V 2 Update to 2.0 IMPROVED  TEXTURES FOR MOST PARTS!
The weapon is now even rustier with congealed grease that has barely kept it function over a brutal 200 years. Leveled list Implementation, should have a chance of showing up at each of the faction specific merchants, as well as rarely spawning at shops. At high enough levels Brotherhood soldiers should carry the weapon sometimes and Railroad heavies should use them with mostly the lighter-weight components.

Experimental Pre-war rifle. A.50 caliber semi/full auto beast designed to equip power armored soldiers with firepower more appropriate to their strength and carrying capacity. While mingun are terrific for area fire and supression, this rifle is capable of accurate direct fire against enemy personel, power arrmor, and vehicles. While plasma weapons are far lighter, they have far less penetration, and are far more complex. While many prototypes and interchangable parts were made and designed, the project failed to reach acceptance before the bombs fell. Prototypes occasionally surface in the commonwealth, including a few rumored to have unique modifications. The two automatic firerates are slow, it is a .50cal after all. 300rpm and 450rpm, reminiscent of different models of the BAR. If you play on hardcore mode, be prepared for the weight of the ammunition in addition t the gun.

The weapon is intended to be powerful, high level appropriate, but balanced. Comment any balance concerns you may have. Can be found in a few preset locations, if you want to find it on your own, ignore the next line.

Sagus ironworks, federal supply cache 84ne, federal surveilance station, quincy ruins on the freeway, and fort strong by the mini nukes.

Several Leveled Receivers available, 3 magazine sizes, 2 muzzles, 4 barrels, Scopes and ACOG-like combat sights, and a Unique "aim assisting" targeting optic. 4 Stocks. An anti-materiel rifle, an HMG or battle rifle, However you carry it, the XM50 can answer all of your problems.

*known issues! Not spawning on npcs or in shops, will address soon. There are still several of the weapons placed throughout the world in sufficientlty challenging locations.  Implementation however no longer involves any scripts.

HOPEFULLY: custom anims someday soon. Contact me if you are an animator interested.

If you have an eatablished youtube channel and would like to feature this go right ahead, just let me know its coming out, I would love to have a video to link to this page.

Many thanks too: Undyne777 for teaching me how to get the models and textures in-game, Mike Moore, teaching me also about getting the models in-game, as well as generously devoting his time to making the barrel reciprocate. Henkspemadress for helping learn the new NIF formats. Thank you to a_blind_man for the leveled list implementation_brilliant tools but I couldn't get it to work ( I'm not a script guy at all.). And honorary mention, Steampunk755 who I collaborated with to arrange for new animations but ultimately was not able too. If I failed to mention you (half the helpful people from the nexus) I apologize and will credit you if you make me aware of your oversight. All meshes, Textures and concept art are my own.

Go get em' tiger.

Reccomended mod to accompany: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16378/? changes the lock on sound to something more interesting. Certainly noisier than the default sound but it better conveys what is being done in my opinion. The m77 gunsight included in this mod was a US military attempt at reverse engineering the Pip-Boy tech and incorporating it into an advanced optic. Heavy, but provides an unparalleled improvement to hit probably at medium and short range.
