This mod patches Mutant Menagerie for FROST in a balanced and immersive way.
It took a lot of work to properly adjust this.
I can not guarantee that this mod is 100% perfect yet, so keep that in mind if you are using it.
Because FROST plays during a nuclear winter, certain creatures were removed/disabled as they would not be able to survive in a nuclear winter. Heavily mutated creatures are also disabled to fit better into FROST's setting and Naugrim's design intentions.

Future Changes

I might enable one of the bird creatures, if it makes sense that they can survive in a nuclear winter. There are birds who live in very cold regions after all. Feel free to leave your suggestions in the post section. I might also remove the spiders from the surface at some point, and add them to one of the subway tunnels together with a few spider web objects, but I would need free-to-use textures and .nif files for that.
I might also add racoons to the Rat/Molerat levelled lists, or place some racoons in the subway tunnels to replace rats there.
I might also add "tamed boars" to certain locations, like Downtown or other Metro Stations

Load Order
Please load this mod directly after Frost.esp

  • Removes all amphibians, reptiles and insects (only spiders can be found)
  • Removes Gargoyles
  • Removes a lot of the spawns to make the wasteland feel more empty (as it should be in frost)
  • Most creatures were scaled down a lot to make them more realistic
  • Levelled lists were edited to work with Frost's Hunter Perk mechanic
  • Levelled lists were nerfed so that creatures drop less items
  • A lot of crafting recipes were removed, the rest were balanced for frost
  • Misc. items were adjusted
  • Consumable items were adjusted (value, effects, sanity etc.)
  • Creatures give less XP
  • Creatures are less tanky and do less damage, so that they are balanced for FROST
  • Creatures don't always drop meat and hides, even if the player has the Hunter Perk (Reason: meat/Food would be too plenty otherwise)
  • I've tried to give creatures a certain touch to make them a bit more unique. Some of them are a lot faster, some of them are a bit more tanky (River Rats), and some are weak against energy damage (Kill the spiders with fire!)

It is very likely that I did oversee something, or that something isn't yet 100% balanced. Please give me your feedback on stuff like this, it really helps :D
If you find an enemy with a title (Example: "Wanamingo Queen") or a creature that is un-immersive/shouldn't be there (Gargoyles, Reptiles, Gulpers, etc), please report it in the bugs section
This current patch was made with the 1.2 version of Mutant Menagerie.
If you find translucent creatures with "Fog" in their name, please report them immediately!
