BACK STORY

The stories tell you that it was the bombs alone that toppled mankind, those stories are not entirely true. For the hundreds of thousands caught in the blaze and hellfire others would have claimed them to be the lucky ones.

While U.S. defenses were victorious against atoms fury in few regions, they failed to prevent the demise and strife that would erupt from diminishing resources, lack of food, water, services and most importantly a shortage of the medicines desperately needed to prevent what would become known as "the outbreak".

Nuclear radiation mutated sickness and disease and found a new way to choke off the remaining citizens within the crumbling cities. In the wake of these dire times, public service announcements of health safety were about the only remaining voice that was heard. Remaining U.S. forces deployed monthly airdrops of the serums to keep "the outbreak" at bay. They painted the city with hazard warnings to remind its inhabitants that death was, in the literal sense, around every corner.

Then came the day the skies went quiet. Aid would fail to come another day. The people of the city broke out in panic and fury. Society quickly divided among thieves and dwellers. They broke out in savagery looting what remained, defacing the city walls, toppling its monuments and erasing the fabric of what they stood for and valued. The church became an epicenter of mockery and hate as they lay claim to the book of Revelation and false hope.

Those who stood for the city fled, abandoning those who would eventually fall to the demise of genetic annihilation. The onslaught of man would come to a close.

...The streets grew cold, the air went still...

Over time nature reclaimed dominance, encasing a once loud and bustling city into a skeleton of bricks and concrete riddled in mans last words of hope and fear, love and hate. What stories can be told here?

This is Concrete Jungle.

DESCRIPTION

A settlement blueprint consisting of a scene from the inner city of a fictitious world. Built in-game on the grounds of Spectacle Island, the scope of this project is to bring to you an immersive, eerie experience as you walk the streets of a city full of sorrow and history and a post-apocalyptic vibe not found in the Fallout universe. I hope you take the time to download each of the fantastic mods found in the install process below and enjoy that which is Concrete Jungle.

This blueprint is to be treated as an experience or place to visit and ideal only for the player and not for NPCs or fully functioning settlements.  While you are welcome to build shops and guards, recruit settlers etc. please note that due to current game mechanics they will not interact like you would expect. When exploring the city please note that these buildings are more or less props and for the most part serve no purpose other then aesthetic. This means that while some buildings are enterable, they are rather empty, some walls out of view are missing and this is intended to save FPS. The focus of this project is to immerse yourself in the streets with nothing more than a narrow corridor or rooftop to call home.

:(

Read Carefully, before installing this mod.

NOTE: THIS IS A SETTLEMENT BLUEPRINT THEREFORE TRANSFER SETTLEMENTS IS NEEDED IN ORDER TO IMPORT SETTLEMENT IN GAME.
FOR COMPLETE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS SEE TRANSFER SETTLEMENTS FOR DETAILS.

STEP ONE: Install Spectacle Island Flattended (I recommend clearing the island of the enemies first if not done so).
Once installed, REMOVE ALL TREES & debris, all trees seen in the images are manually placed. By not doing this step, you
will have too many trees and you'll have a bad time in knowing which trees to remove once CJ is installed.

FAQ

Why are there so many mods?  Because about 9 mods were used to build the infrastructure plus 9 mods to
decorate it and because this is a settlement blueprint, these mods are needed.

Where is the vegetation? Included with the mods in the required section; however, please see the Highly Recommended
Mods section for the retextures that will make your vanilla vegetation more robust.

Is something wrong with the building interiors? No, the buildings are not intended to be occupied. While few offer space to build up shops or a place to call home, the interiors are simply not the focus here. I suggest taking refuge in the lantern lit hallway, building workshops in the center street or build upon the shanty base located on the roof of the brick tower with the billboard (includes roof access).

Why do my settlers suck at navigating the streets? Becuase of current game mechanics. I recommend not bothering with them here, but if you must have shops and guard posts, assign them then wait/sleep an hour and poof they should appear where they need to be.

Will this hurt my FPS? Look at your rig, consider the amount of content seen in the images and ask yourself "can my PC handle this?".
There is a lot of content in this mod, but it should NOT perform anything like downtown Boston. While I have a high quality computer
I experience no lag and that includes the ENB at work. Results may vary.

Thank you to all of the Mod Authors out there that helped make this possible.
