Few words regarding the "squishing" issue introduced with 1.6.1130+ update of the game.
With the release of the 1.6.1130+ update, Bethesda have changed the UI scaling logic in the game. This way they "fixed" the UI on screens with aspect ratios larger than 16:9 (so called ultrawide). But they "fixed" it in a very stupid way. See, now, for example, using the basic SkyUI or even the vanilla Skyrim UI, with a 21:9 screen, the user interface will be simply stretched horizontally. All the UI elements on screen will be stretched. Bethesda use the same ingenious solution in Starfield and in the infamous "next-gen" patch for Fallout 4.
Therefore, old mods that fixed the UI for ultrawide aspect ratios no longer work. The fix built into Dear Diary Dark Mode does not work as well. I won't go into detail, the point is that previously it was enough to make the menu compatible with a very large aspect ratio (for example, 32:9, like in my mod), and all aspect ratios up to this one worked as intended. And with the 1.6.1130+ patch the UI image with this ratio (32:9) will be squished to 16:9, which leads to the mentioned problem.
Me too, but this is first time setup and i'm using AE with Vortex... Issue is likely caused by myself.
Okay, figured it might be faster to check comments on the similar mod which changed the menu linked in the description, and first post by "Zeal0t7" covers this for AE; [Skyrim Install Folder]/Data/meshes/interface/logo/logo.nif rename to logo01ae.nif
It sorta reverses our situation, instead of having the map image briefly before going to the old menu, it now shows the old image for a moment before jumping to the map background from this mod. Temporary fix for now I guess =]
If anyone is having issues with the stats menu while using the Experience mod, grab the statsmenu.swf from the 3.0.5 version which is still compatible.
Greetings! Really love the mod, but recently I encountered a problem. For some reason, items are not displayed in the inventory, instead of 3D models I just have empty space. Could this be a compatibility issue? I have installed all the requirements, and besides that the only mods that change the interface in my mod list are Atlas Map Markers SE, Flat World Map Framework (FWMF), moreHUD and moreHUD Inventory Edition
I really love this mod. I'm having issues with the system menu where the Mod Configuration option shows up twice(the second is actually the controls menu) and the 'Quit' button is useless so I've had to console quit out of the game. None of the other UI options I'm using seem to be overwriting Diary but I'm sure there's some conflict I'm missing. I'm just curious if anyone else has run into a similar problem. I have not previously had a problem with them until I added Dear Diary to the mix... Stay At System Page, Yes I'm Sure, Whose Quest Is It Anyway, moreHUD, show player in menus(only set for inventory), iHUD, SKYUI Ghost Item Bug Fix, Skyrim Character Sheet are the others I'm using. I guess it'll just be a process of elimination. Also using MCM helper. Sorry if this posted twice.
I have another problem... all crafting menus (cooking, smelter, smithy, etc) aren't in the ui, but in the regular SkyUi black one mit black letters which you can't see... Is there a file I missed maybe?
Ah that sounds like the culprit - I can't test it at tge moment though because I kinda kept ruining the game because I couldn't decide which mods are unnecessary and got fed up with Skyrim for tge kinent xD
Beautiful Ui tho I am having an issue and idk if anyone else is too but after installing only thing not showing up anymore is the active effects timers on my top right corner form sky ui is there a patch i need to look out for and any changes to them ur planning to do at all? and if not is there any possible fix to this besides the normal uninstall the mod?
I'm having a strange issue where the difficulty adjuster is no longer visible in the gameplay menu in the settings after I redownloaded this mod. Maybe something in the .txt I can change?
The inventory replacer was oddly thin for me and I basically had to squint hard as hell to make anything out; is it because my monitor is 16:10? It isn't actually that huge of a difference from 16:9 or so I thought. I see in the sticky there is a post about it. Going to try the widescreen scale remover and see if that does it. Just didn't think the difference would be that big for me. I'll have to upload it if it doesn't resolve it. (It fixed it; I can't believe that big of a difference was made from 16:9 to 10).
I get odd occurrences from the unusual ratio occasionally but generally it doesn't seem that bad. Bethesda man.
Same issue here. I press ESC and then my application is just gone instantly.
FIX: Not sure which of these exactly was giving me issues, but I disabled "SkyUI - Survival Mode", "SkyUI SE - Difficulty Persistence Fix", and "Dear Diary Dark Mode (warm) Persistence Fix" all at once and then suddenly the issue was gone! HOWEVER: The difficulty will keep resetting to "Novice." Because of this, I compromised and re-enabled "SkyUI SE - Difficulty Persistence Fix" and this allows me to set the difficulty. The trade-off to this is that the pause menu no longer has the diary theme applied. The rest of the UI seems to still have it though.
Hi, does anyone else have the problems that that preview effect of all spells is right behind the menu, so I only see it when I close it for a second. And the cooking menu is not Paper, but regular SkyUI but witch black letter so you can't see anything.
I am losing my mind trying to get this mod to work, everything works fine except the crafting menus. I've spent so long trying to fix it, seeing people comment: "just put it at the bottom of the load order lol" I CAN'T, It's not showing up on either MO2 or Vortex so I literally do not know how to change the load order because the mod isn't there for me to move? For the love of god can somebody help me out here?
lmao 2AM here and I have the exact same issue. Apparently we have to put it after campfire but vortex won't let us do that so we here endlessly searching for a fix. I'm just going to close my computer and go to bed at this point lol
EDIT: I needed a patch for COCKS (didn't even know the crafting UI wasn't part of skyUI, didn't even know I had cocks since I use gate to sovngard collection). I'm goint to sleep now.

As a temporary solution, you can use this fix: Dear Diary DM and Paper (Squish) Fixes
December 2024 UPDATE:
The issue is now solved. Install this mod if you are on 1.6.1130+ version of the game:
Widescreen Scale Removed for 1-6-1130 and higher
Kudos to SkyHorizon!
P.S. You still need Dear Diary DM and Paper Difficulty Persistence Fixes by xcal68.
