About this mod

Massively expands on the original Romanceable Rasmodius mods within the context of SVE (largely lore friendly). Adds over 1200+ lines of dialogue, 80+ new custom events, 20+ Adjusted SVE events, and the original 12 RomRas SVE events for a total of 110+ events. (Over 7.3x the content of RomRas SVE)!

Due to Stardew limitations and popular demand, I have decided to convert RRRR into a standalone game. As a result, content development on the mod has ended in V1.8.4 (the mod will remain up).

RRRR was originally a personal project that was retooled and adjusted for public release.  Please check below to see if this is the mod for you.

  • I've massively expanded the magic lore and historical events which may or may not be accurate to SVE canon. I've also added a lot more context-specific lines for SVE characters such as Camilla which may or may not be in character.
  • The mod assumes you will treat the Wizard nicely.  Some things won't really make sense if you treat him poorly, but that dialogue does exist.
  • Expect long, lengthy events and dialogue. This is just personal preference. I like my dialogue extensive and insightful. If you don't, this isn't the mod for you. I generally do not suggest skipping any one time events because it may mess up event progression or you may be confused by references you haven't seen. Repeat events can be casually skipped.
  • There is a lot of suggestive dialogue. The mod has gotten a lot spicier over time due to public demand. That said, there's still nothing explicit, but it is EXTREMELY suggestive with several pieces of content being flat out impossible to tone down. Generally, there will be dialogue options to opt-out of the extra extra spicy scenes, but your personal tolerance will vary. Please toggle off "Spicer Content" if you would like the mod to lean more PG 13. 
  • There is some heavy dialogue. It doesn't get too dark, but some darker topics and events are mentioned occasionally. Most of it is reflective and about past events. The relationship between the farmer and Magnus is generally very supportive and healthy, but he does sometimes display a slightly more overprotective side. He always has the farmer's well-being and happiness as his utmost priority, however, but his long life-time of trauma is not easily dispelled, no matter how happy he  may be. The plot scenario available starting in Y4 may potentially be distressing for some people so a toggle has been provided that will work mid-scenario to turn them off if needed. Please try it at your own digression.

If Hidden Love Interest Mode is on, Magnus will not accept a bouquet (or have the *single* tag) until conditions are met. 
You must commit if you decide to attempt hidden love interest mode.

Toggling it off or on before unlocking his official Love Interest status may break the mechanic/reset heart levels if the toggle is not immediately restored to what it was before.

RRRR features a new pseudo mechanic called "Hidden Love Interest Mode". It is designed to somewhat mimic hidden love interests found in Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons entries that have additional unlock requirements, but without the actual hassle of ridiculous tasks like throwing 100 cucumbers into a lake and downsides of a barely-present spouse. Like other hidden love interests, having this mode active hides the Wizard's eligibility as a bachelor until the correct conditions are met, which means he will no longer appear to have the "single" tag beside his name or accept a bouquet until conditions are met.

Since it takes at least a full year cycle (spring to winter) to complete said conditions, a new "Unofficial Dating" relationship status has been added that triggers following the 9 heart confession event. While "unofficially dating" the Wizard, events and dialogue will reflect that change in relationship, making for a roughly comparable experience to normally dating in the game, but paced and supplemented with additional events and a lot of dialogue to keep the year interesting.

The aim is to add more weight on the relationship and better show Magnus' hesitation as a result of the trauma from his prior relationships when approaching something new with the Farmer while also addressing the lore added by SVE in regards to the Ministry of Magic.

Largely obsolete. The mod has been retooled in the backend for allow for a much more flexible timing experience, but it is recommended to play through at least 1 full ingame year (from spring 1st to winter 28th) while dating/unofficially dating him before getting married.

I will keep this section around for people who would like a better idea of how I paced this mod however and what a typical playthrough should roughly look like.

Tips:
  • Visit him at least once a day. I generally suggest doing so between 10am - 5pm, but really any time is okay in most instances (the tower is open from 6AM to 11pm). This will make sure you see all potential events.
  • Actively begin mining through the year and collecting resources for house upgrade, ginger island boat repairs, and tool upgrades while collecting quartz for an easy gift option. Ideally, get void essence for faster heart progression.
  • Get as deep enough in the mine to fight ghosts. They drop solar essence which is a loved gift
  • Fishing is a great source of money if you fish off the shearwater bridge for puppyfish and butterfish.
  • Getting fishing up to at least level 5 makes it possible to fish up frogs after 6pm on rainy days during spring which are a liked gift. Higher quality items give more points.
  • Alternatively, buy the frog legs recipe from Marlon, upgrade house to tier 2 for kitchen and gift frog legs as a loved gift.
  • Make field snacks for energy. You should have plenty of tree seeds from gathering wood. If that's not possible, try buying salads for 220g each at the saloon.
  • Upgrade the axe to at least steel first so you can start collecting hardwood logs asap and have access to the secret woods for events. Respawning stumps in the secret woods only nets you 2 hardwood each stump, so it takes a while to build up without abusing slimes for mahogany seeds.
  • Kill all the dust sprites you see. They have a chance to drop coffee beans which you can plant and turn into coffee for a speed boost.
  • Always dig mountain artifact tiles. There is a chance to get dino eggs and ancient seeds. Ancient seeds in particular are an end goal crop. You can sometimes get these when fishing as well.
  • Always check the travelling trader for red cabbage seeds or red cabbage. There is no other ways to get it in year 1 outside of a lucky drop. There is a game setting that guarantees the red cabbage or red cabbage seed will spawn at the trader in Y1 (I think it was something like complete the community centre in year 1).
Timeline:
  • Start the game on Hidden Love Interest Mode.
  • (Optional)Set birthday some time in late summer for the best general pacing assuming you follow this guide --> You can always adjust this on the fly if you missed the timing or opt to move it later in the year in general)
  • Meet Magnus as soon as possible. Usually it's around day 6/7 of Y1 spring.
  • (Optional)Reach 4 hearts by flower dance --> Successfully dance with Magnus. Should be possible if you give him at least liked gifts and see 0 heart to 3 heart events while talking to him every day (rebalanced from original mod).  I've done some tests and it's entirely possible to get him to 4 hearts by the 21st of spring, assuming you get fishing up quick enough to catch at least gold quality frogs/ mine deep enough for solar or void essence/ give him frog legs dish. This is probably the hardest to accomplish, but not mandatory, just nice.
  • Reach 9 hearts some time mid-summer --> Should be easy with flower dance boost and gifts + correct event answers. The friendship from later events are very generous.
  • Accept his confession during his 9 heart event which takes place in the secret woods and start unofficially dating
  • (Optional)To see  "the Truth" event, play through through to Y1 Winter 17th while unofficially dating(Do not unlock the Nexus events. The easiest way to avoid unlocking them is to not complete the volcano dungeon assuming you have finished the community centre.)  and go with him to the Night Market as he suggests. Talk to him while there and select the dialogue option once it appears and then go to the tower the next day to trigger it.
  • Complete Community Centre/Joja between winter Y1 and summer Y2 --> Should be fairly doable if actively working on it through the year.
  • Complete Ginger Island Volcano dungeon after Winter 18th, but before the end of summer Y2 to finish unlocking the SVE Nexus events while still seeing "The Truth" events.
  • Play through the Nexus/ Enchanted grove events. Magnus will give an ultimatum and be unlocked as an official love interest. 
  • Begin officially begin dating him. ---> I suggest doing this ASAP
  • Have a rain totem or wait for rain in spring Y2/Summer Y2 to buy mermaid pendant. 
  • (Optional)Marry him in before the end of summer Y2.
  • (Optional)Upgrade house to least tier 3 for nursery by fall Y2.
  • (Optional)Have child 1 by the end of Fall Y2. Have child 2 by mid Y3.
  • Grats! You did it! Now just play as leisurely as you like!






Recommended Experience Mods

Jello's Vanilla-ish Wizard My portraits redrawn to be more vanilla-like (kind of), at vanilla resolution. Now features alternative hairstyles AND true two sets seasonal outfits (no RGB Wizard lol). Features several exclusive events that total up to over 14k words worth of content!
Generic Mod Configuration Menu Makes it a ton easier to do your settings.
Compatible Portraits/Sprites Index The community has come together to offer alternate portrait sets with full RRRR compatibility.
Grandpa's Farm
Has an exclusive post-marriage date. Just generally a nice farm map.
Fashion Sense Allows for a lot more flexible outfits such as the one in my screenshots. Also makes it visually possible to wear Magnus' gift following some events in year 4.
Dynamic Reflections Makes a lot of dates more scenic. Especially the ones at night.
Wizard NPC Adventures Created by my great friend Parrot. It is compatible with RRRR, but we have some slightly diverging canons and personalities for Magnus. Some character details are definitely different so take with a grain of salt. 1.6 Update still pending

Witchy Rustic Looks Great if you want to dress like a witch. The hats seems to clip when kissing though.

Gigi's Portraits
Gigi's Anime Portraits (Matching portraits to the Gigi edition ones I use. You don't have to use this if
you don't mind mismatched art/have a compatible portrait mod/ Use my
alternate portrait mod.)
Portraiture Required for using Gigi's portraits and expanded Gigi portraits in the optional files, otherwise optional, but useful if you don't want to natively overwrite portraits/use HDPortraits. Seasonal or alt portrait sets are somewhat buggy and must be manually toggled.





This is assuming the following mods have been updated to 1.6. Obviously, it wouldn't work if it wasn't.

Multiplayer:
Kind of compatible. There are a lot of weird things about multiplayer that this sort of mod does not like (the same applies for SVE). This includes schedule changes, disposition changes, farmhouse events etc. Please check the FAQ for more details.
Happy Birthday Mod: I have included a compatibility content patch. Please unzip it into your happy birthday content folder and overwrite. I only provide spouse dialogue because birthday events are already handled by RRRR. 
Event Limiter: DO NOT USE THIS OR SET THE LIMIT TO LIKE 6+. SERIOUSLY. The mod is already held together with duct tape and glue. Don't test it.
Wizard NPC Adventures: Created by my great friend Parrot. It is compatible with RRRR, but we have some slightly diverging canons and personalities for Magnus. Some character details are definitely different so take with a grain of salt.
Ridgeside Village/East Scarp/ New location mod: I have not played either of these mods, but they should work for the most part. If I do, I may eventually add more compatibility such as festival appearances, and events, etc. I've been told Ridgeside conflicts-lorewise, however.
Romanceable Rasmodia: Now officially out! It may be somewhat buggy or out of date due to my update speed.
Pregnancy Role: Due to the way this mod is programmed in the back end, it actually ends up breaking the the pregnancy and child tokens content patcher provides which I use to determine if a child should be adopted or biological. As a result, all children will tagged as adoption.If you would like to have biological children, please uninstall this mod and change your gender to female at the shrine of illusions (you can keep your appearance roughly the same). Please check the FAQ for more details.
NPC Mods that have a lot of Wizard Lore/Relationships: Think Alecto, Juna, Lunna etc. Largely incompatible unless otherwise specified. There are flat out too many lore/personality conflicts to even attempt to resolve since the Wizard is a very popular exposition character and the RRRR edition has a very specific personality and way of speaking. Use at your own caution.
LittleNPCs + Its content packs (such as farmer's children) (ChildtoNPC is no longer supported in 1.5): Most of the bugs have been resolved for the moment.
Content/ location mods: RRRR should be compatible with most mods, assuming that it doesn't touch the Wizard's content and doesn't overwrite the Wizard for whatever reason. I may consider adding compatibility for other content mods that don't alter the Wizard's romance content if there is enough demand and I personally like the mod. If you do attempt to use mods that overwrite the Wizard with this one, rename the [CP]RRRR folder inside the main folder with a z at the start to force it to load RRRR last (eg. z[CP]RRRR). This will have RRRR overwrite instead. In some specific cases, there may be clipping during events if maps are changed too much from the base SVE experience. Please install a no-clip mod if this is a concern you have.
Farm Mods: All farm maps should work, but I recommend Flashshifter's grandpa's farm mod because there is an exclusive date tied to its private hotspring.
Farmhouse Mods: Broken due to 1.6. Now largely compatible. Most house layouts should have no issues, but certain events require manual compatibility. For a list of which houses have full compatibility, please check this list. I suggest having noclip installed just in case.
Romance Mods: Similar to content mods. As long as it doesn't overwrite/can be disabled, it should be fine. Why would you want to
install this mod if you weren't set on romancing the Wizard though???
Multiple Spouse Mods (like Free Love): This mod will overwrite generic dialogue if the toggle is turned on. I have integrated unique courtship lines compatibility, but some lines will still be overwritten (eg, summit, welwick fortune telling etc) if the toggle is on. Hidden Love Interest mode will not trigger if you have a spouse. This was done specifically because Magnus would definitely not agree to having an affair with anyone and it would be difficult to account for specific mods, so just toggle it off if you insist on having multiple spouses okay?
Character Mods that Overwrite the Wizard: Self explanatory, but not compatible.
Custom Children Mods: Technically compatible, but may clash slightly with some in game text.
Seasonal Outfit Mods: Sometimes these mods will overwrite the wizard sprite. If they do, look through the config which may let you turn off the overwrite feature for some characters, or rename the [CP]RRRR folder inside the main folder with a z at the start to force it to load RRRR last (eg. z[CP]RRRR)
Custom Portrait/ Sprite Mods: 7 expression and 12 expression portraits now have a compatibility toggle. It is still highly recommended to use a fully adapted portrait set!
I have a detailed article on how to adapt existing portrait and sprite mods to RRRR so please reference that for a very detailed breakdown and guide. The community has also started submitting their own fully compatible mods.




Installation is very straight forward, but requires slightly more work if using my default portraits.

Base install: 
  • Make sure all required mods are installed correctly. If they are not, RRRR will not install and throw an error in SMAPI.
  • Download the main mod. Open the zip file and move the "Romanceable Rasmodius Redux Revamp" master folder and move it into your "Mods" folder.
  • Boot up the game, open the mod settings (cog icon on title or the "mod options" button at the very bottom of the ingame settings) and look for "Romanceable Rasmodius Redux Revamp" and go through the configurations to set them based on your preferences.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO LOOK THROUGH THE MOD CONFIGURATIONS BEFORE STARTING TO PREVENT ERRORS AND UNEXPECTED CONTENT!


Updating the Mod:
  • Read my update notes (usually in the stickied comment and the download page) to see if there are any new dependencies or special instructions. If there are, please download them/follow them.
  • Open the [CP]RRRR folder in the main folder and move your config.json file somewhere safe.
  • Delete the entire RRRR main folder and replace it with the new version you've downloaded.
  • Navigate back to the [CP]RRRR folder and move your config.json back into it. 
  • Optional: If I've mentioned that you should generate a new config, please do not move your config.json back into the folder, and instead boot the game and set your configs again through the ingame menu. A config.json file should appear in the folder. That is your new config file.




Using Gigi's Portraits:  (If using mismatched portraits, do the same thing, but make a folder in "Portraits" called RRRR and place the portraits inside). 
  • Download the optional file containing Gigi's portraits here
  • Install Portraiture.
  • Download Gigi's portraits and the optional SVE files from her main mod.
  •  Unzip Gigi's portraits folder somewhere and take a look inside. Unzip the SVE files and put them into the same folder. Follow the instructions on Gigi's page about picking which portraits you like since she offers a lot of alternatives.
  • Open the RRRR optional zip file and open the "RRRR Gigi Portraits" folder
  • Move all portraits into Gigi's Portrait folder and say yes to all overwrite
  • Move Gigi's folder into "Portraiture\Portraits" folder
  • It should now work.
  • If the portrait is not correct, try pressing "p" while the textbox is open to change it in game. Sometimes it's slightly buggy or you may have made a mistake somewhere.

Using Custom Portraits (Must be expanded to or use the config toggle):
  • Install your portrait set according to the mod creator (The majority of the time, it will be some variation of drag and drop)
  • If you are also using a custom sprite, go into the mod config in game and turn "Sprite" to "Use custom" (Must be expanded to be compatible or it will be a bit buggy in certain events.)
  • Count how many expressions you have in your portrait set and select the correct option in the configurations menu under the option "portrait mode".







Please read through the config options before playing the mod.
Some of these are important for making sure you format your experience correctly/to your liking. A shorter version of each description is viewable from the Generic Mod Menu in game, but they're explained in more detail here: 

CONTENT

  • Hidden Love Interest Mode: The intended experience. Makes marrying the Wizard impossible until conditions are met. Please reference "Hidden Love Interest Mod" section for more details. Adds additional events and in-world context to events. I generally recommend keeping this on if you are starting a fresh save in most instances.    Important: TOGGLING THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF A PLAYTHROUGH MAY CAUSE BUGS AND PREVENT SOME EVENTS FROM TRIGGERING. Please check the FAQ for more information.
  • Override Generic Dialogue: Overrides generic universal dialogue. I have since integrated  custom fixed dialogue into RRRR. This will resolve most of the issues, but this toggle is still used to for fringe cases such as Welwick. Please turn it off if you do not plan on marrying Magnus. CUSTOM FIXED DIALOGUE HAS A NEW VERSION! Please download it!
  • Wizard Age Appearance: Changes some dialogue that refers to the Wizard's appearance. He will still be very old, this is just about the surface appearance.
  • Birthday Season: What season the player's birthday is in. Used for events. Please do not set it on a festival day if you don't want potential bugs. For compatibility with the happy birthday mod, please read the compatibility section.
  • Birthday Day: What day the player's birthday is on. Used for events. Please do not set it on a festival day if you don't want potential bugs. For compatibility with the happy birthday mod, please read the compatibility section.
  • Darker Plot Events(Y4): RRRR heavily plays off and expands on one particular SVE event in Y4(This event has a huge number of other requirements). As a result, many of Magnus' darker tendencies and thought process are brought far more to the surface than the hints displayed through normal dialogue. If you would prefer a more light-hearted experience I suggest you turn this off. This plot thread is only somewhat resolved due to me waiting to see what SVE will do with it (if they do nothing, then I will come up with something myself eventually). TW: Overt self-destructive  tendencies and vaguely hinted suicidal tendency implications. Potentially may possess triggering scenarios. (The farmer is briefly kidnapped and sealed into silence about the event.) Toggling this off in the middle of said events will stop them from continuing so you may test it out to see if it's for you.
  • Spicier Content: Enables the most spicy of content. Nothing explicit, but the mod has gotten significantly more spicy due to public demand. Toggling it off will disable much of the more spicy content, but there will still be implications. Please check the FAQ for more information.
VISUAL COMPONENTS
  • Portrait Toggle: Used for portrait compatibility. Please change this based on the number of expressions in your portrait (32 is the default). Important: USING A PORTRAIT SET THAT HAS NOT BEEN EXPANDED To 32 EXPRESSIONS WILL LIKELY COMPROMISE YOUR EXPERIENCE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
  • Sprite: Please leave this on "Use included" if you would like to use the included sprite that matches the portrait. If you have a custom Wizard sprite you would like to use, change this to "Use custom". This is to ensure that RRRR doesn't accidentally overwrite your intended sprite.
  • Use Beach Sprites: Turning this off makes it so the beach sprite is never called. If you are using a custom sprite set that does not have a beach sprite and you have no desire to make a beach sprite, please toggle this off or the game will call an error. This toggle does not impact the portraits what so ever. If the pack you are using does not have beach sprites or the beach sprites are not loaded correctly, the game will crash if you leave this on.
  • Earring Colour: Changes the colour of Magnus' eventual earring gift in the event. Please pick which suit you better. To actually wear them in game, please install the Fashion sense pack and use the hand mirror. They are in the accessory slot and have a sparkle animation. Pick between gold and purple.You will never get these earrings if Darker Plot Events are not active.
  • Caroline and Pierre Expanded Portraits: Toggle this on to use the included slightly expanded Pierre and Caroline portraits. Compatible with vanilla, Poltergeister's slightly cute aesthetic, and my Gigi portraits. Please toggle this off if you're using another portrait set.
  • Wizard Babies: Turn this on if you would like the included wizard baby sprites. Only really makes sense for biological children. For adopted children, I would suggest turning this off.
  • Wizard Baby Hair Strip: Changes the strip of differently coloured hair the wizard babies have. Should match the farmer's natural hair colour. Does nothing if Wizard Babies isn't enabled.
  • Wizard Baby Eye Colour: Changes the colour of the female child's eyes. Should match the farmer's natural eye colour. Does nothing if Wizard Babies isn't enabled.

POST MARRIAGE DATES
  • Date Ask Percent Chance:Only used for post-marriage dates. Configure the chance Magnus will ask you to go on a date upon leaving the farmhouse each day after marriage. Default is 25%, but can be any percent 0-100. Set to 0 to disable the date events. Many dates have unlock conditions. The date is picked randomly from the pool of possible dates you have access to for that weather/season. Please check the list of events for specific details.
  • Min Hearts Required:Only used for post-marriage dates. Change the minimum number of hearts required with Magnus for him to ask you on a date. Default is 10 hearts.
  • Friendship Bonus: Only used for post-marriage dates. Change the amount of friendship received with Magnus if you go on a date with him. 'none' will disable any friendship bonuses, 'small' will increase friendship by 25 points (1/10 of a heart), 'medium' increases by 50 points (2/10 of a heart), and large increases by 100 points (4/10 of a heart).
  • Dates on Festival Days: Only used for post-marriage dates. Enable/Disable being asked on a date on a festival day. Usually many areas are closed or off-limits on festival days, making it impossible for you to complete the date if asked. Enabling this will allow dates to be asked on a date with a festival, even if you won't be able to complete it.
