About this mod
improvement of vanilla eye textures (256-512px) to higher quality (1k) - NOT a simple upscale -while keeping their distinct characteristics;
added more eye colors to roster (useful for modders) without replacing anything

I used a bit of upscaling, hand-painting & dark rituals to get a better resolution, while keeping the charm and colorfullness of an original texture.

There are 2 main archives to choose from:
HQ EYES UPGRADE - REPLACER
Main File
Upgrades all common & unique diffuse eye textures to its HQ version in 1k resolution.
Upgrades the normal texture (iris relief) to its handpainted HQ version in 1k resolution.
Holds some minute changes to colors of some textures, full changeglog below.
Does NOT include the following textures:
- most monster eyes (Dettlaff, godlings)
- some quest eyes (Hermit, Eight, poked eye)
- Oriana cause her textures are good quality already
COMPATIBLE or PARTIALLY COMPATIBLE with he_ meshes edits (Realistic Eyes Fixed (Book-Friendly), Blue eyes for Triss, Karkulizin's NPC Overhauls), as long as they use vanilla texture paths
COMPATIBLEwith Witcher eyes updates - Witcher eye texture is not included
COMPATIBLE with LOD adjustments and other visual fixes (check Recommended section!)
INCOMPATIBLE with eye texture updates, as they do the same thing

Main File
Adds 38 new eye colors in vanilla style, but does NO CHANGES on its own. This is just a resource!

FAQ
- What archive should I choose?
If you're a User and don't have any other mods using resources from this one, choose Replacer.
If you're a Modder and want to play with new eye colors for the mods you make, or you're a User and have other mods using this one as their requirement, choose Collection.
- Can I make a mod with these textures?
Yes, please do - that's why there's Collection option included! However, to keep it fair, please DO NOT include textures I made to your mod - just link users to this one as a requirement, instead.
- Is it compatible with X mod?
If the X mod has textures in it - it's not compatible, and one mod's changes will overwrite the other. Just place this mod low in your mod list and allow other mods to overwrite it, you'll be fine.
- Is it mergeable?
YES and NO. I would advise against creating and automatic merge with Mod Merger, as it would use wrong texturegroup and result in compression artifacts. But if you absolutely want and see no difference - go ahead.
I would recommend to use WolvenKit's Lexar Mode to create a manual merge, instead. Check out the tutorial for that, here.
- There is a conflict / script conflict with a Y mod!
Okay, just play with priorities until you get the effect you want, I won't be doing anything about it anyways.
- 2k resolution?
Nah, it's an overkill - even 1k is an overkill if you really think about it.
- Can you make XXX change?
Maybe - depends on if I like the idea or not. Drop your request in comments.
