About this mod

Simplicity of Seasons is essentially a patch to integrate Simplicity of Snow by WSkeever to work effectively with Seasons of Skyrim by Po3. In brief the mod does the following:
- Adds a large number of 'no snow decals to all of Tamriel
- Adds custom meshes/assets to better suit snow environments
- Fixes color bleed

Changelogs
This mod started out as a Simplicity of Snow patch with the aim of removing snow across the southern cities of Skyrim. This is a pretty time consuming task and whilst working on this i decided to fix a number of other issues that make the southern regions feel incongruent with the winter season.

This mod is an ongoing project and is only in its early stages now. Expect ongoing regular updates as i work to to add to the mod and improve what is currently there. The mod itself is quite simple and I am an inexperienced mod creator, that said the task is time consuming and i don't mind doing the grunt work to get it done. This is the only project i am working on so updates should come quite frequently, please understand that there will be some things missing as i work on the project. please feel free to report any issues or missed area's and i will work to add/correct them in the next update.

This mod currently includes:
- Added numerous "no snow" decals with winter variants to Whiterun, Solitude, Riften, Markarth, Riverwood, Windhelm & Falkreath. This removes snow under cover via the Simplicity of snow method. Cities are mostly all completed.
- removed snow from a number of exterior dungeons/forts/towers accross tamriel (WIP)
- Adds some new textures and increases snow on some rooves and other static objects within these zones.
- Removes some textures from mods in winter that don't match the season (bright green moss/ivy on solitude statics for instance).
- Fixes vertex colour issues in these cities that turns snow various blurry shades of green, brown, black etc.
- Adds custom Static objects that work better with snow - Custom solitude manholes, stable bases etc.
- Patch for Turn of the Seasons.
- Patch for Open Cities Skyrim

Future plans/goals in order of priority:
1) Fix some no snow decals that i am not currently happy with as they are not as neat as i would like.
2) Complete Ivarstead (done), Fort Dawnguard and other small settlements
3) Complete a full Seasons OS blacklist to remove all Barrels, crates, braziers, furniture in any under cover spaces (partially done).
5) Add vertex colour fixes to meshes across southern Tamriel. (Use Synth patcher for base Landscape Mesh)
6) Add a patch for JK's Skyrim (started, but is huge due to the number of additional awnings, roof cover and clutter objects added by this mod)
7) add various other patches as required

FAQ:

Q: Load order?

A: load AFTER required files. if you have patches that alter a large number of buildings you may need to place the mod folder at the end of your installation order as there are some NIF's which are directly overwritten and do not have a snow object swap for winter.

Q: is this patch/mod compatible with X?

A: This mod relies upon Seasons of Skyrim by Po3 to replace assets with new meshes. Meshes are Base assets so it "Should" work with most stuff without issue. I have included each city space as its own ESP-FE (will not count to plugin limit) so that if there is a significant issue with one you can just turn it off.

I am mostly focused on getting this out there to find out any issues as i am truthfully still learning a lot. This means i can correct anything that needs to be corrected now before i get deeper into the project. I appreciate any feedback and your patience with this.

Q: Can I install/uninstall mid playthrough?

A: You should not have any issues, but it never hurts to backup a save file if it is particularly special to you. There are some very minor world space edits to add in new objects (stable bases) where no snow decals cannot be placed on the base landscape mesh. i don't THINK that this will cause issues, but proceed with caution anyway.

Q: I have some discoloured/grey snow.

A: this is due to a few possible issues but is usually caused by the interaction of single pass snow shaders with ProjecteUVDiffuseNormal=1 when using custom snow textures.
