Hope folks enjoy this update. It entailed a lot of work over the past month or so. I'll also try to get the optional files updated either later today or tomorrow. Edit: Savior's Hide Replacer remade and uploaded. Now a FOMOD installer to pick from any of the armor models and fur colors (or vanilla/replacer textures). Also updated the Original Texture Support file. Need to update the Wolf Armor replacer next.
New in 2.1: -Remade most of the models from scratch (such as to make them more compatible with other gauntlets, aka finally fix the infamous invisible elbow issue caused from how I originally did the partitions to eliminate clipping with the wolf gauntlets meshes, etc). -Gauntlets refitted to both the steel plate armor arms _0 and _1 meshes for both male and female versions. Introduced open finger versions of the gauntlets, with or without claws, for all fur colors, in light and heavy versions. Also redid the partitions to use both slot 34 - Forearms, and slot 33 - Hands, like most other gauntlets in the game. This should help eliminate clipping with the steel plate armor meshes, and even the vanilla bodies. -All items (except helmets) have had new female models created. A decade + later since I initially created this mod, I've finally done it. -Added paw versions of the boots from my Wearable Beast/Werewolf items mods. Comes in all four fur colors, with light and heavy versions.
Any update on the sleeve clipping issue? If you don't want to do it yourself, do you think you could point me in the right direction for how to fix it? I still love this mod, but I'd really like to see it fully functional with other gauntlets, and I'd be willing to try fixing the issue myself. I'm just not really sure where to start.
Okay, just to update you, I've opened the meshes in Nifskope and the CK, but I'm not sure what the problem is. You mentioned in a response to an earlier post that the partition numbers for the forearms were the problem. Looking at the meshes, the sleeves of the steel plate armor mesh are assigned under the SBP_34_FOREARMS slot. Should I change that, and if so, to what? If not, what else needs to be done? I'm flying blind here, but I'm curious to at least test this myself.
So I know you're aware of the sleeves issue, but... any word on a potential fix? I appreciate your effort to not make the sleeves clip into the gauntlets, but it seems like it's taking a lot of work for you to fix. Maybe you could consider using a set of simpler mail sleeves (think like the standard hold guard armor, where the rings end about midway down the upper arm, and the sleeves end pretty much right at the elbow), so that there are no long sleeves to create clipping issues in the first place?
In all honesty, every time this is brought up I either get side tracked (lack of interest, working on other things, playing other games, etc), or don't have the energy to work on it (depression, etc). At this point I really need to just suck it up and get it done (as in this week).
Can you get the brown version of the armor without the steel plate underneath it, just the pants, on the actual Saviors hide? Theres only the steel plate version right?
Do you mean for the replacer file? It uses the original version of the armor I created for the mod which is the one that is the mashup with the steel plate armor. If you extract the bsa and find the armor mesh you want and do some file renaming, you should be able to replace it. Though you might also need to change the texture file paths in nifskope because if I recall correctly, I used texture sets in the CK for the new fur color variants, and the default color was black.
is this an update of the same armor that had a kind of crown/circlet based on the wolf helmet? I have been recently getting back into the game and have been looking everywhere for that thing! Also on my faraam retexture page a few people were inquiring about that helmet.
Nope. Never had anything like this in this mod. Was just kind of something I thought to put together years ago and have been working on it here and there, with different variations (the original was just a mashup of the savior's hide and steel plate armors). Had a look at your mod's page, but damn it does look neat. Hope you can find it.
Thanks for the heads up. Also checked your mod page out too. Looks good.
Maybe once I come back to Skyrim, I'll give it a go, and fix up the meshes to be more compatible with other gauntlets other then the ones included here (aka the wolf gauntlets). It's long overdo at this point.
Did you not see my reply? I already said you don't need too, since I already ported it. https://mods.bethesda.net/#en/workshop/skyrim/mod-detail/3015759
There is support for female characters actually, although it is just the male version of the meshes. Although if I recall correctly, the wolf boots and gloves meshes, that this set's were based on, and maybe the helmets too, were shared by the sexes.

Nice mod anyway if I was a male I would use it.
Edit: It's updated now.
