From all the returns I had on this (in this thread, in other threads, in the bugs, maybe even in my mail), I can only conclude that the performance depends a lot on the specific hardware configuration of the user (and maybe of its installed mods and their configuration), and the way to have the best performance is for me to build all the versions, and for the users to test and take the version with the best performance for them.
Do you think there is a standard easy way for not-specialist users to measure and compare the performance of the different versions on their config? Personally, I would simply measure the fps (displayed through ENB) in the market of Whiterun or Solitude, but I guess it's a bit too variable, and not as solid as what some of you did. What do you think?
My quite-old CPU (Intel Core i5-4590) supports both AVX and AVX2 But with my tests, AVX works best while AVX2 struggles. My GPU (Radeon RX570) isn't supported so I'm stuck with CPU solver.
You can just reinstall it to test each version since it only consists of 3 files, easy to backup/install.
Anything before that you're limited to the older SSE Instruction Set Extensions.
So in my case as I have an i7 6700, I install AVX2 as its the best possible performing option for these mods on.
AS ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR HARDWARE SPECS AND LIMITATIONS AND CAPABILITIES AND PLAN ON WHAT YOU WANT TO BUY FOR THE PURPOSE. You wouldn't drive an F1 car 5 minutes into town to do grocery shopping after all... (Unless you're Kimi Räikkönen lol)
i9-12900H. rtx 3070ti, I'm using CUDA AVX2, I have some weird stutter/fps drops with NO CUDA versions but there is no stutter and stable fps with CUDA versions
I limit my fps at 90, playing at 1080p. Sometimes in cities, my fps go back down to 40 fps.
Of course, I'm fully using SMP.
If I don't limit, well... My screen is limited to 240 Hz, and I can attain this in some dungeons parts. Until now, for me, anything over 120 fps is useless. 90 fps is the sweet spot.
we have similar specs. I have a Ryzen 9 7950x and a EVGA 3070 8gb with 64gb of 6000mhz ram. I also play 1440p but use 2k textures since 4k textures are lost at lower res, you only hurt performance unless you're really zooming in on textures in game.
I write this comment to pint point, hopefully what helped me regarding the massive loss of FPS, after 3 days if many attempts I managed to fix the peformance issue.
I selected every single AVX option, I run a 1500 + modlist and the game runs always with 55-59 fps, I use very few graphic mods and I use a LOT of FPS guides like Paramount, Efps series and Lightening Skyrim.
When I selected both AVX 1,AVX 512 and "None" on the AVX option I was getting 20-30 fps MINUS, which was mind breaking since I run a what I call a good setup.
Solution: I selected AVX 2 and in addition I reinstalled 3BA and CBPC and I selected the Limited option. AVX 2 option plus limited option on the CBPC and 3BA body mods, make me run back at 60+ fps, getting to 55 or less due to Lux taking most of it. I hope this helps.
Wtf. Just because you are not able to afford decent Hardware and or tweak your physics setup doesnt mean its bad, its superior to hdt pe in so many ways, dont even know where to start.
r5 3600 rtx 3070 16gb ram reasonable config 1.5.97 CUDA avx2, avx2 non cuda, avx non cuda (yes i tried them all) 70-80 fps dint hair, 80-90 fps if wind ruler hair hdt smp avx cuda 60-70 dint hair fps 70-80 wind ruler hdt smp. location dead man drink. kinda weird that those 3 has the same performance but avx cuda is worse.
In all honesty: Those CPUs are going to be too slow for SMP anyway. Not worth the effort, especially as CPUs that old have a miniscule userbase at this point.
As per: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/213805/intel-core-i511400h-processor-12m-cache-up-to-4-50-ghz.html
Your CPU supports Intel's implementation of AVX-2, and AVX-512.
I don't have one to test with, so I can't say which will perform better- but at a guess, I would suspect AVX-2, since if memory serves the whole instruction pipeline had to do something weird to get AVX512 instructions through? Don't quote me though. Next gen (12th gen) dropped it almost entirely.
However- You CAN do AVX, AVX-2, and AVX-512. Try 'em all, see which performs best for what you're doing. Good luck!
A problem was found: My character or follower's chest will vibrate at a very fast frequency, and then return to normal after restarting the game. This is an accidental error. I don't understand why?I installed FSMP and cbpc
AVX - AVX2 - AVX512 Do you see/measure a difference in performance between them? (98 comments)

- INTEL AND AMD USERS: Refer to this for AVX/AVX2/AVX512 and the new AVX-VNNI note that AVX STARTED with Q1 2011 released Sandy Bridge Intel CPU's/AMD Jaguar Processors.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x (Stock Clock Speed)
GPU: RTX 3070 Founders Edition (Stock Clocks Speed).
RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz.
So I ran AVX and AVX2 with 3ba body and KS hair SMP; I noticed only 1 to 2 FPS gains on AVX2 over AVX, but my FPS was more stable.
Resolution: 2560x1440
Avg Textures usage in my mod-list: 4K
ENB: Yes (Pi-CHO ENB With custom edits)
Benchmark
AVX
AVG: 56FPS
1% Low: 32 FPS
0.1% Low: 18FPS
AVX2
AVG: 58 FPS
1% Low: 41 FPS
0.1 LOW: 29 FPS
I never used CUDA & AVX 512, so I don't know their results.
I hope this will same some time for fellow 5600x and RTX 3070 users.
