About this mod

Adds new wearable claws, ears, horns, and tails based on the Argonian, Khajiit, and werewolf currently. Compatible with all sexes, and vanilla races (with partial beast race support - see long description for more details). All ears use slot 43, horns use slot 49, and all tails use slot 40.

Adds new wearable claws, ears, horns, and tails based on the Argonian, Khajiit, and werewolf currently. Compatible with all sexes, and vanilla races (with partial beast race support - see below for more details). All ears use slot 43, horns use slot 49, and all tails use slot 40. As of Version 1.1 all items include ground models (see credits for more info). Included is a skeleton replacer based on the vanilla skeleton so that the tails can be used for non-beast races. It is just the beast race skeletons renamed, replacing the human skeletons. This is a must to use the tails. If one uses a skeleton replacer just let it overwrite the one from this mod, as long as it supports the tail bones for non-beast races.

  • Argonian Horns 01-28 (compatible with all sexes, and vanilla races)
  • Argonian Tail (compatible with all sexes, and vanilla races, except KhajiitRace and KhajiitRaceVampire)
  • Khajiit Ears (sits higher on the head; compatible with all sexes, and vanilla races, except KhajiitRace, and KhajiitRaceVampire)
  • Khajiit Ears Alternate (closer to the default human ears; compatible with all sexes, and vanilla races, except KhajiitRace, and KhajiitRaceVampire)
  • Khajiit Tail (compatible with all sexes, and vanilla races, except ArgonianRace, and ArgonianRaceVampire)
  • Werewolf Ears (compatible with all sexes, and vanilla races, except KhajiitRace, and KhajiitRaceVampire)
  • Werewolf Tail (compatible with all sexes, and vanilla races)
  • Werewolf Claws (available in Slot 49, 52, 55,  and 61; compatible with all sexes, and races, can be used with any glove or gauntlet, etc, could be clipping and/or gaps)
  • Werewolf Claws (Hands) (compatible with all sexes, and races; set to Slot 33 - Hands)
  • Werewolf Paws  (compatible with all sexes, and vanilla races; set to Slot 37 - Feet and Slot 38 - Calves; could be clipping and/or gaps)

How to craft (at any forge):
  • Argonian Horns 01-28: 2 Slaughterfish Scales, 2 Leather Strips
  • Argonian Tail: 2 Slaughterfish Scales, 2 Leather Strips
  • Khajiit Ears: 1 Elves Ear, 2 Leather Strips
  • Khajiit Ears Alternate: 1 Elves Ear, 2 Leather Strips
  • Khajiit Tail: 1 Thistle, 2 Leather Strips
  • Werewolf Ears: 1 Wolf Pelt, 2 Leather Strips
  • Werewolf Tail: 1 Wolf Pelt, 2 Leather Strips
  • Werewolf Claws (any version): 1 Wolf Pelt, 2 Leather Strips
  • Werewolf Paws: 1 Wolf Pelt, 2 Leather Strips
  • The Werewolf Paws versions of the boots requires 1 Werewolf Boots, and 1 of the boots (such as Iron Boots, etc) to craft, and in the inventory to show up in the crafting menu, and the appropriate Smithing perks (if applicable).
  • There are recipes to revert the boots back to their former state, which will require 1 of the Werewolf Boots (such as Iron Boots (Werewolf), etc) to craft, and in the inventory to show up in the crafting menu, and the appropriate Smithing perks (if applicable). Additional materials may be required.

Issues:

  • Double ears and/or clipping with the original ears (in the case of the Khajiit Ears, Khajiit Ears Alternate, and the Werewolf Ears). I do not seem able to hide the default ears, despite all the new ears using slot 43 - Ears in the nif files, and in the Armor, and Armor Addon records. I can't imagine the ears will look good on elf characters as a result, sorry.
  • Clipping with certain hairstyles.
  • Textures for several of the ground models now use their own texture path and custom normal maps, and as a result will not be compatible with custom texture replacers without a little work. Open the spoiler below to see how to resolve it:

For Argonian textures you will need to copy the argonianfemalebody.dds, and argonianmalebody.dds textures into the Data\Textures\faelbeaststuff\argonian folder, and for Khajiit textures, you will need to copy bodymale.dds, femalebody.dds, femalehead.dds, khajiitmalehead.dds into the Data\Textures\faelbeaststuff\khajiit folder. You will also need to create the normal maps to match. This tutorial is what I used, and you only need GIMP to create it.


To do next:

  • Argonian horns and tails (Added in Version 1.1)
  • Beast race support (Partially resolved in Version 1.1: Argonians still cannot use the Khajiit Tail and vice versa due to unresolved texture issues. When testing the tails equipped, the Argonian tail texture would show up on the Khajiit Tail, and vice versa, so for the meantime until I can get to the root of the issue, I have not enabled them able to use the other's tail)
  • Argonian Horns on females need to be set to use the female Argonian textures, and horns on males need to be set to use the male Argonian textures. The Argonian Horns 01-17 are based off the female "hair" styles, and the Argonian Horns 18-28 are based off the male "hair" styles, and currently use those textures as a result.
  • Wearable werewolf claws (Added in Version 1.2)
  • Stuff from animals like: wolves, foxes, goat, rabbit, deer, elk, etc
