About this mod

Wearing a hood shouldn't mean a character's hair disappears, right? This not-so-simple mod replaces the Hood_0.nif and Hood_1.nif files to add similar hair to Serana Re-Imagined SE's hood with adjustments to reduce clipping. Now with optional HDT-SMP physics hair.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
For a character that wears a hood about 50% of the time outdoors, that one better have hair under the hood.  +Immersion

PHYSICS OPTION BUG:

There is a know bug that the hair will be doubled if you choose a SMP option. It is being looked at. In the mean time you can choose a no physics option if it bothers you. 2.0a should fix the double-hair physics bug.

A NOTE ON BLACK HAIR:

Black hair only requires one of the main files from Serana Re-Imagined: SE or ESL.

A NOTE ON BLOODWINE HAIR:

BloodWine hair, just like Black hair, only requires one of the main files from Serana Re-Imagined: SE or ESL.
It is my own custom haircolor I first used as an option in the Vanilla Dawnguard mod. It is a more dark and supernatural (wait for it) blood inspired color suitable for a vampire and each paleness option for that main uses it. Serana's vampirisim is so powerful apparently that even when cured she still has that blood-infused hair color.

A NOTE ON RED HAIR:

Red Hair requires two files from Serana Re-Imagined:
1) A Serana Re-Imagined main file: SE or ESL
2) Only one of the Serana Red Hair Option files at a time: Vamp, LessPaleLessMakeup, or Cured

All files must have the same choice or the skin color of the head and body will be different. Bet on a worse outcome.

LOAD ORDER:

Load this after "Serana Re-Imagined SE/ESL". This mod MUST overwrite any files from Serana Re-Imagined.

Black Hair: Serana Re-Imagined main --> then --> HPH for SRI Black Hair
BloodWine Hair: Serana Re-Imagined main --> then --> HPH for SRI BloodWine Hair
Red Hair: Serana Re-Imagined main --> then --> SRI Red Hair optional file --> then --> HPH for SRI Red Hair

Use a mod manager like Vortex.

ESL VS NON-ESL:

The file you installed from Serana Re-Imagined as of v1.3 should not matter. The only difference should be the ESP and it must be overwrote by this mod. This mod has only ESL flagged ESP files. Sorry for the convenience.

WHAT ARE ALL THESE OPTIONS?

Serana Re-Imagined (SRI) has three total possible paleness and makeup options. Originally, they were in separate downloads. Froztee plans to use a FOMOD installer for a coming update that brings those options together. I imagine there will be a FOMOD installer for each body type: CBBE 3BBB and BHUNP.

What I call "Re-Imagined Vamp Paleness" is original paleness and makeup from SRI. "Less Pale" goes with the Less Pale and Less Makeup patch. "Cured" - yeah you get it. When installing this mod, you must choose the same option you chose or will choose when reinstalling SRI. Bad things happen if those are different.

Serana Re-Imagined version 1.3 brings all the paleness options into the FOMOD installer.

Worse things happen if you choose an HDT-SMP option without all of it's requirements.

If unsure, choose a no-hair-physics option.

2.0 brings support for more color options with more main files. Only use one at a time.

Each has a FOMOD installer with Vamp/less/cured paleness & optional HDT-SMP physics hair options. +BodyslidePJ

Optional HDT-SMP physics works with hood on and off. Thank you Ousnius for KSWigsSMP and BS!

SOMETHING WENT HORRIBLY WRONG!?!

If you have major glitches with Serana with this mod:

1. What options did you choose when installing this mod?

2. What options did you choose when installing Serana Re-Imagined? Is it installed?

3. Does this mod overwrite Serana Re-Imagined and any of it's files? It must.

4. Are you using a mod manager like Vortex with conflict rules to make this overwrite Serana Re-Im? Do it.

5. What other mods are you using that change Serana? That's dangerous and untested.

Post a screenshot or video of what you're seeing. It can be unlisted on Youtube for example. Post a link or DM me.

COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER REPLACERS:

This mod is made to match Serana Re-Imagined and will not work with any mod changing Serana to look any other way. It probably won't work with anything else unless custom made to match. No other Serana replacer should be installed other than the version of Serana Re-Imagined files that version is made for.

CAN I USE THIS ON CONSOLES?

The only major console that allows these kinds of mods is Xbox One. Yes.

HISTORY:

Made by request for Froztee. First communication about it happened on December 4th, 2020.

Finally figured out why HDT-SMP wasn't working for the hood hair. Mesh name was too long. FOMOD released with 1.2 on December 29th, 2020.

Updated to match changes in SRI v2 FOMOD installer on February 1st, 2020.

v2.0a used the alpha-to-zero method to hide the non-physics hair for the HDT-SMP options and added Red and BloodWine hair color options on December 1st and 3rd, 2023.

v2.0b corrects some ESP anf facegendata files. December 11th, 2023.
