What does Chemfluence do?

Chemfluence is a dynamic Fallout 4 mod that revolutionizes combat interactions. This innovative modification enhances AI behavior by integrating two key factors: chem usage and weapon choice. With Chemfluence, AI characters not only respond to chem consumption with distinct combat strategies but also adapt their tactics based on the weapons they wield. Ranged weapon users maintain distance, shotgun enthusiasts close in for impactful shots, and melee combatants showcase various behaviors like flanking, aggressive assaults, or skillful defensive maneuvers. This mod elevates combat realism and unpredictability, making each engagement a unique and strategic experience.



Combat Behavior by weapon
Chemfluence introduces several new combat styles to NPCs, which are randomly selected per NPC and change depending on chem usage.

Melee Weapons
4 new combat behaviors. This will spice up your melee combat experience, as different raiders, can have different behaviors. Some like more to block. Others are more aggressive. Some like to flank before they attack. 

Ranged Weapons
6 new combat behaviors. They have different ranges they prefer. Some NPCs like to get closer. Some may stay further away and prefer to snipe you. Others may don't care about their bullets and shoot more aggressiv but less accurate, while others take their time for more precise shots at you. 

Shotgun Weapons
3 new combat behaviors. For the first time, your enemy now knows that he is wielding a shotgun and needs to get close and personal with you.

Scope Weapons
6 new combat behaviors. For the first time, your enemy now knows that he is wielding a weapon with a scope and tries to keep his distance from you to line up the perfect shot.



Combat Behavior by faction
Behaviors can vary, depending on the faction

Raider
9 new combat behaviors. Raiders' drug use corrodes their aiming precision, causing erratic shots. Chemical haze blurs accuracy, turning once-deadly marksmen into unpredictable adversaries.

Super Mutant
15 new combat behaviors. Forged through experimentation, super mutants exhibit extraordinary shooting prowess, owed to advanced sensors and heightened perception. Their combat mastery extends to potent melee skills, reflecting remarkable strength and aggression, though defensive capabilities remain limited.

Synth
15 new combat behaviors. Synths demonstrate exceptional shooting skills, attributed to advanced sensors and heightened perception. Their proficiency extends to melee combat, showcasing adept reflexes and versatility in various engagements.



Combat Behavior by chem
Chems can influence the combat behavior, but also their capabilities additionally. 

Melee
Psycho, Psychobuff, Buffout, MedX will make melee attackers more aggressive and enhance their combat skills.
PsychoJet, Psychotats, Mentats, Jet, XCell will make melee attackers more defensive and they will try to stalk and flank you.


Ranged Weapons
Psychobuff, XCell, Buffout, MedX will make them more aggressive against you but also take cover when needed.
Psycho, Psychotats, PsychoJet, will make them more aggressive against you, but they care less about cover.
Jet, Mentats, will make them less aggressive, but highly accurate.




Additional Combat Behavior 
An additional new combat behavior is retreat and taking cover. When NPCs get wounded, you can set a health threshold and chance, where they try to retreat/take cover from you and be more defensive. This behavior can be configured with MCM.



Recommendation 

For optimal results, it's strongly advised to utilize this mod in conjunction with NPCs Use Items. This collaboration is especially beneficial as it addresses the tendency for Raiders and their allies to be more selective in their chem consumption.
However, even without the NPCs Use Items mod, the core functionality of this mod remains intact. The weapon-centric component of the mod significantly transforms basic AI behavior, ushering in a new era of combat dynamics within Fallout 4.




Compatiblity

Is this mod compatible with XY? Yes. 

If you are using Better Locational Damage, make sure to turn off the AI-System of BLD.

Better Power Armor - Redux

Configurable Artillery allows you to control several settings of the artillery. In
addition to that, it features an optimised script for faster shooting
artillery. The rate of fire, spread, range and more can be easily
adjusted with MCM.

Third Person First Person Aiming
Allows you to switch from third to first person while aiming and switches you back, when you release the aim button.

Better Locational Damage
Most realistic damage overhaul you'll find on the whole nexus. Promised.
Features: Scripted headshots, scripted dismemberment, bleedings, stagger ,stab 
your enemies from behind, Shotgun knockback and more! Balanced melee and
range combat. Settings holotape and MCM available to tweak features to your 
liking or completely disable them!

Game Configuration Menu
GCM allows you easily set many game settings without the need of additional ESPs or console commands. It's awesome.

Survival Configuration Menu
Features a brand new eat and drink system, which relies on weight of the item
instead of the caps value and allows you to control it. In addition to
that, you can tweak many aspects of the survival added features. Like
tweaking disease chance, disabling Adrenaline. Choose how long you can
maximally sleep on the different bet types. And more.

Complex Vendors
Known from Skyrim and other games, many vendors are restricted. You can't
sell everything to anyone. This also prevents the player from piling up
currency. This mod applies several restrictions to several NPCs. For
example, a doctor can only buy and sell chem related items. But there
are still some stores, where you can dump everything.
