This mod is currently compatible with Cyberpunk v1.63 Hotfix 2. I still need to determine if this mod is still required with the 2.0 update (this will be concurrent with my update of Time Dilation Overhaul).

OVERVIEW

In the base game, when you increase either the rate of fire or reload speed of a ranged weapon, the damage per hit (DPH) of the weapon decreases. This is because damage per second (DPS) is the primary damage stat, and the DPH is calculated by dividing the DPS by the attacks per second (APS). So when APS goes up, DPH goes down. It makes absolutely no sense that reloading faster or shooting faster would actually make our weapons weaker!

Additionally, weapons with extra projectiles per shot (like the iconic "Widow Maker" Achilles) also do less damage per projectile in the vanilla game. This meant that weapons with extra projectiles above the base were meaningless, since each projectile's damage was decreased such that their combined damage matched the DPS of the weapon.

This mod fixes that by changing how the Damage per Hit is calculated. This is a global fix for all ranged weapons. (The fix was hard to find, but stupidly simple)

INSTALLATION / UNINSTALLATION

Unpack the zip file into your Cyberpunk 2077 install directory, or install with Vortex. This mod will add files to the “\bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks\mods\” folder.

To uninstall, delete the files added to the directory above and walk away!

IMPORTANT NOTES

This mod now works in the most seamless way. If the attacks per second of the weapon changes, the UI updates to show the DPS increase properly.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod has been tested extensively with the Cyberpunk THING mod collection which contains over 100 gameplay related mods. It shouldn’t really cause any compatibility issues.
