"Our duty, as soldiers, is to protect humanity . . . whatever the cost."

-The Master Chief

It is said that during the Tiber Wars, the Emperor searched far and wide for any and all ancient relics that could be used as weapons to consolidate his empire.  One such relic was an ancient armor system, developed long ago by the Dwemer, that combined machines and magic to turn its wearer into an invincible super-soldier.  The Empire stole these secrets and redeveloped them, creating a deadly fighting force of armored warriors called Spartans.  Enhanced with super-human abilities and fitted with advanced armor and weapons, these knights became the cornerstone of the Imperial army and helped carve out the bloody Septim empire.  But as the years went by and lasting peace reigned over a united Tamriel, the memory of these mighty soldiers faded into obscurity.

But as the old stories say:  Spartans . . . never die.

As a long-time Halo fan, and in light of the recent release of Infinite and the MCC, I decided I'd bring a little bit of that into Skyrim.  I always thought it would be interesting to imagine what a medieval-era version of the MJOLNIR armor would look like.  Using a number of different armor pieces from both the vanilla game and a number of mods, I pieced together different bits to create a somewhat convincing set of armor that still feels grounded in the world of Skyrim.  Then from there I started adding some more Halo-inspired items and armors, while still trying to keep things as lore-friendly-ish as possible.

This mod adds a few new sets of armor, loosely based on the MJOLNIR armor from the Halo series, as well as a whole arsenal of other weapons inspired by Halo.

-There are two main types of armor:  Orion and Mjölnir.  The Orion armor is made by the Dwarves, and matches vanilla Dwarven items.  The Mjölnir armor is made by the Empire, and matches the vanilla Steel armor.  All armor pieces have heavy enchantments with significant ability buffs.

-There are many variations of each armor type, both in light and heavy armor, including a variety of helmet designs.

-The Mjölnir armors can be painted using a number of different color schemes.  (Green, Red, Blue, White, Black)

-There are also a number of auxiliary items using Dwemer mechanical components that are worn over the armor and add extra buffs and enchantments.

-There is a functional grappleshot (as a spell) based on the item in Halo Infinite.

-There is a whole suite of Halo-themed weapons, including a few crossbow variations that should look a little familiar.

-There are a few added dungeon spaces full of valuable loot.  It will take a little bit of searching to find everything.

-There are two surviving Spartans that can become followers, but you'll have to find them first.

To find the secrets of the Spartan Program, start by visiting Tonilia in the Ragged Flagon.  There is a book sitting beside her and a letter from a soldier up in Solitude that will point you in the right direction.

The Spartan Armory is hidden in the basement of Castle Dour.  There is a boarded-up door in the back corner of the barracks.  The Orion Armory is located in the Ruins of Bthalft, in a hallway off of the main Aetherium Forge chamber (you have to go through the lava to get there.)

-Both armories are locked with leveled master locks, so they can be picked, but there are keys to be found if you search hard enough.

-The Neural Implants add a huge amount of buffs, but will also cause a huge amount of damage when used.  Only the strongest will survive the process.

-The Assault Bow uses a semi-auto script to fire up to 7 bolts before reloading, but the script is a little bit janky sometimes.

-The Battle Bow has two glass sights; only one is functional.  The other is purely to give it the classic "battle rifle" aesthetic.  I have not tested to see if it works with the "sighted crossbow animation" mod (but I believe it will end up too high.)  I may do a patch for that at some point.

-The hood and cloak are specifically sized to fit over the Mjölnir Assault Armor and Helmet; it will probably look weird with anything else.

-When installing, you might get a message to overwrite a script called "MANDGauntletScript".  This is just a simple script that adds/removes spells when you equip/unequip an item, and I use it in several of my mods.  Just go ahead and let it overwrite; it shouldn't change anythign.

-Sometimes the stealth enchantments stops triggering properly when you crouch.  Un-equipping and re-equipping the armor should reset it.
-The main helmet type is actually split into a helmet and separate visor.  These means you *can* wear the visor without the helmet or over other helmets, but it will look silly.
-The boots are supposed to greatly reduce fall damage, but I think that only works to a certain height.  After that, you die instantly regardless of damage.

-Add custom dialogue to a few NPCs.
-Figure out how to make the hardlight shield and swords "pop" on and off like real energy weapons.
-Animate the hardlight weapons so they shimmer and pulse.
