Sigrid - Cortex Shieldmaiden Follower
Description
This mods adds Sigrid Shieldmaiden. Sigrid is the most advanced follower we created so far. We worked on this mod for more than two months. Sigrid is a female shield warrior nordic follower. She fights in one handed style with or without shield or alternatively with a bow. The mod comes in English, German and Spanish language.

Helgen keep, torturer area, sitting in a cell. Watch the video when you can't find the location.
Specifics:
Sigrid is set essential and levels .9% of the player. She starts at level 6. No level cap. Sigrid will be a bit over-powered at first but should grow into the player soon.
To prevent her from being too strong at the first levels, balance perks were added, which reduce her armor class and damage dealt.
Sigrid will heal you and your other followers. (Not her primary function so don't depend too heavily on it).
Yes you can marry Sigrid.
Body:
Sigrid comes with her own custom body and skin. A CBBE and a UUNP version are available.
Sigrid has her own warpaints. You can chose from 5 different styles. Those features are not available in the performance version.
Warpaint:
You can ask her to use a warpaint. You can chose from 5 different warpaints. Every warpaint comes with a special enchantment.
Available are resist frost +50%, resist fire +50%, resist shock +50%, resist poison +50% and resist magic +20%. Warpaints are not available in the performance version.
Gear:
Sigrid uses her own unique custom gear. This includes outfit, weapons, shield and jewels. You can chose from 20 different outfits and 4 weapons.
Everything is controlled via dialogs. Please don't try to force her to use different equipment.
Armor:
You can tell her to change her outfit. You can chose from 20 differnt outfits. Every outfit is based on Dragonbone Barbarian Armors. The armor rating of her armors grows automatically with her level to simulate armor tempering. This feature is controlled by perks which apply an armor rating multiplier according to her level. If you want to know the current armor class just ask her and she will tell you (Dialog: "Let me know your Resistances"). Custom outfits are not available in the performance version.
Weapons:
You can tell her which weapon to use. You can chose between Axe, Sword, Hammer and Bow. Chose wisely depending on the situation.
Sigrid uses different interesting individual perks based on Bladesman, Hack and Slay, Bonebreaker and Overdraw. Every weapon type has special advantages:
Sigrid's war axe does 50% more damage to animals and causes more bleeding damage.
Sigrid's hammer does 50% more damage to undead and ignores 50% of armor.
Sigrid's sword does 50% more damage to dragons and has a 25% chance of doing 50% bonus critical damage.
Sigrid's bow does 50% more damage to humans and ignores 50% of armor.
When you tell her to chose a weapon she will automatically equip a tempered version of the weapon according to her level. When using a bow the arrows equipped depend on her level. Arrow ranks are iron, ancient nord, steel, nordic, nord hero, ebony and dragonbone. The levels are:
Untempered: 1 - 9
Fine: 10 - 14
Superior: 15 - 19
Exquisite: 20 - 29
Flawless: 30 - 39
Epic: 40 - 49
Legendary: 50 and above.
Shield:
She will use her shield when you tell her to do so. When you tell her to use her shield she will automatically equip a tempered version of the shield according to her level.
The levels are equal to those of the weapons. Sigrid uses a custom perk based on the perk Shield Wall with the following feature:
Sigrid's shield makes blocking 50% more effective and has 25% chance to deflect all arrows damage.
Spell Tome: Call Sigrid
Yes you can summon her from anywhere once you learn the spell.
Perks:
Specific to her combat style. Some perks are custom.
Additional features:
- You can tell her to use a torch.
- You can ask her for food and beverages.
- You can ask her for a healing potion. The strength of the potion you will get depends on your level.
- You can ask her for lockpicks, a pickaxe or a woodcutter's axe.
- You can ask her for her spell tome. This way you are able to learn her summon spell.
- You can ask her to tell you her skills. She will show you her attributes, skills or resistances.
- All features are accessible via dialogue. The new dialogues are not voiced. So, don't forget to turn on subtitles.
Versions:
CBBE Version:
Sigrid comes with her own body and textures. This version uses the CBBE special body with the pure CBBE skin. Physics are applied to the naked body only.
Her body shape and the shape of her armors are based on CBBE Juno preset (see credits).
UUNP Version:
Sigrid comes with her own body and textures. This version uses the UUNP body with the pure UNP skin. Physics are applied to the naked body only.
Her body shape and the shape of her armors are based on the Bathsheba Body SE (see credits).
Performance Version:
This version is a stripped down version of the other two. There is no custom body, no custom body textures, no warpaints and no custom armor.
Sigrid will accept whatever body you use. Her appearance will vary depending on body and textures used. She will wear whatever you give her.
How to install ?
Use a mod manager of your choice:
Mod Organizer 2, Nexus Mod Manager, Vortex:
Install as usual. Run the FOMOD-installer and choose your options.
Wrye Bash:
Not tested. The newest WB supports FOMOD installers. If it doesn't work you can use MO2 or NMM to pick your poison and repack the result as 7zip-file. After that you can install the new created archive in WB.
Manual installation:
not supported
Install mid-playthrough?
Yes.
Uninstall mid-playthrough?
Not tested but should be okay.
Requirements
Skyrim Special Edition. USSEP technically not needed but highly recommended.

Performance Impact
The mod is lightweight. She uses her own body with 4K textures. When you are short on VRam better use the default version which uses the resources you have installed already. The mod contains a couple of scripts. All scrips are run once and done scripts, so there is no script lag at all.
Compatibility / Limitations
It should be compatible with every follower framework.
However use follower frameworks with caution. Not every feature of every follower framework available was tested with Sigrid. At least don't try to force her to use different equipment. Doing so will probably break many features of the mod. When you wish to give her a different armor use the performance version.
BBLS Bathing Beauties or Beefcake - Luxury Suite SE: When she uses the pool in the Luxury Suite her paint is stripped off. There is nothing I can do about it. Technically speaking the warpaints are outfits which are stripped off by BBLS when using pools and beds.
Flower Girls: When playing a scene the war paint is stripped from the body.
Known Issues
None so far. The mod was checked for errors and cleaned with SSEEdit. The ESP is form 44 of course.

FAQ
Q: Do you have permission from Cortex56 to publish the mod?
A: Yes, I have.
Q: Sigrid's gear does not appear in her inventory - help?
A: Her things are not usable by the player. This is intended and not a bug.
Q: She doesn't switch to the better version of her weapon / shield - help?
A: You need to ask her to unequip her weapon / shield first. After that let her equip the weapon / shield again. When she has reached the needed level the better version
of the weapon / shield will be equipped.
Q: I have too litte ESP slots. Can I flag this as ESL?
A: Yes, you can do this. Just set the esl flag using SSEEdit. No need to compact form ID's.
Q: Can you provide ESL files ?
A: I considered it, but no.
Q: Does this mod work with Skyrim VR ?
A: Usually this kind of mod should work, but I don't know it for sure. I don't own VR equipment and cannot test it. You have to find it out by yourself.
Q: Can you port the mod for XB1 ?
A: No. I don't use XB1.
Q: Can you backport this mod to Oldrim ?
A: Why still using Oldrim? Switch to SSE. It's time. Really. I mean it.
