    Serana Follower Framework Issues

    If you run into a situation where Serana cannot revert back to a human.
    Open the console and select Serana.
    Type " setrace vlrnnpcracedummy " and hit enter.
    This should revert her back and resolve the issue.

    SFF refresh's the VL under certain conditions (cell load,....) 
    Her wings may disappear due to this.
    If you have the activation blocker patch, then you may simply talk to her and her wings may come back.
    (Sometimes you have to talk to her twice)
    If you don't have the activation blocker patch, then you will need to revert form and talk to her.
    (This will revert her back to human and once both of you transform again the issue should be resolved)

    Quick minor question. Is there anyway for the female player character to use female animations for walking/running when grounded and sheathed?

      My mod uses the human skeleton and the human body meshes, so if someone were to convert animations to support the Vampire Lord race, then that may be possible. 

      The only existing custom animations are built for the Vanilla monster form and HVL.

      actually, the HVL Bats Power Fix that you linked to in your install instructions also has another optional file for female anims in VL form using Dynamic Animation Replacer (DAR).  Might want to add that as an option for other users.  I just tried it and it works :)

      also, you dont have to use the specific female anims that come with it, you can swap out different anims into the same folder if you wish.

    hey could i get a link to your 5.4.3 releases? i came back to modding after half a year and when i installed the new stuff loot kept giving me vlrn better vampires patch not installed when looking at vlrn better vampire lords

    i then saw i needed MO2 for it. i am with vortex

      So the issue with the fomod is that:

      I used the FOMOD Creation Tool to create the fomods and gave the folders priorities(so they would overwrite each other correctly).
      It seems like only Mod Organizer 2 recognizes the priorities, while Vortex and NMM installs folders by flags and the order of the fomod code. 

      Essentially the fomod issue was probably present from the beginning and has now been brought to light recently. If the mod was working for you then, then it should work for you now on a latest version. 

      As for loot: You don't require the vlrn better vampires patch anymore(because it's content is now included in the BVL patch). 

      A workaround for Vortex and NMM, would be to install the fomod with MO2, then zip the extracted contents and install it in either Vortex or NMM. *Once MO2 is installed it should be no trouble to do this.

    umm so i can't use this if the custom race i use is not on the list?

    edit: i managed to make it sort of work. Works fine except the wings, i prolly just installed the wings wrong. Very happy to not see the vanilla vampire lord look.

      The reason why the custom race needs to be patched will by due to:

      -the custom race may have a custom body that needs patching

      -the custom race morph race and height need to be patched into the vampire lord race if you want an exact appearance.

    great mod, there is just a minor problem.
    despite having chosen the option to have my NPCs retain their human form, and not installing the replacer, they still assume a bugged headless human form when they change to vampire lord, any idea why this happens?

      For Humanoid NPC Vampirelords:

      Reinstall the race pack and select the relevant option. 

      Then install the replacer pack and select the relevant required patches. When installing the replacer pack you should only select a maximum of 3 npcs. Meaning if you select Serana once then you cannot select another Serana patch.

      Lastly configure your order to match the MLO file. 

      Look at the video linked in the description page, if you are confused about the installation. 

      ---------

      In terms of the missing head, it's probably due to a missing replacer pack or due to my plugins being overwritten. My plugins should preferably be loaded in the order of the MLO file at the bottom of your load order. Don't forget that there are 2 orders that need to be configured. You will see this in the video.

      No, there are options in the fomod to not install the wings or to install the wings with no flying mod. 

      You don't have to install the wing pack. The only pack that is needed is the race pack. All the rest of the packs are optional.

      If you want to fly, then you will need a flying mod. It doesn't have to be the flying mod linked through Animated Wings Ultimate. You could use other vampire lord flying mods.

      If you want to save slots, then you could merge plugins with SSEEdit. You would need to then remove the redundant masters. Ensure that the merged plugin has the relevant name, so that a patch would not have a missing master. 

      The main plugin of my mod should not be merged as it is referenced in a script.

    Do you know if there're animations for the claws attack, walking, levitating, and idle?

      For humanoid Vampire Lords:

      HVL animations: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/67062?tab=files

      You can swap the animations with other animations by downloading the above dar or oar version. Then just rename the animation that will be a replacement to the name of the animation being replaced in the above mod. You can either overwrite the old animation or replace it via copy and paste. 

      Note that the HVL main mod is not required to make the above linked mod to work with my mod. The vanilla Vampire lord animations will give a Humanoid Vampire Lord a long neck with extended fingers. A HVL animations based mod will resolve this. 

      Claw animation:

      I know that precision creatures has an animation that extends claws, although that was built for the Vanilla Vampire lord mesh. 


      Apart from the above mentioned mods, I only know about the Vanilla Vampire lord animations. For the claws, perhaps there may be a mod that adds nails to the Vampire as a armor and has its own animations. All you would have to do is equip supposed claws in Vampire Lord form. 

      If you want to make a complete custom animation set, then download the linked mod and swap the relevant animations.

      Hey, I'm using Nether's Follower Framework and Serana isn't in the framework, so she doesn't have the features from NFF, do you know what might have happened? When the FOMOD asked about a follower framework, I chose vanilla btw.

      Only follower frameworks that make an npc a Vampire Lord will need to be patched. So NFF doesn't require a patch. If you want NFF features on Serana, then you would have to import her into the framework. NFF modpage should have info on this. 

      Note that the current patched frameworks will not work with Serana or Valerica if they are imported with NFF, because it seems that all these frameworks creates an npc alias for the affected npcs. So if you use for example:

      Vampire Lord Serana and you import Serana into NFF, then she may use nffs functions, but be unable to transform into a Vampire Lord, while imported.

    so far ive only seen harkon transform but when he does he retains his human form and clothes, but hes bald and his wings instantly appear during the initial transformation animation and then disappear after the transformation... any help? (using pandorables for harkon)

      The wings being removed in the initial transformation is a known issue. There after whenever he is a Vampire Lord, there should be no problems with the wings.

      In the case of his hair, did you configure your load order to match the MLO file order?

      My plugins should be loaded last and be sorted according to the Master Load Order files. You can see an MLO file in the images section, or download it in the files section. 

      I'm also assuming that you installed the mod with Mod Organizer 2.

    I have no idea if this is a good or bad place to ask but Is there a mod like this for werewolves? even just a pretty basic one that just replaces the werewolf form with your characters appearance is fine. I would love to use this mod but don't have time to configure it and set it up. plus I don't tend to use VL even when I have it. this is an awesome mod! amazing work I can only imagine how hard it was to make this.

      I've never seen a werewolf mod that does this. 

      It should in theory require the same modification that my mod does. The modification itself is simple, but to make it compatible with different races and npc replacers will be alot of work. It will require basically every pack that my mod has.
