versions of the mod will remain on the main mod page for Mutant Menagerie.

The Patches

REGARDING CREATURE-PATCHES - I am in the process of rebuilding reductive patches for Mutant Menagerie in a cleaner, more efficient way. The new patches will only edit the leveled lists and replace creatures with others - not outright delete anything. This, unfortunately means that not all patches will make it back. Things like the Thalassophobia patch cannot be easily made without deleting spawns, so patches of that ilk may not return. The patches in the spoiler below are either discontinued on newer versions of the mod or still being rebuilt.

Apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you for understanding.

Spoiler:
Show

- Ambient Creatures Only - Removes all Heavy Hitter, Hybrid, and Ambush spawns. Only overtly harmless creatures remain in the world.

- No Heavy Hitters Removes all Heavy Hitters and their dynamic spawns. This does not include ambush spawns.

- Thalassophobia Removes all living aquatic creatures, leaving only a few seaside corpses remaining (in order to keep the creature loot in circulation).

The following is a list of the patches currently available for Mutant Menagerie version 1.3 or higher. You must have downloaded and installed either the main version or performance edition of the mod in order for these patches to work. Get Mutant Menagerie 1.31 here.

- Arachnophobia - Replaces radrachnids and radscorpions added by the mod with radroaches. Some synaptic cobwebs and spider eggs still remain in the world, however.

- Commonwealth Fishing (Compatible with Horrors of the Deep Fog) - Mostly an add-on for Commonwealth Fishing by Flashy (JoeR). Adds new creatures to catch, new recipes, and renames some items to be more in-line with Mutant Menagerie. Fishing should have a few new surprises in store now. DISCLAIMER: I put this together in-between projects, and a lot of items don't have proper collision. If you drop them, they may float in the air or act weird. I'll maybe probably fix this someday.

- Exotics - Adds official Mutant Menagerie support for Mojave Bighorners, Cazadores, Mantises, Geckos, Centaurs, Floaters, and the Famished. Includes minor bug fixing for each plugin, tackling small issues that were missed in the release (like removing the bugged green gecko omelette recipe). Leveled variants of creatures like mantises and famished have been given unique names to distinguish rank, the previously boring drop lists for all creatures now include Mutant Menagerie items (and some vanilla leveled lists, for good measure), and all creatures are integrated into MM's dynamic spawns. Some creatures have had their script injectors removed, so they won't overwrite vanilla creatures or spawn with them. Now, hopefully, some critters will stop being absolutely everywhere - and won't be murdering all the creatures from Mutant Menagerie before you get the chance to hunt them.

- No Recipes - Removes all Mutant Menagerie recipes from the game. For those that found them overpowered, or for those that want to use a more extensive patch but don't want a bunch of broken recipes that rely on unattainable ingredients.

DISCLAIMER:
While it might be possible, in theory, to use multiple patches at once - this is untested by myself. If you want to safely mix and match, I recommend merging the plugins. A helpful tool for this can be found here.

Other Patches
The following is a list of patches are not made by me that you may enjoy. This list will be updated as time goes on and more patches are released. Be sure to endorse and show your support to the community members kind enough to devote their time and develop these patches! As always, community members are free to develop and release patches for Mutant Menagerie at their discretion, without my permission. This includes compatibility patches, reworks and overhauls, or unofficial expansions. Check the Permissions tab on the main Mutant Menagerie page for more information on what's allowed and what's not regarding community created content.

Mutant Menagerie - Strange Noises - Gun for Hire Quest Integration - Integrates Mutant Menagerie creatures into Flashy(JoeR)'s Guns For Hire mod.

VIS-G Patch for Mutant Menagerie ESM Version - A recently released patch for VIS-G that works with 1.2 and its ESM.

- Immersive Animation Framework - Patch Repository - Adds IAF functionality to MMBGH items - changes some item models.

Immersive Fallout Combat IFC - Unofficial Patches - Adds keywords from IFC to MM creatures.

Mutant Menagerie - FallUI Sorting Patch - Adds inventory sorting support for those that use FallUI's sorter.

- Mutant Menagerie - No Far Harbor Creatures - Does exactly what it says on the tin. Removes the DLC creatures from the Mutant Menagerie.

LOST AWKCR VIS-G Patches - Adds AWKCR and VIS-G compatibility to Mutant Menagerie.

Wildlife Overhaul - Less Aggressive Creatures - Tones down aggression and adds aggro radius for Heavy Hitters, making them more in-line, conceptually, with hybrids. A good alternative for anyone who wants a less-cutthroat experience than what is intended with Mutant Menagerie.
