- Summary -
General Lighting Overhaul is a fully scripted, highly configurable adjustment to the lighting and postprocessing in nearly all areas of the game. Drawing inspiration from Qolore7's Simple Interior Lighting Overhaul, the mod takes the form of a modular series of scripts that allow for sweeping changes to the game's visuals without the workload and compatibility nightmare that is editing weather and cell forms. GLO comes out of the box with vanilla adjacent settings tailored for Tale of Two Wastelands, but can be configured to suit virtually any load order, allowing for general tweaks such as darker nights, more vivid interiors, or less pronounced color tint.

- Requirements -
xNVSE: 6.3.4 or higher.
JIP LN NVSE: 57.21 or higher.
JohnnyGuitar NVSE: 4.98 or higher.
AnhNVSE: 1.3.1 or higher.
SUP NVSE: 8.51 or higher.
ShowOff NVSE: 1.75 or higher.
MoonlightNVSE: Soft requirement, GLO's default settings are tailored for MoonlightNVSE's moon phases.

- Description -
General Lighting Overhaul is my take on a scripted solution for the Gamebryo Fallouts' lackluster lighting. It's fully configurable, highly compatible, and covers nearly everything from weathers to interiors to individual light sources. The goal is to produce an overall "good enough" enhancement over vanilla while supporting other mods that follow similar lighting conventions, specifically Tale of Two Wastelands. GLO does this at runtime by overriding ImageSpace values and multiplying against lighting values, creating a suite of settings you can adjust in any direction you desire. The mod edits no forms and does not affect your saves, making it a lightweight method to tweak the look of the game to your liking without the need to patch any weather or lighting mods you may be using.

GLO was born from my frustrations with the vanilla lighting and the amount of effort required to improve it. While I feel vanilla is functional and looks good stylistically, the poor contrast paired with overzealous ambient brightness and light bloom produces a mostly flat image that doesn't do much to enhance the game's atmosphere. Exteriors at night are particularly egregious with their "day for night" look that feels at odds with the player's permanent access to a flashlight and New Vegas's introduction of night vision devices and chems. Over the years, I became partial to the look of pairing Interior Lighting Overhaul with Nights are Darker, but the endless patching and lack of support for TTW or mod-added locations made me yearn for something simpler.

Drawing inspiration from SILO, all of General Lighting Overhaul's edits are done via script at runtime. The mod comes with my personal vanilla plus style settings by default, but empty configurations and compatibility INIs for other mods like Atmospheric Lighting Tweaks will be provided over time under Optional Files. Anyone is free to upload their personal settings as their own or provide them to be uploaded here.

- Configuration -
General Lighting Overhaul is made up of three independently configurable modules:

GLO_Moonlight - Covers nighttime weathers and ImageSpace Modifiers. Allows per-DLC tuning of ambient lighting and distant fog.
GLO_Sunlight - Covers daytime weathers and ImageSpace Modifiers, including dawn and dusk. Allows per-DLC tuning of ambient lighting and distant fog.
GLO_Lamplight- Covers interior cell lighting and ImageSpaces. Allows for tweaking of light sources by type, such as streetlights, fire barrels, Pip-Boy, etc.

Each module has its own configuration file containing a cheat sheet that details what each setting does and how to adjust them. Every feature can be tweaked to your liking or turned off if you prefer its vanilla behavior or another mod's. If you want to exclude a module entirely, you can simply disable it by setting bEnabled in its corresponding INI to zero.

- Compatibility -
Tale of Two Wastelands - Supported.

- Technical -
The mod runs at MenuMode 4 and walks all CELLs, LIGHs, IMADs, IMGSs, and WTHRs. It applies settings defined in the config files and constrains the results with simple rules to account for edge cases.
